!) The schedule is MUCH better next year with OSU and MSU at home, so even if the price stays the same that's a much better value for the price
2) It's probably too late to completely change pricing structure for the next year anyway, especially given that the AD has much more important things to worry about at the moment and has a lot of buyouts on the table to take care of, as well as hiring decisions.
If the Michigan fanbase really wants to be top tier, they may have to live with these prices. I don't think there will be a significant drop in season ticket buyers if the next coach is in any way exciting...fans will come back and want to see what he does in year one with honestly a pretty good roster, talent-wise.
|3 days 10 hours ago||I agree||
They peaked in week one. Clearly too early.
|3 days 15 hours ago||Honestly, no expectations in terms of wins||
After 7 years of floundering, I'm not going to place much level of expectation on the next coach...I just want the team to compete and to not wilt under pressure. I want the coach to really light a fire under the teams butts, because they need a jolt. Wake them up. I'm not sure what that means in terms of wins...but no more blowouts to rivals, no more disappointing home losses.
|3 days 16 hours ago||Based on what evidence, exactly?||
There are 3 potential starters. Only one has to be the guy. They're not gonna find the next Brady out of them, but asking for one of them to be "serviceable" isn't too tall of an order. With Mortis we have to remember that he's still only a sophomore and has started two whole games...one was decent tho he was given easy throws, the other was a disaster at the time the whole team was tanking. Morris has certainly underwhelmed, but I'm not sure it's fair to think he's a bust just yet.
|4 days 8 hours ago||I appreciate his passioned defense||
But it's the nature of the sport. You cannot get away with missing a bowl at a place like Michigan, and definitely NOT in year 4. Michigan has looked embarassing in some of the losses too. And honestly, the wins have been just as ugly. At some point enough is enough.
I just want to really ask Mattison, "OK...so what's the problem, then? If Hoke is a winner, why is he losing like this after 4 years?" At a place like michigan with its resources and current roster talent level it should NOT happen. And in a conference as bad as the Big Ten, it's laughable that you might not even make a bowl game.
And yet, they're staring that possibility in the face.
You're 0-2 against Rutgers and Maryland this year. I just...WTF is that? It's not good enough.
|4 days 8 hours ago||Schiano?||
Fuck that. I'd rather keep Brady Hoke for another year. I don't like assholes who are assholes just because (cough Brandon cough). And I definitely don't think he's some sort of upgrade over Hoke. I'm not a huge Mullen guy, but I'd take him in a heartbeat over Schiano.
And plan C...a guy like Hoke...what does that even mean, honestly? Are we talking about Cam Camerons and Scott Loefflers? Because if so...kill me now. Or does he mean a mostly unproven head coach? If we're talking about guys like the OSU offensive coordinator...well sure, why not look at some under-the-radar types?
I want to believe the candidates list is larger than that. But I just don't know anymore. I only hope the program somehow figures out how to get its head out of its ass. Until a new coach is named, I remain skeptical (and slightly hopeful of Harbaugh)
|4 days 12 hours ago||Good point||
Except that Hoke DOES treat the media with respect. So, you know...
|4 days 15 hours ago||I agree with this||
And yet...I can't help but look toward OSU, who had to suddenly break in a new QB, along with a bunhc of new linemen and a new RB....and then see what THEY were able to build. Yeah, they weren't ready for Va TEch early on, but they showed clear, significant progress to the point where they were able to torch an at least pretty darn good MSU defense and do enough to win against other Big Ten opponents.
So...I too hesitate about fully judging Nuss, but at the same time, WTF is going on with him?!? He has shown absolutely NOTHING resembling his past success. Oh sure, he built a respectable run game after last year's debacle...but that wasn't the sole point of bringing him in. The point was bringing in a guy who could build a consistent, coherent offense...and the one word to describe this year's offense is staggering inconsistency. They have taken a huge step back, and while some of it is on losing Gallon and having a surprisingly underwhelming core of WRs and RBs, at the same time you would think the guy could find SOMETHING successful out of that much talent.

I felt nothing watching the game. I did chores...cleaned the house, did dishes, washed the floor, vacuumed, laundry. So that's what it's gotten to...this team is so boring to watch that I'd rather do chores than watch the game. I listened to the game in the background, but every time something bad happened I just shook my head and continued to clean.
I almost registered the emotion of "anger" when the Norfleet TD was called back...but then I caught and reminded myself that it just was not worth it.
It almost felt like the team was trying to find a way to lose today. I remain baffled at how many silly dumb mistakes so many different players continue to make.
Man, I feel bad for Devin. He deserves so much more than what he's gotten.
So now we know 100% without a doubt about Hoke's future. I hope for his sake he finds a way to get his team to beat OSU...I would like to see him go out on a high note at least.
My GOD. We're 0-2 against Rutgers and Maryland this year. That's astounding. Michigan football, everyone!

Brian's mmune system just didn't execute. He had a good week of practice though.
OK, yeah, I'm sick of that joke too, but I couldn't resist.

