|4 days 12 hours ago||Love it||
Harbaugh is ruffling everyone's feathers. At least in the SEC.
|1 week 2 days ago||No collapse today!||
Other than a slow start and a shaky first half of the 3rd, the Wings played an absolutely shut-er-down game. Tampa at one point didn't have a shot for over 20 minutes. They kept looking for one extra pass, hesitant to shoot.This is EXACTLY how you beat the #1 offense in the league.
|1 week 5 days ago||To be fair||
Injury has been a huge component of it.
But anyone who has paid attention on a day-to-day basis knows of the many questionable personnel decisions made, and how horrible the Thunder are in last-shot type situations. It became a running joke around here because it seems like "take a highly contested 3" was the go-to play at the end. For a team that has two of the best players in the world, they should be much better in those moments.
Not to mention that their defense is laughably awful...as in, nonexistent.
|1 week 5 days ago||About as ridiculous||
No wait, less ridiculous. Less ridiculous than oversigning.
Sucks to have rules that pit you at a disadvantage relative to other conferences, eh Saban?
|1 week 6 days ago||Oh hell.||
If you seriously, seriously think a man who turned Stanford from 1-11 to a fucking BCS bowl, who made a perennially underachieving 49ers team into Super Bowl contenders doesn't know what he's doing....Yes, sometimes it IS ok to say "trust the coaches". This is one of those times. He hasn't coached a damn game at Michigan yet.
There is WAY more that goes into recruiting a kid than his high school stats. That should go without saying.
|2 weeks 12 hours ago||It seems backwards to me||
That the guys paid millions of dollars can't be bothered to have a "win the day" mentality,but the guys who 90% of won't get into the NFL and owon't get a dime playing football are much more suited to this mentality, Sad, really.
I don't care how much money you make or how good you are, if you're not striving to always be better you are not doing your job right.
|2 weeks 13 hours ago||Makes millions playing a damn game....||
...complains about being pushed too hard.
|3 weeks 2 hours ago||Wait...||
I get that GAA isn't the best stat in the world, but it's sure a hell of a lot better than wins and losses.
|3 weeks 2 hours ago||The Wings scored 6 goals against Boston last year in 5 games.||
It's not exactly fair to point to wins and losses alone for a goalie.
|3 weeks 2 hours ago||"He's had an awful year"||
Let me stop you there. No, he hasn't. He was playing lights out at the begining of the year. He also played well last year in the playoffs. His recent decline is very recent and related to his injury....he just hasn't been the same since he returned. There's no reason to think he can't make a full recovery from the injury and get back to his past production....but for whatever reason he doesn't have it all together right now.
I don't have a comment on the contract right now, but my first hunch is it is nowhere near as bad as you're making it out to be.
|3 weeks 2 hours ago||I think||
I think he's saying he disagrees with the notion that it's "almost impossible". Frankly, I disagree too. It's unlikely, sure. But nowhere near impossible. "Almost impossible" to me should be reserved for things like "coming back from down 3-0 to win the series". Now THATS almost impossible.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||I don't think it was a cheap shot||
I wish JH had mentioned RR too, but you're reading into it too much by calling it a "pointed " omission and an "unnecessary cheap shot". I mean, I suppose it could have been. But given JH's personality, I doubt he did it on purpose. He doesn't strike me as a guy who would purposely throw a previous coach under the bus. And really, he has no obligation to mention RR anyway.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||I'm guessing||
He takes the spot that Smith or Kindl would normally get.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||Come on man||
The Wings were on the way to beating Montreal last night. They played a great game as a team. Price didn't look other worldly or anything, and he's the only way Montreal makes it to the finals.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||Supposed to say unfathomably||
But unfashionable works too I guess
|3 weeks 3 days ago||Screw that.||
Here's some optimism. Outsude of Howard's inexplicable soft goals and Smiths unfashionably dumb stupid penalty, the Wings actually played very well as a team against an opponent they may face in round 1. If they can play smart and get one goalie to be solid, honestly I think they have a chance to beat anyone in a best of 7.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||Sounds||
Sounds like an upworthy headline.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||Honestly that sounds like a nice upgrade||
After the last two years. I'd take mediocrity over "on the brink of complete disaster" any day.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||Oberon is overrated to me||
It will have a special place in my heart since it was essentially my gateway into the craft beer world many years ago. But...since then my taste has evolved and to me Oberon just ain't anything special. I particularly dislike the taste of Oberon when it's not super cold....the longer it sits out the funkier it starts to taste.
Also...I just emailed the meaning of Oberon...lol, indeed.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||Huh||
I think I've tried Dogfish before, didn't think it was anything special (though it's been awhile since I had it). Maybe I'll give them another shot...didn't know they were considered to be that good.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||Can't even compete?||
The wonderful thing about beer is everyone has different preferences in taste and thus will compare breweries differently. I've tried some full sail, and yeah it was good, but it didn't blow me away. I just like Founders more.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||I live in Norman, OK||
Founders was the first Michigan beer to really tap into (literally and figuratively) the local market here. I was just ecstatic to see a Michigan beer at first, but then I tried them and like them almost more than the beers that Left Hand Brewery (out of Colorado) puts out. The local bars even started carrying Founders on tap. One even has a "rotating handle" of Founders (the only other rotating handle was Great Divide) and I was lucky to be able to try the Blushing Monk last time I went to the bar.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||I tried it||
Very unique...definitely have not ever had a beer like that before. My first impression was a bit jumbled, not quite negative but not necessarily good either (I think I was just confused at first haha), but the more I drank it the more I liked and appreciated the taste.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||100% agree||
It doesn't even have to be a "command center". Just use a flipping replay booth. Give them a bigger monitor to actally, you know, SEE the play (part of that call was likely due to the refs staring at a tiny screen). Let the replay officials deal with the minutae of the rules and how to examine/scrutinize crucial close clals via replay. If the refs are as incompetent as we say (I mean, if we really DO accept that the game is too fast for them), then why teh fuck would giving them MORE responsibility be a smart thing to do? It's just another opportunity to screw things up, but this time in a situation where screwing up is unacceptable.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||I never meant that they should have called the elbow a foul||
Just pointing out the absurdity of calling a "foul" when a player jumps out of his way to initiate contact with the defender. This is a basketball-wide problem.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Or||
Jumping to the side and Elbowing a player in the face on a pull up jumper, for the and 1.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||That one..,||
Of Allen jumping up his side, and freaking elbowing the Wisky player in the face, while getting the foul called perfectly encapsulated the shiftiness of the 2nd half. They were literally running and jumping straight into Wisconsin players, and getting the calls from the ref. such bullshit basketball to watch as an unbiased fan.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Wisky||
Is getting absolutely hosed by these refs.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||If only||
There was a recent example of a viral meme that could demonstrate this...
|4 weeks 4 days ago||Well...||
You assume that Michigan beating OSU would change nothing about last year. And...I'm not so sure. For one, does Hoke really fire Borges after that season if the OSU game ends in a W? And if Borges isn't fired, what does that mean for the 2014 season?
