I've never heard of "suspicion of a misdemeanor assault" sounds kind of vague. Also, if striking a security guard is a misdemeanor, it must have been a relatively minor strike.
Sheesh, we have Laird catching, Cabrera at first, any others?
Tigers like to party.
Chicago Sun-Times; August 10, 1997 ; 700+ words... list of the top 25 players in the nation, 15 of them would be quarterbacks." Only two of the top 30 are committed - Drew Henson of Brighton, Mich., to Michigan and Ryan Van Dyke of Marshall, Mich., to Michigan State. Along with Cory Paus of Lincoln ...

This thread made this thought pop into my head. When Michigan signed Henne and MSU signed Van Dyke, Pat Caputo claimed against all odds that Van Dyke was the better recruit because he had a higher vertical
I think it is mostly about making money. If I take a look at recruiting rankings, I don't see competitive balance. If I take a look at coaches salary, I don't see competitive balance. If I take a look at facilities, I don't see competitive balance.
If someone wants to underwrite these kids while they are in college, I think it is feasible to do it in a more transparent manner. Take LeBron James and his Nike contract before he even played in the NBA, why not let kids reap the benefit of their skills while in college. It is a fact that Chris Weber made the NCAA extreme amounts of money
Another example using LeBron was the Hummer he was driving that was in his mother's name. Hell if I am a Dealership, I would have approved that deal, LeBron was on the cusp of huge endorsement deals.
Police- call my house daily looking for money.
Politicians- always raising money, donations please!
Preachers- always begging for money, pay your tithe
Players- no no no, you must follow the rules, no money for you.
If some rich deluded SOB gets his thrills by giving money to teen-age boys to attend his alma-mater and star in sports, so be it. the only thing I would ask, is make it transparent, so we can laugh at some of the bad investments these wise boosters make.
Cain't say I was ever mad at Weber or any of the Fab Five. They got caught, shit happens. I don't need an apology from Weber, seems a little self serving there Tater.
If you are really offended by players getting "gifts", lets just drop the pretenses and let them get paid, cause it is gonna happen anyway.
Sam is great but Sam is a salesman also. Sam tends to over-hype possibilities. I remember when we were "Big Back Hunting" and Latimore was seriously considering us, according to Sam. Still I love listening to him, he is informative, friendly, and entertaining
Belien does not feel pressure concerning job security.
Horford IMHO is a more important recruit than Ziegler. We really need size and rebounding.
Next years front court could very well be Smotrycz, Horford and Novak
just to the right of where the video is playing on YouTube you will see an URL and below that EMBED.
Copy and paste what is inside of EMBED to your comment box and it will post the video.
I am not a recruiting guy but agree with you. Seems you would want to average about 4 OL per year. Next year should be easy to sell to OL, they sit 2 years and have a good shot at PT over the next 3 years.
This thread will eventually spawn the following thread "we will have 2 1000 yard rushers next season". Groupthink round these parts can be pretty strong sometimes.
Ima gonna wait and see. Ima movin to Mizzou
It sure was better than undersized players getting there butts whupped on a weekly basis.
Those fat asses may have sniffed a lot of pizza, but they never sniffed 8-16
I concur wholeheartedly, Tate didn't have shit on his throws after his shoulder injury. Tate was throwing the ball like Jeff Garcia, yuk.
I am concerned with Tate's ability to stay healthy, if healthy, he will be good. Less runs for Tate would be nice, we have a stable of young backs and slots, let them do the brunt of the running.
Excellent idea! I'm quite sure the coaches will have Tate and Denard putting in long long hours this summer working on the zone read.
Maybe some text message reminders: Get your ass out of class and work on the zone read now dammit.
Maybe Rosenberg can stop by at spring practice and ask Devin, "so Devin buddy, they working you pretty hard?"
I think your argument is a false dichotomy, not getting an offer from a coach does not necessitate the coach being a skeptic of the players abilities or talent.
Well they certainly wouldn't start from the lines and go in. ok enough of my hapless humor. Offenses will attack and exploit any weaknesses they can, but I do get your point.
Denard is like Jimmy Johns he is freaky fast and can multi-task like a mutha. No Problemo for are bilingual participants.
Better running some sprints than go to the bar and hangin. Ricky Leach played some baseball and I guess so did Michael Taylor. Beisbol is more labor intensive than Track.
I am also a Denard fan cuz he even has a quick smile!
IMHO, Tennessee took what they thought was high risk, high reward gamble with Kiffin and they lost. Now Tennessee has short notice and limited options so they go with a relative unknown in Dooley.
Tennessee AD has to be reeling at this moment, This moves buys him time to get things in order and settled. If Dooley is not going to work out at least he provides a short term gap to explore better options at a manageable pace.
