The same people that gave us 97.1

Media sure is loving this story, it made front page news on all the recruiting websites including on Yahoo. Also, it's today's #1 most popular column on freep.com with over 100 verified comments.

Yes

It was Drew Sharp who asked first and also had a follow up. Then it was Jeff Riger with the final question. I think DB has done a pitiful job with this situation, they should've answered the questions yesterday and ended it there. Now with this presser, Sharp got himself another "most popular column" on freep.com.

I guess its too early to tell since he's still playing

But, I would have to agree.

He was another kid that grew up a Michigan fan but his coach hated the previous staff.

Riger just loves to stir up

Riger just loves to stir up contoversy. He always got Jim Leyland riled up asking dumb questions. I get that its his job to do this but he really makes an ass of himself.

Great for argument on Sharp's

Great for argument on Sharp's FreeP column (btw he'll get the most hits and comments) and sports talk radio beating this topic to death. It has been the number one topic on 97.1, Valenti now asking if MSU football has officially surpassed Michigan. Later on, Jamie and Wojo will take calls on... who's the better coach Beilein or Dantonio?

You have a point

This presser almost felt like RR era part two. The only thing missing was Hoke telling them to be more positive. I hope this staff learned their lesson, no more excuses you either win next season or its over for them. It might also be the end for Brandon... who knows if the new president would be willing to let him pick a new coach.

Sharp and Fithian were a

Sharp and Fithian were a disgrace. Signing day presser and they just kept on negging with the Gibbons questions (which Hoke clearly stated that he was not gonna answer). Once again it feels like the Michigan/Detroit media just love to be negative no matter what. You really don't see stuff like this in places like Columbus, Austin, Tallahassee etc...

Everyone felt that way about

Everyone felt that way about Hand. Remember this post about his trip to Ann Arbor? http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/hand-settle-burrell-utl2-trip

After reading that I was 99.9% sure he was coming here. Sadly something went wrong and we lost him...

I also like Watson

He was the #1 performer at the Pennsylvania SWAG 7-on-7 tournament that included: Canteen, Godwin (PSU), Nicholson (MSU), Samuel (OSU) and Sills (USC).

Campbell committed way too

Campbell committed way too early (probably got hyped up on the visit and influenced by Cole)  and he's from Florida. I just knew he would want to visit FSU especially after the season they had.

Hand, I would agree with. Maybe if we had a 10 win season he's a Wolverine but Saban has sent a lot of top players to the NFL and it seems like that was his biggest goal.

Harris decommitted because we fired Borges (his coach and Al were close) but there is still time to win him back and I don't think losing had much of an impact with him.

Malik McDowell has always liked MSU. He formed a great relationship with Nardzuzzi and might have committed to them earlier if it wasn't for his parents. We did everything to land the kid, ( I'm sure Mattison and Hoke did their best) but this was a case where the kid did not want to come here. We just have to accept it and move on.

Next season is very important. We have to win at least 9 games and must win a big road game. Just win in Columbus fergodsakes... we have not won there since Drew Henson was our QB.

After the season we had, I

After the season we had, I would say this was a very good class. The only thing missing was a DE and maybe RB. If we had gotten Hand, it would have been an A, now I would give it a B. I think we got spoiled early...

and Lawrence Thomas.

and Lawrence Thomas.

I disagree

Would still love to have Webb but IMO getting Peppers offsets that loss. Malik is someone at a position of need and is a big loss especially since we didn't get Hand.

insider info

From one of the premium message boards.

The guy coached gang rapists (Chris Boyd case) at Vanderbilt and now coaches at the school infamous for shielding and enabling a child rapist. I understand negative recruiting happens but in this situation it really makes you wonder.

He has been all MSU for a while now

Not only that but I honestly believe all this "drama" is fake. The kid has wanted to go there and his parents seem to be really enjoying the attention of the recruiting process. Good luck to him either way.

Can't wait to see this kid in

Can't wait to see this kid in the winged helmet...

thank god the kid loves michigan

A big FU to James Franklin and his negative recruiting aka spreading rumors to Peppers that Michigan may face sanctions and Hoke may be fired for the Gibbons situation. I hope Hoke remembers this when we play them in the fall.
