The point is simple - understand everything you can about the field of medicine. If you're passionate about medicine then you'll be fine. Medicine, today, is much different than it was five years ago and no one knows where it will be in five years. The only saving grace is passion. Good luck

26 weeks 3 days ago	Well...you're right	Well...you're right, as are the other 2 responses. The last thing we want to do after something like this is to think about it and talk about it. We'll do what we've been doing for decades-ignore gun violence. This was a seminal event and to lock the thread and prevent the discussion about this topic is wrong. So we'll keep talking about the mundane things that border on trivia and ignore the fact that 15,000 people are killed every year in the US as the result of gun violence. And unless we have a broad based, widespread discussion focusing on gun violence events like this will continue. Sometime in the future, unless things change, there will be repeat of what we saw today. We'll wring our hands and stomp our feet but unless we talk about it nothing will change. I've lived very close to Newtown. I've seen gun violence up close. I just want the discussion. So, open the locked thread. Do the right thing.

The notion that this site decides to resrict the discussion of this seminal event is unfortunate. I understand the 'ground rules' but what happened today demands a careful consideration of these ground rules. This discussion needs to take place and it needs to supplant the discussions that take place here every day.

There's no tuition at Air Force which is what a scholarship effectively represents. The implication that Air Force has lesser athletes because they don't offer scholarships is ignorant. They have smaller players for obvious reasons and they have a lot of smart, great athletes.

1 year 24 weeks ago	Women	The new women's coach needs to look at some of the 2013's from here in Michigan. There are some very good athletes from the Detroit area, Okemos and Grand Rapids. In fact the 2013's went down to Naples this fall and went undefeated beating teams from Connecticut, Massachusetts and Virginia. I know the head coach is from Maryland and she helped develop Florida with recruits from the northeast but she should take a look at Okemos, East GR, Rockford and Catholic Central
