double post for Brian Kelly being twice the knob of any man...except Dantonio.
|6 days 25 min ago||B Kelly....||
Granted, Brian Kelly turns purple and is way more of a knob, but let's just keep it in the back of our minds how much shit we gave his implosions. I'd rather have a psychotic nut job on the sidelines than a clapping seal, but let's try not to be too big of hypocrites.

"Welll......he may run 4.4 40s and hit like a man....but he needs to get a little more consistent with his technique in practice before he gets to play....b/c we're playing for our seniors.....and he needs to practice well for our seniors.....because theyre all going to be great leaders and fathers...and he needs to be more consistent in his technique." - BH

I'm pretty sure that UCLA being significantly better at football over the last few years at a higher ranked undergraduate institution and being in Westwood, CA might have played some roles in their recruiting victories.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Grad program or burnt out....||
I would wager a decent sum that he either a) got into a good grad program that would make football + academics impossible or b) he's just burnt out of football.
If one knows he's not going to be in the NFL, then (b) is certainly a possibility that we do not really recognize here. College is a fun vacation (unless youre in STEM or a douche that unnecessarily studies waaaaaaay too much). Nevertheless, with the demands of a sport, especially football, that whole thing can be incredibly demanding and take the fun out of the university. I know we view playing football for UM as the coolest thing ever, but after 4 years of it, the "cool" factor could wear off and one might just want to be a student for a year.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Little Brother....||
Considering that the concept was dug up and used only in a football context, I would say we are currently the 38 year old older brother getting whooped by his 28 year old younger brother, all while talking about how sweet we were back when the younger brother was hardly walking.
From an academic perspective, except for those few Wes Mantooth like fools in East Lansing who claim "We have a better veterinarian school....and things of that nature," nobody at MSU says they're a better all around university, so no.....theyre not little brother in an academic context. They're just a similarly aged, significantly dumber brother that recognizes this fact.

Duplicate. My B.

Did you really just lump this two year starter with a QB rating of 130 in with two true freshmen, one redshirt freshman, and a guy who has yet to look presentable in a game situation.
This guy will start if he comes. The defense will be awesome and our OC is a run game monster. They'll be looking for a really solid game manager, not a freshman, or even a junior with an inaccurate howitzer.

He needs to prove something before the program gives him any loyalty. He sort of fell in with the Hoke fertilizing millenial attitude. Yes, I know all of the players in college now are millenials....hell I'm one....but the attitude shown by tweets of "Multiple National Championships" (before even setting foot on campus) was not quashed by Hoke's "You've made it b/c this is Michigan and youre going to be a great father and leader someday" mantra.
Hopefully Harbaugh can create an edge in this kid that we haven't seen yet, bc damn he could be good.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Come on guys / gals.....||
There's either a tone of indifference or pleasure around this kid screwing up again. While rcmb probably gets a laugh every time a michigan kid screws up, it doesn't mean we should take pleasure in watching a young guy piss his life away.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Best players will play....||
I just hope to god that our best players and not best practicers with the best gosh darn attitudes will play. I seriously think Hoke benched superior talent for better attitudes, more seniority, and a "great week of practice."
|5 weeks 1 hour ago||That dude's defense....||
That defense of "it's not what you think....just let us kind of in" had way too much of a "just the tip" vibe to it. Don't do it. It won't end well.

Please write a book. It can be a book about anything. While not intended to be a tallest midget statement, you are one hell of a writer for a computer engineer. The last two days have been golden.
|6 weeks 1 day ago||The real question...||
The real question isn't "where are these four stars that haven't seen the field?" As this board has pointed out, 4 stars disappear at every school. The real question is why all of these four stars haven't seen the field while the four stars we have seen look nothing like their peer recruits that went to other schools.
I really think that the strength and conditioning has been abysmal. Whether that's Wellman's fault of a crappy program or Uncle Hoke's fault for creating a culture of satisfaction, who knows. All I know is that I watch other schools playing with far greater speed and "omg shirtless" type muscle than michigan has been putting out there. Given that the 2012s at Alabama/osu looked the same on the Rivals videos as the 2012s at Michigan, there were obvious deficiencies floating around schembechler hall.
|7 weeks 1 day ago||Sorry guys....||
To be fair, if this type of thing happened at any other college, we'd be crying foul and wondering how this isn't compensating a recruit. I'm sure UM did its homework and it's not against NCAA regulations, but this is worth more and has a greater direct impact on a recruit that some Lebron "procured" headphones.
|7 weeks 1 day ago||The scowl....||
Aside from Pete Carroll harnessing 30 5-stars per year on his rosters, find me one great college football coach that doesn't look like an asshole / is an asshole. We had a jolly clapping seal and that didn't turn out so well.

