He pleaded down to reckless driving on June 11, 2014. While a senior football player at the University of Louisville, Scruggs was arrested on a DUI charge in 2011 and dismissed from the team before the Belk Bowl, according to several reports.

I have just been made aware on Saturday they do a cruller doughnut, Sunday they do the chocolate glazed yeast and sweet ricotta filled doughnuts. All three are only about two bucks each.

We care about him. He expressed a desire to make good money as soon as possible. Per his research, outside of CS and engineering, Ross seemed like a good path. But he may not get into Ross and also, even if he does, there are a lot of paths once there. And finance and tech landscapes seem to be evolving pretty rapidly, so maybe alumni here have a good idea of what puts him in a good space 2024-2028.
I don’t think bottom quartile or decile of his UM class profile suggests he’ll flunk out of UM. It’s just knowing what I know about his title one high school and his test scores, he is not a teen from International Academy, Cranbrook or some East Coast boarding school with a 1,550 SAT score and 30 college credits after perfect scores on ten AP exams. He is the top student at his title one high school but UM is full of elbowy kids from ultra competitive backgrounds. I just wanted everyone to be mindful of that context so nothing possibly too unrealistic is mentioned.
Ross admissions have changed. I think most of the class is admitted out of high school now. And maybe a handful are cross-campus transfers after freshman year.
That is what concerns me. UM has everything and is excellent for aggressive students, but it can also seem large and overwhelming to students from his background. I think following a well-plowed path might be a better game plan for him. As in, as long as you do X, Y and Z you will land lucrative internships and job offers. I’m trying to figure out some X, Y, and Zs I can share with him.

The big plan to save the regional campus is an insignificant $10 million building (the first new building in 20 years) and a vague commitment of “up to $100 million”? That is not a serious effort for a campus so behind its peers.
