My complete psychobable theory is this. Hutch can see what we do, Betsa looks tight and off her game, but she keeps starting her for 1 main reason, the next 2 years. Michigan graduates 2 Pitchers and 2 catchers, leaving a battery of Betsa (jr), Blanco (Soph, highly rated pitcher who hasnt pitched in college) and an incoming freshman (Crockett). Freshman in softball very often do well and even star, but ideally you want your junior pitcher to be the unquestioned ace. So Coach Hutch starts Betsa hoping she either figures it out, or if not then the offense picks her up possibly saving her confidence for the next 2 years. Until last night it was working out, and might have worked again but for some unusual mistakes. While I'd like to see them do whatever it takes to win right damn now, Coach Hutch is responsible for her players as individuals and the program beyond just this year so she is doing whats best for that. You may now get off my couch, and that will be 900 dollars.
