Would be confident in the personnel of his 'Damn Strong' Michigan team in autumn of 2015.
(Also: note coach using headset for strategy purposes)
|2 days 18 hours ago||I was thinking about this on the walk to the stadium Saturday||
DG has had more offensive coordinators than I have had tailgate locations over the last five years.
Of course, Shane also gets a new OC, likely, next year...
|3 days 3 hours ago||Heh.||
Banishing "dumpster fire" will cause those who favor that term to become "butt hurt".
|3 days 4 hours ago||Meh.||
Calm down OP.

This givng up fo 120 next week seems an entirely likely outcome.

I think it's going to take me a long time from downtown Canada to arrive in AA.

"what matters is what other prospects does Miss St. think they can get"
This is a sort of zero sum approach to recruiting and you're not wrong in that sense in terms of how Miss St. is approaching it. I point out the other offers of this student because he is clearly elite (except in the eyes of the 3 star mafia) so his not being "good enough" is certainly debateable.
What matters, perhaps, is the ethics of oversigning. If you're comfortable with seeing it as a one way street, where 16 days before graduation a coach can pull a kid's scholarship then we might as well move on to a system of early signing and binding agreements.
I'd say this thing is broken; the SEC and Mullen's approach...more than unethical, borders on cruel.

Did you even look at the kid's offer sheet? "In the bst interests of Miss St."
I suppose they wouldn't want a quarterback with offers from Arizona State, Auburn, Boise State, Clemson, Colorado, Florida, Missouri, Nebraska, SMU and Texas?
Mullen is a tool.

I do not like that.

Even our kids like the snow games up here.
|5 days 19 hours ago||This. All Day This.||
Part of me is sad they scheduled the Michigan game for Saturday. It would be a good day to be out.
|5 days 19 hours ago||Kind of hoped it would be colder/more snow||

You're calling bs? Ease up with the tone there killer.
Lost Lettermen provides some coverage on this; that Casteel grew up about 2 hours from Morgantown and "cited his family and comfort in West Virginia as reasons for staying"
I think the Rich Rod Revisionists would like to frame his failings in the Defensive and Special Teams phases as somewhow external to him, institutionally driven etc. This is patently ridiculous and particularly given Scott Shafer's ability to work everywhere but with Rodriguez.
As this article notes, Casteel would have taken a significant pay raise to come to Michigan as occurred for all of his assistants (including Barwis, Magee etc.).
"On why he'd come to Arizona after turning down Michigan in 2008: "That's a good question. I just think that things had changed a bit, and I think that it was tiem to move away from West Virginia and move on to this challenge."

First, Rodriguez is ultimately responsible for his team's performance in all three phases: offense, defense and special teams. His teams were only relevant on offense. That's on him,

Please get off the whole "Lloyd's influence" issue.

They were systemic, all right.

My Temple Owls beat Louisiana Tech 82 - 75
Duke, you're next (again).

Michigan culture didn't kill RichRod.
Lack of defense killed RichRod.
|1 week 2 days ago||@MGoJen||
The Rodriguez problem wasn't a Michigan Man issue...at least not initially. Rod's problems were that he didn't field a god damned defense which offended anyone with an inkling of knowledge of Michigan history and the fact that defense and special teams are the other two facets of the game besides offense.
Rod didn't really figure out that last part. Would he have done better if he'd have understood the defense part and the priority of it to the Michigan culture? Short answer: yes.
