This was never really an issue, I held upper bowl tickets one year and the solution is pretty easy, you just show up a half hour early. Once you are there a little early the ushers won't check your ticket, cause they understand why you are there early, and you go find a seat in the 30s. The 30s were always best cause people would fight for the front row and the next 20 rows were packed to the gills with drunks puking and falling against you the whole game screamin for Denard when the defense was on the field
As someone who held season tickets two years ago in both sports its pretty fair to say people care a lot more about one than the other. I don't think enough students held basketball tickets a few years ago to fill in the student section and now they are lined up hours early. If bandwagon fans are all of a sudden willing to stand out in the cold for hours for a basketball ame, I bet you will see people lined up for UTL 2 by about 2 AM (it'll be a convenient place to pass out after Ricks)
I thought he called an amazing game, and I thought he introduced a lot of great new plays and I was so happy to see a coaching staff that was in it to win it, rather than just not lose. However, do you really agree with ever putting someone in at QB who can't throw the ball?
Anybody else really excited that Justice is getting his fair share of snaps. With Fitz out I think it would be crucial to have a guy like Justice contribute. I like Thomas, but with a questionable interior line I can't see him running over or wearing down Alabama players, I like our chances more with a shifty guy in the backfield that will be able to contribute. I think Rawls will be a damn good back in other parts of our schedule once the line starts to gel more and hes not facing one of the best defensive lines in the country.
Actually they are nothing alike, I'm not saying Jim is a bad guy, but it is nothing like poker. Galarraga had a chance to throw a perfect game in the big leagues, he had a chance to go down in the history books, I think it probably meant a lot more to him than the car, and he would have gotten the contract if the call was correct and he had gotten the perfect game he deserved.
This does not mean I do not like Joyce or think that he is bad guy, but the fact remains that Galarrage got screwed out of a perfect game that he earned.
Its especially true when you consider Alabama was a non factor when this whole SEC reign started. Then you look at Auburn who had a Juco transfer and had one good year, they were pretty mediocre last season. Florida, who won 2 national championships are meh now. The only team that has been consistent through this SEC "dominance" has been LSU.
Edit: This is meant to say that the reign can't last because new good teams are not going to keep popping up.
The one thing that I have always loved about college football is how important the regular season is, a loss on any given week can ruin your whole season which makes watching every single game that much more exciting. I think four is the perfect amount because in all reality if you are outside the top four, its hard to make a real case that you are the best team in the nation. I really doubt the 24th place team in the FCS can make an argument that they are or had the best regular season.
I agree, I am just glad he is moving, I had a sick feeling earlier but it sounds like football or not he is going to be fine. While it doesn't matter in the big picture, there is a fair chance that it isn't nearly as serious as you think and he could end up back on the field in a few weeks.
Are you a doctor? I played DE in HS and sustained a concussion and was blacked out on the field and they took me to the hospital in an ambulance because they were worried I had fractured my neck, as it turned out I was fine and started practicing again after 2.5 weeks.
Yea Im aware, and Im surprised I havn't been negged to hell yet, I did clearly state that I wouldn't try and compare those two incidents, I was only saying that Fitz was caught over the limit, he could have seriously hurt someone or himself. I think MIPs and other laws that really don't affect peoples safety can be dismissed as kids being kids. Driving over the limit affects peoples lives, it is not something to be taken lightly.
Try not to overreact here but aren't we in the middle of teaching PSU that football isn't all powerful. I am not trying to compare the two incidents, I'm just pointing out that football isn't all powerful, Fitz blew over the legal limit, it seems pretty simple that he needs to be punished, and not just extra running. Clark OTOH may be inocent, thats one that you will have to let the legal system work out.

I don't think you're gonna get many fans around here, you choose to put being a DJ in front of the game, you deserve to sit a little farther back.

So you have been a fan of college football for about 3, maybe 4 years right?
While the country may not be betting on us September 1st, I have to believe the majority will be rooting for us.
Scary headline right there.
