"It's a lot easier being a drug dealer than an AAU coach" - this guy. Tell me something I don't know. I mean, don't think but have never tried either.

Gonna go with Shane Morris. Kid looked sharp. Can't wait to see how he'll look after a couple years of Nussmeier's tutelage.
|36 weeks 5 days ago||Funny . . .||
But probably true. At least partly.
|36 weeks 5 days ago||Hey||
Blech browser double posted.
|36 weeks 5 days ago||Hey||
I have no problem with little brother getting a few now and then. Especially if it results in Ohio defeat. I really don't like Dantonio, but congrats to the kids.
|37 weeks 4 days ago||True||
But what about instant classics against OSU? Gotta dig deep for that. 1997, I guess?
|37 weeks 4 days ago||Hmmmm||
I am still pretty down on Borges. I think you play to win every game. But a very strong showing in the bowl could change my mind, I suppose.
|37 weeks 5 days ago||Mad props||
For Brian and the MGoBlog. You make the football season that much more enjoyable for all of us.

|37 weeks 5 days ago||Stood the whole game||
In section 26 row 30-ish. Yelled my head off for every defensive play too. Atmosphere was awesome.
|37 weeks 6 days ago||No.||
I think Al needs to go. He can't wait until The Game every time to call a decent game.
|37 weeks 6 days ago||Yeah||
There is that as well.
|37 weeks 6 days ago||Didn't agree||
With the call to go for two. Well, I was okay with it if we could catch them off guard, but after they have a TO to set up. No. However . . . if the players called it, then I guess it's forgivable.

Will they be able to execute them? Heh.
|38 weeks 5 hours ago||Michigan can't get into the end zone . . .||
Wins 24-21 on Gibbons 8 field goals.
Kidding. Optimistically, Michigan wins 24-21 (just one field goal). Probably more realistically, Ohio wins 35-17.
|38 weeks 3 days ago||Even if you factor in Carr's '95-'96||
. . . seasons you only add two more 10+ point losses, both against a very formidable Penn State.
|38 weeks 4 days ago||I am||
My dad and myself and a brother and a cousin got student section tickets. We'll be yelling our heads off and trying to will our Wolverines on to victory over the evil empire.
|39 weeks 1 day ago||It's the uniforms.||
I blame the NW uniforms. Sorta kidding, but I can barely see them on the screen because they're the same shade as the field. I always wonder how opponent uniform camoflage affects QB reading and recognition.
|40 weeks 5 days ago||Right||
I didn't say he'd do it. But I would have loved to have seen what Michigan's team could have become if Rich Rod was relieved of all thing defense related (including hiring) and was just given the offense to run.
|40 weeks 5 days ago||Ideal OC||
Rich Rodriguez. Only partly kidding.

You can keep Grossman. I don't want him. I was one of the Brian Griese voices that season, all season.
|47 weeks 5 days ago||Yeah, too bad||
Devin had an on the money long ball to Chesson tonight and Jehu slows down while the ball is in the air. They'll improve their timing over the season, I'm sure (I hope).
|47 weeks 5 days ago||Dude, chill . . .||
EDIT: Whoops, thought you were talking to me.
|47 weeks 5 days ago||What game were you watching?||
Our D had a ton of 3rd down stops tonight. And at least two sacks.
|47 weeks 5 days ago||If our offense doesn't turn the ball over . . .||
. . . we might have a shutout. You keep giving them the ball in good field position without scoring, you build their confidence.
|47 weeks 5 days ago||D was good||
Greg Mattison did his job this week.
|48 weeks 4 days ago||Vanilla-ball vs. Play-out-of-our-minds||
I am curious about the UFR, but I am wondering how much of Saturday's near-debacle was due to the focus of practices over the week and the plays prepared for. I think the coaches expected to simply out-power and out-execute Akron. Which didn't happen.
And when that doesn't happen, you have to just hang in there and keep trying to execute the gameplan. It isn't like playing a video game where you can just dig deep and find a cool little-used play and expect the offense (or defense) to run it and surprise the opposing team. It seems that Hoke and Co. wanted to work on some fundamentals and maybe experiment with some personel switches this week, but Akron came in and played inspired.
I noted in Bowden's presser that he basically said they pulled out EVERYTHING on Michigan in this game and tried every trick in the book to get their guys open. That kind of scheming against a team that has been practicing vanilla all week could go wrong if the disparity between teams isn't as great as expected and the execution is off.

I think it's more like complaining that the free corvette you were just given isn't suitable for three-ton hauling . . . but yeah.
|2 years 48 weeks ago||Scrambling, YES||
Denard's scrambling is different this year. I can't count how many times last year he'd be sitting int he pocket for way too long on a pass play and I'm yelling at the TV, "Run! RUNNNN!!! You have rockets for legs, the first down is right there, and the field is WIDE OPEN!"
But either he'd been coached to run only on designed run plays or he'd determined that for himself (Tate certainly had no problems scrambling). So the result would either be a sack or a forced throw into coverage, often picked off. It was really frustrating.
This year is different. He sees green and nothing open, he takes off. This does make him more dangerous, and I think it cuts down on our turnovers too. Makes the difference between TO or sack and first down. That's HUGE.
|3 years 4 weeks ago||Upgrade||
It is definitely worth the update. No more suction blocking, suction tackling, or teleportation completions/interceptions. The running game is incredibly good. Players seem a lot more responsive to the controls. Defenses actually know how to cover zone. And also, that #16 QB that they put in as Michigan's starter is crazy fast. ;c)
BTW, I always turn down the speed equalization control to about 35. I think it accounts for the actual speed of the players better. On the default settings defending linesmen can actually get an angle on #16QB running at full tilt . . . and yeah, there's no way that's happening in real life.
|3 years 34 weeks ago||I got a #5||
I got a jersey last year when Tate was starting. If I could justify dropping the cash for a #16 too, I would. But in the meantime, I am PROUD to wear this kid's #5.