The article was posted 20 mins ago.....Damn sportswriters being 2 days behind and me not having Twitter. Be nice. I tried.
|9 weeks 4 days ago||Stanford....||
Stanford and Michigan are kind of apples and oranges here. I think the Michigan product is big enough and Harbaugh is sweet enough to put a run it at some top quality guys, but Stanford is Stanford. I know a lot of our grad programs are up there, but these kids are going for undergrad, which is in a class of its own, maybe shared by Harvard, Princeton, and Yale.

I love it. You ask a question and a computer engineer at the ready. I've never emailed Brian though. It seems like an intimidating wizard of oz type experience.
|10 weeks 21 hours ago||Twitter updates||
Any way the site can have a small space on the Harbaugh banner just devoted to his latest tweet? Like some sort of auto-update linked to Twitter. That'd be a nice touch.
|10 weeks 2 days ago||Yost....||
I agree in a way. There's nothing wrong with someone having immense pride in their University. But I think if you talk about the history of it, players start to think theyre great before they do anything great (except for having Mike Farrell love them). Cool, you go to the college with the most all time wins. That means nothing for 2015 except that we have the potential to be embarrassed on national tv more often.
Eitther way, Yost was speaking over 100 years ago when there was no professional football and the only people who went to college were rich white kids who were going to be very successful by default since an absurdly low amount of people went to any college, let alone Michigan.
Now you have a much different socioeconomic group of kids playing with this monstrous NFL carrot hanging out there. The carrot is less apt to motivate players if they have these false visions of themselves being the next Gerald Ford b/c their cool Uncle Hoke has been reading them bedtime stories about him.
|10 weeks 2 days ago||Until....||
Until we kick the "This is Michigan" shit that Hoke started, which has yielded a ton of entitlement and players focusing more on using their degrees after college as opposed to getting better at football, we're going to struggle. By all means, use that degree, but don't view it as a fall back if / when football doesnt work out.
I bet Sparty / OSU has way more of the Cuban baseball player "I sure a shit better hit my way off of the island" mentality, which gives them some tough grinders that turn into football manbeasts after 2-3 years.
Hopefully Harbaugh can infuse that Stanford mentality of "you might as well kick ass while you're here even if you are going to go work in biz dev at facebook in 2 years."
|10 weeks 3 days ago||Hogan....||
And if we get Kevin Hogan (it just makes too much sense for it not to happen), we jump to #4 immediately. Given how people in sports and non-sports work harder when playing for a new person (See: 2011), coupled with the recruiting talent that is somewhere hidden deep below the bowels of the M00N game, we could have a really solid year if we can find / mold a decent QB...and if the strength and conditioning coach isnt another blowhard that somehow keeps lean 18 year old linebackers hovering at the same weight for 3 years while talking more about navy seals leadership than crushing bros on the football field.
|11 weeks 22 hours ago||Errrrrr.....||
He belongs there more than any coach. Not only is he a top of the line coach, but his team is the only one in the country that played both of these teams this year.
|11 weeks 1 day ago||Nice||
I like the super star young Harbaugh mold coach. As long as he doesnt get poached for a head job, he could be a great long term replacement should Harbaugh get the ship sailing straight and decides to chase a super bowl in a few years.
|11 weeks 2 days ago||Good point....||
I sense that Hoke recruited heavily on the "This is Michigan" / "Michigan Man" / "Leaders and Best" stuff that if spun the wrong way, then coupled with the awe shucks clapping uncle seal mentality, can breed some really soft self-entitled players. I think Notre Dame has fought this for the last 20 years, especially before Kelly got there.
It'll be interesting to see how the types of kids drawn to Hoke will deal with this new regime.
|11 weeks 3 days ago||Ah come on....||
Creating conjecture about vague crap that a kid and his dad take to the media isn't really rumor mongering crap that makes a "fan base look bad." If these 18-22 year olds don't want people people creating conjecture about them, they should either a) not go to the media after discussions with their coach, or b) go play at Dartmouth. Nobody will bother them there.
