I think the official depth chart lists Green as starting RB?

We've been to the past 2 games in the Shoe and are planning to go again this year. As someone else already said, you'll have the most issues outside the stadium before/after the game. The 2011 game seemed toned down, likely due to Michigan winning the previous game in AA and some trepidation about losing consecutive games. Once you're in the stadium, you may be surprised with relatively cordial treatment from fans. Relatively cordial.
We live down here and deal with these folks year round. When wearing Michigan gear around town, everyone has to say something. Most of the time it's pretty benign, sometimes it's not. I think it's worth experiencing at least one Michigan game in Columbus. There's a lot of good cameraderie amonst the Michigan fans and, if you resist the urge to escalate bad treatment, you'll have fun.

If you can join without a Michigan degree, I'll cancel my membership tomorrow. This is gross.

Wasn't this program better when we filled out a form with preferences, either mailed or submitted online, and got the outcome a few weeks later? I never missed on Ohio tickets. I didn't even bother logging in this morning, will take my chances on StubHub.

Phew! That's a relief. Let's start looking forward to 2015.
|22 weeks 4 days ago||Scheduling||
This is all about the schedule. Dave Brandon should have fought to keep either Ohio or Sparty on the schedule every year. This season should have included ND and Sparty at home. Instead, we get Utah and Maryland. Tickets have lost value, why would students want to buy them? StubHub will be jammed with cheap tickets to every home game. That's how I'll buy my tickets this season.

Of course, I wish GRIII the best of luck in his pro career. At the same time, the kid just doesn't look like an NBA player yet. I don't understand what is making these kids declare early, only to risk a second round draft position or no draft position. Sure, money's good but it's good for such a short time. I know, been discussed to death already. I just don't get it, at all.

This has probably been beaten to death, but why not James Young to Michigan?

We watched the 2005 UM v. PSU game at the Great Canadian Pub. If the games are on anywhere, they should be on there. Great location, right on the Seine in central Paris.

I don't understand how Ohio is considered to have a comparable SOS to Michigan. One ranking I saw had Ohio 53 and M 70. Their toughest non-con games were probably Maryland, Marquette, and Wyoming? How can that be tougher than AZ, Duke, FSU, Iowa St, and Stanford? Does outcome factor into SOS?

They love the Value City Furniture. And, they love large retail holding companies. Have you seen their football stadium? Been to a game there? They have a sponsor for "Hang on Sloopy" for gosh sakes. Has a real Times Square feel.

Gosh damn. I thought this would be an informative post about beer, not a plea for help saving coin. What's good? Spring beers?

Yeah, I'd stay downtown. Not much around campus - hotels or decent joints for food. Great places to eat downtown, and in Short North area. If you can swing the Blackwell, it's nice, but may be full this late in the game. I haven't had too much trouble with BBall games down here. They don't really care much, unless the team's in the hunt for a national championship, which, clearly... There was one game a few years ago, with my wife and two very young kids, when an old man put his finger in my face and chanted "just like football". Over, and over. Restraint, my friends. I'm debating going this year, hate the late tip.

All over himself. Fuck Ohio!

They just can't do that to a quarterback.

Someone should tell BM that those gold pants could be worth something in CBus.

The biggest problem with this team wasn't Borges, or the offensive line, or the offense at all. The defense let this team down all season. If the defense stands up at the end of the Penn St and Nebraska games, we win both. If the defense shows up against Ohio, we win that one too. The Copper Bowl was lost in the first quarter, when the defense couldn't get stops. I won't go as far as to say the problem is Mattison. Could be youth, could be talent, could be heart. With a more reliable defense, this team is at least 9-3 with a shot in a better bowl game.

GL XMas has a cult following in central Ohio. People buy large quantities and hoard it. I have never been able to figure this out. Decent beer, but no better than 12 Dogs of XMas or Santa's Private Reserve . I've always preferred Bell's XMas Ale. Lucky for me, everyone's so distracted by GL, I have no problem finding it every year.

There are only two B1G teams that haven't played a ranked team yet - Penn State and Ohio. Of course, this doesn't excuse Michigan's 0-3 record vs. ranked teams this season. Just wonder what our record would be if we played Ohio's schedule. I'd say at least 9-1, if not 10-0. Interesting to look at the differences in scheduling philosophies between the two schools.

So, is this rumor more reliable than previous rumor putting us in Gator Bowl? Hate the late start.

Meyer was asked last night when he decided to suspend Hall. After a long pause, he said "a while ago". One, he didn't decide a while ago. He decided after a week of media scrutiny. If he intended to suspend him, announce Monday and move on. And, B, he needed Hall to be dressed and ready if Elfking went down . No way he wants to play a third string lineman or shift line in championship game. It'd be interesting to ask Hall when he knew he'd miss the game. I bet he knew when the clock hit zero.

For those of us in Columbus, The Football Fever provides more delicious tears. Players, coaches, media all shell shocked. Clearly banked on NC game. Urbz recruiting from the podium, "loves these kids so much." Classic.

DirecTV guide in Columbus is listing the KState v TX game on schedule tonight. Columbus is clearly in Michigan territory on ABC coverage map. Help?!

Video doesnt' look that bad, but he still hit a woman. Regardless of Urban's response to this, it will shape his future at Ohio and the future of the kids he "leads". If his punishment is too severe, he may scare away other talented kids with a tendancy towards trouble. If his punishment is too lenient, he'll continue to sign these kids, but will develop a culture in which kids aren't afraid to step out of line. I, personally, like that Coach Hoke has dismissed Stonum, suspended Hagerup for a season, suspended Hawthorne and Floyd for the Outback Bowl, etc. I also like that Michigan recruits talented kids with great character. It's an interesting debate - win at all costs v. win with character. I believe this area (central Ohio) won't tolerate regular player arrests in exchange for victories and championships, but we'll see.
Call me old (I'm not that old), but the most disturbing part of that video is dudes watching/pointing/yelling at scantily dressed college girls shaking their asses on a stage. I'd hate to see my daughter on that stage, she ain't going to college. Ever.

As a resident of this town, I have been subjected to many a broadcast by Mindy Drayer. She is, without a question, one of the biggest Bucknut slappies around these here parts. If she says that Hyde made contact with a person, girl or boy, you can flat book it. If it maybe happened, she would have said it didn't. At all. Per Urban's strict discipline guidelines, Hyde will be suspended until Ohio plays a game that matters. Then, and only then, will Carlos Hyde redeem himself in Urban's extraordinarily critical eyes. Just like that Patriot guy did. Just like that.
