It seems Ohio State has struggled for years at cheating.

Good thing they finally hired a professional.

All these years…I remember 97…this is so much joy.

I mean, he can spend that NIL money however he wants. However, not sure these things are meeting the $100 cost.

Feels kinda like it may meet the fate of this late 80's gem...

For years Ramzy was the…

For years Ramzy was the insufferable, full of himself fanboy leader/sychophant of OSU football. He was basically Gerdeman without the funny parts. Somehow, he seemed even less self-aware. His writing too often a combination of snarky and dismissive and he happily wallpapered over all of the dirty, the scandals, the cars/weed/money and the path that OSU took to win under Tressel and Meyer.

I'm not sure Ramzy was even aware that one day the worm would turn. That the 80's/90's of Michigan dominance happened. That, if Gary Moeller hadn't had a few drinks one night, it probably would have lasted a lot longer. Ramzy's presentism and his willingness to forgive every transgression just for the win exposes him as the worst of the Ohio State fanbase. It's sad he has platform.

Enjoy a few years in the football wilderness kid.

I think this makes sense and…

I think this makes sense and, if you looked at past opponents at a neutral site, you would definitely favour both Alabama and Ohio State (Marv version) over Washington. Hard to say about Penn State.

Their record this season versus an average Pac 10 doesn't inspire a lot of confidence once they play anyone with an actual defense.

Third Base is overrated but he's lost 8 games in his entire tenure at OSU (and in the B1G only to Michigan).

He's not a bad coach (way better than Frames) but these people expect him to equal Urban (and that's just not going to be possible in a NIL era where, previously, only Ohio State had "weed, cars and tats" NIL, abeit without NCAA knowledge or consent.)

Let's say they replace him and the next guy isn't to this level...then what? You love to see it.

Times have changed a bit, too.

t(tm)OSU had been running a NIL program very effectively under both Tressel and Meyer. Other teams are able to run these (legally) now. As well, the rise of analyst roles (a long term NFL role) and pro level scouting has somewhat contributed to levelling matters.

College football, for better or worse, is slowly morphing toward an NFL business model and it is unclear if teams who long-term took advantage of the loopholes (t(tm)OSU, Alabama etc.) will still thrive in the changing landscape of (essentially) player free agency and NFL talent evaluation.

BOG to consider contract extension for Gee | WVU News | thedaonline.com

While I am sure this would…

While I am sure this would please the t(tm)OSU fans it's almost always a bad decision for running backs to stay any longer than necessary in College. The stats bear out a career expectancy in the league is limited and, as such, earlier the entry then sooner to second contract (if possible) as that is where the real money is located. Corum coming back (post surgery) made sense if only because the league would have markedly downgraded him mid-rehab. No injury last season he would have had to leave.

If Henderson is made of balsa wood, however, perhaps an extra year of t(tm)OSU NIL is the right move for him.

Thank you Logan for this…

Thank you Logan for this interesting question. In my real life as a Michigan fan; I'm actually a long-time season ticket holder and lifelong advocate for chair backs and related stadium expansion. This is the hill I will die on as a fan.

I do, however, have two friends who are t(tm)OSU alums if that counts.

Anyway, I think that is a very very good operation that Michigan beat a few weeks ago. I, like probably all of us, detest their miscreant fanbase and overall corrupt leadership. That said, I can acknowledge a very good team that a *better* Michigan team beat.

Go Blue.

I think recency bias takes…

I think recency bias takes over here for a lot of fans and, quite regrettably, for the playoff committee. Alabama is the 18th ranked total defense and a quick perusal of the more advanced stats paints an even less favourable picture. This team was tooled up pretty good by Auburn (Auburn!) and our old friend Payton Thorne (who ran for 56 of the almost 250 rushing yards that team put on Alabama).

Alabama beat a Georgia team that had struggled with Auburn and Georgia Tech and whose best win in an epically weak schedule was vs. Missouri. They are there on reputation. Michigan is not.

I would tend to agree with…

I would tend to agree with this assertion.

Sharp money going to come in heavy on Michigan -2.5/3 (which I think completely reasonable when you look at the analytics). This is a very Jeckyl and Hyde Alabama operation. ESS EEE CEE loyalist and amateur money going to balance that out. I assume line won't move a lot unless there are injuries. Maybe B1G and NCAA get into it again.

Of interest for the degenerates out there:

t(tm)OSU is favoured -6.5 over Missouri and this line should be *a lot* more but I suspect Vegas is speculating how many Buckeye players won't suit up. The O/U of 51.5 feels like what t(tm)OSU would themselves score if their starters were involved. Read into that what you will.

Arizona (good shit, Jedd) is favoured -1.5 over Oklahoma with an interesting O/U of 64.5. Vegas putting some respect on Jedd's name.

I'd comment about the upcoming Sparty bowl game but I can't seem to find it...
