i agree with the sentiment, but more because having a better defense doesnt mean you are a better coach. Iowa did what they did with much less talented players, and with zero help from the offense. Our defense can rotate 6 DTs and only has to worry about 7 drives a game 'cuz the offense boa constricters all the time away. The fact that they are even in the same zipcode is a testament to the work Parker has done.

there is a "disable HTML5 autoplay" extension you can install in chrome. i've used that for forever since autoplaying vidoes became a thing. i dont use firefox, edge, etc. but i would bet they have a similar extension you could find if that is your preferred browser

i wonder if there is an added benefit to the hurdling... defenders gotta know it is in his toolbox and *should* be ready so as not to get posterized (twitterized?). so then they are less likely to go low which then allows haskins to win the low ground when he wants, making it easier to drive forward after contact

just to add to the original conversation. i looked at the tie breakers, and in the counterfactual where MSU beats Purdue, there would be a 3-way tie with MSU, OSU and us. those ties would go all the way to the 5th tiebreaker which looks at the record of the cross-divisional opponents.

MSU had Northwestern (1-8), Nebraska (1-8), and Purdue (would be 5-4 if lost to MSU), for a cumulative opponent record of 7-20.

OSU had Minnesota (6-3), Nebraska (1-8), and Purdue (would be 5-4 if lost to MSU), for a cumulative opponent record of 12-15.

Mich had Wisc (6-3), Nebraska (1-8), and Northwestern (1-8), for a cumulative opponent record of 8-19.

So w/o that purdue loss bumping MSU out of the 3-way tie scenario, OSU would have backed into the East championship even with the loss to us. yuck

M winning 11 games including arch rival OSU for the first time in Harbaughs career on the way to winning the B1G East is an even easier story to understand