This literally makes no sense to me.
Do people love criticizing things for the sake of criticism? It's a fucking pamphlet on depression, to advertise for UM's Depression Center. It's got the word "depression" on it, a picture of a person to make it relatable, and the words "The Michigan Difference" on it. That's it. Let's not think too hard about a pamphlet.
|1 week 6 days ago||I was surprisingly disappointed with Atwater||
I bought a 12 bottle variety pack from Meijer after a recommendation and honestly I don't remember liking any all that much except for the Dirty Blonde. Don't know if I had a bad batch or maybe it's just not my preference.

I literally just bought a Backwoods yesterday to try. I am so happy to be able to buy a Michigan beer where I live in Oklahoma (its the first I've found in 5 years here)...and my local liquor store has been really ramping up the varieties of Founders lately.

|2 weeks 2 days ago||I'm not so sure they'd throttle Wisky||
They struggled mightily against a very good PSU defense. Sure they demolished MSU, but so did Oregon so I think MSU just isn't nearly as good defensively as they were last year. Wisconsin's biggest question mark is their QB. If Stave is finally getting over his yips, then if they can get to the championship game they will give OSU a run for their money for sure.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||I don't know||
I read it differently. He wasn't putting fans down at all...and he acknowledged his personal biases, and also said he understands why fans are upset and they have every right to be.
Honestly, I'm sick of people constantly putting down the opinions of former players as if they're meaningless. Jack Kennedy wrote by all accounts a respectful argument about why he thinks Hoke should (or at least, could) be here next year. Disagree all you want, but don't just dismiss it offhand because you don't like what he says.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Is it, though?||
I mean, the run offense is certainly coming together (definitely a pleasant surprise), and the OL as a unit is certainly coming together (pass pro has been fantastic lately), but I don't think it's enough to say the offense as a whole is coming together given that it's still struggling to score points and move the ball now as much as it did at the beginning of the season.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Wow||
Funchess had an all around awful game, so this wouldn't be surprising.
|2 weeks 6 days ago||I mean||
But when you have WRs that hardly ever get any separation and drop the balls far too often on the few times they get the ball to their hands, combined with a QB who cannot get timing, accuracy, or really anything right in any sort of consistent way...well, then pass protection is moot.

The game of INFINITE N00M!!!!
|2 weeks 6 days ago||Agree with this||
There were throws to be made. Unfortunately, Devin never had his timing right. Basically I remember two good throws all game...one on the TD 'drive', and the other on the FG drive to Butt that was upheld after a review.
|2 weeks 6 days ago||So I can't believe I'm saying this...||
But the run game is the strength of this offense. Passing the ball feels all kinds of special this year.
|2 weeks 6 days ago||No it's not||
They didn't lose to Toledo and have 4 wins (which you'll note is more than 3) with still a decent shot at a bowl game.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Regarding #2||
All the negativity is surrounding Harbaugh...but maybe the players should put big boy pants on and stop complaining? They get paid. Like, a lot. They may not like Harbaugh or his methods, but they cannot deny the immediate and elite success that he brought in. If he's lost the locker room, the players and GM are as much to blame if not more so than Harbaugh, in my opinion. Plus, the problems a coach had in the NFL mean velvety little towards his collegiate coaching career. Carroll and Saban were mediocre NFL coaches their first try...but elite level collegiate. Same with Chip Kelly (though he has done better than mediocre at Philly).
|3 weeks 2 days ago||So, I get that Michigan is soft||
But I don't think a dumb retaliation is the way I want my team to defend itself against dirty plays. I do want them to stick up for their QB of course and show more damn fire and urgency in general. But that's more about the play on the field. They kinda looked like that against Indiana...but it was Indiana.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||He really said that?||
That's some serious trolling by him then. Because pretty much anyone else credible on the subject had said the exact opposite...that there was a snowballs chance in hell Harbaugh comes here if Brandon is the AD.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||Wow. This line is pure gold.||
"You can't act special if you're not special."
This is pretty much the essence of why I loathe the "this wouldn't be happening if the football team were winning" counterargument so much. One simple, simple sentence. You can't act elitist unless you are actually elite. Michigan arrogance may have been a negative stereotype others hate, but at least we could somewhat justify the attitude. Because, hey, we're good and we know it.
The biggest problem with DB for me was he was THE embodiment of this stereotype, except he had nowhere near the results to back it up and GOD FORBID someone challenge him on that, because "you just don't know" how hard the kids work.

How's Bolivia this time of year?
|3 weeks 4 days ago||That's up to the new AD to decide||
I wouldn't say Hoke would automatically save his job, but it would leave the possibility of retaining him. It would certainly make the decision more difficult....I mean, if Hoke can get this team even now to win AT Ohio, then you have to at least consider keeping him. And there are about a million other factors to take into account in that scenario.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||Ok dude||
Look, you may not think it's a big deal, it's ok to disagree. But not kneeling when you've won the game (because the other team can't stop the clock) and instead having an RB go out of bounds so you can run more plays to get a TD is the very definition of running up the score. It just is, ok.
