Gardner is the reason I get upset when I think about the Hoke regime. He looked like a future NFL quarterback his sophomore season after he'd been playing WR. The coaching was so bad that by the end of his senior year he was just a guy. So sad.

I think the top three are on a different level in the B1G, but the others are still excellent schools.

I really do hope Morris is successful and I think it would be better for the team if he won the job this year. With that said, has he ever played good football? He hovered around 50% completion during high school and threw a lot of picks. It seems like he got his fifth star because of camp performances and arm strength, not because of actual football.

It should never be a surprise when a QB commits to a Sumlin-coached offense.

To get the gifs, I do one of the following:
1. Use gifcam to capture the frames from a video
2. Download a pre-existing gif
3. Create the individual frames (Pokemon, Final Fantasy)
Next comes the process of editing the individual layers on GIMP (which is free). I'm sure you could do it on photoshop or any number of other expensive programs, but I'm cheap. At first it takes a loooooong time, but eventually you get the hang of it. Regarding monetization, perhaps, but I like education too much to abandon that.

I think the offense will really take off if Jim Harbaugh loosens up and commits to doing Butt-stuff.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think Borges did a pretty good job with Devin. The OL and subsequent QBPTSD was the entire problem. He was a very productive QB until he started getting his skull caved in every week by giant men who were unblocked, and he still occasionally put up monster numbers when the team decided to block.
Nuss on the other hand? I'm not exactly sure what that guy was doing. The running game got better, but Jesus that passing offense was anemic. Did we have a pass longer than 7 yards in the playbook?

I think BR recently hired actual writers, so it isn't 95% trash anymore.

Gardner looked so good as a sophomore after playing half of a year at WR. Sad.

Last I heard, he intended to come here for med school after transferring. I don't know where he stands on that, but he's a really smart dude.

For all the talking Nuss did about explosive plays, he sure didn't design many passing plays that were longer than 5-6 yards. It will be interesting to watch him at Florida this year. What he gave us was puke.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||Exactly. Baylor was one of||
Baylor was one of the few teams equipped to exploit MSU's weaknesses last year. While their defense was merely above average last year, their offense was one of the best in the country. Now they are loaded in the trenches on both sides of the ball with a senior QB. UM fans have been predicting a collapse for MSU football since their first 11-win season and they have one abnormal 6-6 season where their team lost a bunch of games by a hair.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||What's not to get? In||
What's not to get? In back-to-back years they've won the Cotton Bowl and the Rose Bowl. They're coming off a season with a top-5 offense and they return a senior quarterback. Also, they have 21 RS seniors and extremely talented lines on both sides of the ball.
I hate MSU, but I don't get how people can still not get it.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||Unfortunately, I agree that||
Unfortunately, I agree that the loss of Narduzzi means relatively little. Dantonio was the DC when Ohio State won their title in 2002 and that's why I think he's the evil genius behind their defense. I think this is once again an 11 win team with a loss to Ohio State in the regular season.
Then again, HARBAUGH.

|3 weeks 5 days ago||I think neither the #10||
I think neither the #10 ranking nor the advanced metrics paint the best picture. Top 10 defenses don't make Gary Nova look like Tom Brady. At the same time, there's no way there were 39 defenses better than ours last year. We had our weaknesses for sure (secondary), but I still think we were a top 25 defense.

Baxter's MgoBlue bio is porn. It makes you realize that such things can happen regularly. Check this out:
During Baxter's four-year run at USC, the Trojans excelled in a number of special teams categories and a slew of his players collected national accolades. In 2013, USC ranked second in the country in blocked punts (three) and fourth in blocked kicks (six). The Trojans also scored three punt return touchdowns and allowed zero punt return yards in eight of 14 games, while holding two other opponents to five yards or less. Under Baxter's guidance, punt returner Nelson Agholor tied a Pac-12 record with two scoring punt returns at California, and finished the game with a USC-record 168 punt return yards. Baxter also coached USC's tight ends in 2013.
In 2012, the Trojans notched four blocked kicks, including one returned for a touchdown, and posted a scoring kickoff return. USC also ranked fourth in the nation in kickoff returns (26.4 avg.) and punter Kyle Negrete, a finalist for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, helped the Trojans rank 29th in the country in net punting (38.6 avg.).

There is something magical about D'Antoni's face as he literally watches Jim Harbaugh play grab-ass on the main screen. This is the best coach they've ever had, people.

It's not like the dude has just stumbled his way through a weak B1G and gotten smoked in bowls. They've also won their last four bowls. Why is it so hard for so many of our fans to admit that the guy who resurrected a trash program and made it nationally relevant is one of the best coaches in the country?
