I have been extremely…

I have been extremely fortunate as my mom has worked in the office of Schwartz's accountant for years. And then the accountant bought out one of the owners. My mom used to sign my wife's cheques when she was a cashier many years ago. So I have had more than my fair share of smoke meat from there. Our midnight buffet at our wedding was Schwartz's smoke meat. Beautiful sight seeing the guy cut meat and make sandwiches at our reception. There were lot of happy family and friends at our wedding to say the least. People were getting sandwiches to go.

Happy early Birthday! I hope…

Happy early Birthday! I hope you have a great time up here. While here you should also try Schwartz's for a smoke meat sandwich and try a Montreal style bagel. The family loved the bagels. We sent them home with 3 dozen and 6 cans of maple syrup.

Gibby's is great. The last…

Gibby's is great. The last time I was there was about 15 years ago, before we had kids. It's a little pricey to bring them and they wouldn't truly appreciate it. I always get the slab of dead cow. The wife has a thing for their chicken Kiev. Sugar pie is always a great choice. Cheers!

It's been pretty mild as…

It's been pretty mild as well here in Montreal. Two weeks ago it was 8F, tonight it's -38F. It's a bit nipply out there right now.

Earlier today the wife said she wants pizza tomorrow. What the wife wants, the wife gets. As far as drinks, I'll probably have one or two bottles of the micro brews my sister in law gave me for Christmas. Being a Bucs fan I don't have a dog in the fight. I usually cheer for Brady, but a co-worker is a Pats fan and is a total asshat when they win. So I think I'll be cheering on the Chiefs tomorrow so I don't have to listen to him go on and on about how great the Pats are.

I thought the same thing…

I thought the same thing until I read a few comments. Some of us are just a bit more dialed in than others. You and I not being one of them. Lol.

How about Touchdown…

How about Touchdown Manningham and Hello Heisman?

We named our first daughter…

We named our first daughter Maisie. It actually had nothing to do with my fandom. After she was born I joked we should have given her the middle name Blue. My wife who is not a sports fan in the least, said we should spelled it with a Z and if my daughter wants we will pay to change her name to Maizy Blue when she is older if she wants. She's a keeper. And congrats on 4 & 5.

Beilein is the answer

No one makes halftime adjustments like him. No one.

The winged helmet

My dad is a big sports fan. Especially football. Sometime in the early 80's he was in our basement watching football. I sat down with him to watch and I saw the most glorious helmet I had ever laid my eyes on. I had no clue who they were, but I was hooked instantly. Been a fan ever since, almost 40 years. Go Blue.

I'm not the grammar police But Brian, you spelled Matt Canada wrong.
I agree

I would also take Canada any day of the week. But I think I'm a little biased.

That sums it up pretty good

My wife gave me a kit for my birthday last year. My mother in law loves doing the family tree part. She has even done mine. Which is a bonus for me. I ended up finding all of my mother's cousins that she and her siblings have never met. Which is pretty cool.

I lucked out this year

Either Team Canada hockey uniform onesie, gift cards to the liquor store or a book with 125 bacon recipes. I don't deserve my wife.

Fanchest Box The wife and kids bought me a Michigan themed Fanchest box. Inside was a retro maize coloured tshirt with a block M, note pad, pens, mints, a Tervis insulated travel mug and a tuque (winter hat).
+1 to you

This is my favourite by far. Good call. I'm enjoying a Dalwhinnie 15 year old single malt scotch now. Next Kilbeggan double distilled whiskey. Because, why the hell not.

I disagree

I just rewatched the hit and it was fine. It was actually less violent than I remembered. Did he rub Peters a little after they hit the ground, sure. Did that have any affect on the injury, I would say no. I played football until I was 18 and rugby in my 20's & 30's and I have definitely hit people harder than that and I never received a flag.

That explains it

A buddy just tagged me in a picture on Facebook less than an hour ago. It was him with Kenny Allen. Kenny's Hamilton Tiger-Cats just beat up my home town Montreal Alouettes. Allen went 5-5 on FG and 4-4 on extra points.

Huge is an understatement.

