Canadian electronic retailers are reporting this now?

This is a well conceived thread.

I am a Temple alum (did my doctoral work there) but I have spent much time at Villanova /Main Line. I reserve a particular hatred for Villanova but its mostly related to Jay Wright and Rollie Massamino.

I noted a few weeks back that the Tiedman and Formby Glen Rice retro jersey had been discounted to $98. I wondered why...
Original looks better.

FWIW, Schiano has a stronger resume than Narduzzi and is experienced recruiting the East Coast. Narduzzi is clearly talented but has no offensive upside...would be interesting to see him put together a staff (and who he takes out of EL, obviously).
The Sparty myth making and narrative about Narduzzi would be interesting: either a) it's Dantonio who makes the D and they can "live without him" or b) their defense will be a question mark with him gone. Since no Sparty is rational, I'm predicting every single one of them goes with a.

My sense is that with the AD offering season ticket packs to anyone who bought a 3 game package last summer they are looking for pretty much anyone who will commit to the season tix. Brandon's focus on families attending one game a year at the expense of the season ticket holders (like myself) disenfranchised a large segment of the base. I think even with a Harbaugh hire it will be difficult to get back to 2007 levels and the waiting list etc.
If Harbaugh is retained you want season ticket packs only b/c the cost on Sparty/tOSU etc. will be truly ridiculous. I don't think it will be hard to get back in though.

Niners could have held onto his rights to prevent him going to Oakland or Atlanta or a team in the NFC, for example. They could have given him a front office job, paid him his $5 mil and moved on. Why wouldn't they come to an agreement with Harbaugh about his termination? Last thing they want is for him to go somewhere in the NFL and be successful. Michigan is not threatening to them; it would make sense for them to agree to "part ways" with JH as long as JH coaches at the NCAA level.
|3 days 8 hours ago||Hmmmmmm....||
Niners could just as easily work out some contractual language or understanding that JH does not coach in the NFL for x years under some financial penalty. They hold the leverage here and I suspect, if the word that Hackett was working through their office, some sort of agreement was reached.

I call BS. Not when they could trade him and get value...unless they absolutely know he is going to Michigan and have an agreement on buyout with Hackett. Further, they'd need some agreement that he not work in the pros for x number of years or they receive some monetary compensation from Harbaugh etc.

Fearless Leader gets a lot of hits but anyone who thinks random threads on a discussion board (one of many, I might add) have an impact is completely deluding themselves.

Guys over there been right on recruiting/firing more than not over time. That is my observation based on a little too much Michigan internet time.
Odd message board though...no "gut feeling" from these guys. Just directly to the point.

This is odd homer driven logic BJR
So, you're saying that if they both coach college football that Harbaugh's pro accomplishments don't matter? Or are these irrelevant?
Most "coaching careers" are going to be evaluated across all coaching roles. In this way, Pete Carroll was, until he won his Superbowl, considered an amazing/morally bankrupt college coach but a failed NFL coach due to his New England experience. Similarly, Saban, for all his dominance at Alabama (and his soon to be 2014 National Championship) is still considred by most to have "failed" as an NFL coach.
Harbaugh is obviously an excellent professional coach (NFC Championship, multiple playoff appearances) and these are accomplishments Urban Meyer cannot really compare. Similarly, Meyer has won two MNC while at Florida and these are things Harbaugh, for all his excellence at Stanford, cannot compare.
I'd expect recruits to enjoy these competing narratives for years.

While I would like Harbaugh to come to Michigan for the right reasons I acknowledge that the competition level in the NFL is the "highest level" at every position.

Interesting to see the NFL paid World Wide Leader smack down Marcellus Wiley after he spoke out on the Harbaugh topic. He probably isn't "scoop interested" but the ESPN/NFL is interested in message control...