Every post I saw on Facebook yesterday was about something regarding Gord and The Hip.RIP's or people's special memories or videos of their music. It went for hours. The Hip is to Canada what Springsteen is to the US.

I unfortunately only saw this

I unfortunately only saw this now, otherwise I definitely would have tuned in. I played club rugby for 8 years and miss it every day. My knee however has a different view of the sport. Great to see other fans of rugby on here.

69-63 Michigan

Go Blue!

Thank you for posting this

You just made my shitty night better. No pun intended.

Tweeting recruits is stupid

I follow Angeique who retweeted Ruiz.

If you don't want to click the link

Tomorrow at 12pm as per Ruiz

As per Twitter
Great Canadian fighting tactic

My brother, I and our friends would do this to each other all the time.

Great Movie

I remember watching Bob & Doug on the show SCTV when I was in grade 6. We had to learn to play the recorder, all the guys learned to play their theme song. It was hilarious.

I was around 11

I always remember watching the NFL. But my first memory of college footbal was when my stepfather was watching it one day when I sat down to watch with him. I saw these awesome helmets. I had never seen anything like them before. I was instantly hooked. It's been roughly 35 years and I'm still hooked.

I'm the opposite with 3 girls

Since my three are girls, I don't get hit too hard in groceries. But when it comes to clothes, they more than make up for it. I shudder everytime the wife takes them out shopping.

Michigan is recognized everywhere

Last November I took my two oldest girls to an indoor batting facility. I was wearing a maize coloured Michigan tshirt with a jacket over top. All you could see was a two inch section of my collar and a little bit of the tshirt under that. As I walked in, the guy who worked there (he was about 17-19) said "Hey that's Michigan?". I said yes. The thing is I was 20 minutes north on Montreal, Quebec and the kid was french and watches baseball. Kind of blew my mind that he recognized it was a Michigan shirt.

He was in the CFL

He was on the Montreal Alouettes for awhile. I know the equipement manager. He once told me of Smith "he's a great guy and a hell of an athelete, but he can't read a defense". So he didnt last all that long up here either.

If you say no

This is the stats for Hall of Fame RB Gale Sayers. By today's standards this is a average career. Sayers was arguably the best RB of his generation. So you can't compare each individual to one another. To many variables.

If we are using just pure stats and rings

Does this get a RB in the HOF? Stats for 7 years in the NFL with no rings or Championships

Rushing Yards: 4,956
Rushing Average: 5.0
Rushing TDs: 39
Return yards: 3,172
Return TDs:

8

What else can we say

Harbaugh is winning at life!

Some what

Most people believe he and Boss are staying in Cali. Now D Jackson would be a huge surprise.

So does

Maty Mauk.

Per Gregg Henson

it has to do with off field issues.

Maybe he got shanked

The question is with what?

21 in our group

Still more than enough money.

Road Trip!

Looks like another trip into upstate New York is in order to get some tickets. We went Friday night and when we crossed in and out ou the US, the guard at both borders just laughed when we told them we were going just to get powerball tickets.

Maybe

Gary and Jackson? If I'm going to speculate, I'm speculating BIG!

Targeting

He led with the crown of his helmet to the chest of the QB while throwing the ball away.

Hahaha

Apparently I can't even handle one beer anymore. I totally did not see that, and now I can't even find the retweet I copied it from. Thanks for being way more observant than I am.

Manziel must be soo happy
It sure seems that way

Regardless of if we take another four or not, we'll need a lot of attrition. Presently we have 92 if all of the commits stick. If we take 4 more that's 96. We'll have to some how loose 11 players or greyshirt them.

Read Diary above

How recruiting visits work. Especially last two paragraphs. Kids are funny. Maybe the coaching staff knows they are solid and is trying to communicate with those they are not so sure are. Or they are spending most of their time coaching the team they already have and trying to get others to commit like Gary and Nauta. Only so much time in a day.

I just read

This past season eight sophomores/true freshmen cracked Brown’s two-deep. So I guess 2017 won't be all that bad.

I believe I read a tweet

That Pie was now waiting until NSD to commit

Basically

More of a SDE in a 3-4?

We're in his top 4
His tweet

I read this as something we did not expect. Am I the only one? Jackson would fit this. He was considered highly unlikely, no?
