A Hoke Recruit

Swenson was a Hoke commit. In some ways Swenson is a transitional casualty. While the kid acted like he publicly loved Michigan, he never even came to campus for an official visit.

I agree the timing seems rather late in the recruiting process with signing day fast approaching. However, many other quality schools will offer this kid a scholarship.

Fortunate it happened now

While everyone on here wallows in their own despair, I would like to point out that this would be much worse if it happened, for example, in the first half of the Uconn game. There is almost three whole weeks before the season begins, giving the entire defensive unit the opportunity to address the loss of Woolfork before it is go time. Our defensive front will take on the responsibility and challenge that this injury creates to wreak even more havoc up front, and quite honestly, very few teams passing games scare me at all on our schedule.

Intangibles No one has mentioned how well Indiana played in the first half. Indiana was raining three's and moving the ball effectively. Their team will be dangerous at home all Big Ten Season because they have nothing to lose and get maximum fan support for a team that poor. Gibson played awful and we were forced to play small ball which only exaggerates our 3 point to 2 point differential. What people are ignoring is the fact that Coach Beilein has instilled character, belief, and a system that has proven successful. Our ball club has grit and desire that few Michigan Football Teams have displayed over the past decade. Manny may be struggling offensively, but his rebounds, blocks, and hustle are amazing. Also, LLP has only been playing a half dozen games and is performing at a very impressive rate. If Grady, Manny, and LLP start driving more, Sims realizes he can have his way with his mid-range game, and Gibson can give consistent minutes, our team is far from over-rated. Furthermore, I guarantee you other teams coaches dont think our team is overrated. Lastly, that stupid overrated index ranking BS includes a very UNDERRATED Arkansas team, and any team that beats UNC is not underrated. There are NO fluke wins vs. UNC.
clarification A spread offense and an accurate passer can be highly effective against OSU who played their best game of the year hands down. Tate is widely considered one of the most accurate passer in his class. Our qb's this past year were highly inaccurate. Furthermore, I can only imagine what would have happened to OSU's secondary without Laurinatis and Jenkins. Secondly, Texas, alla Alabama, was ripe for an upset is all I'm saying. The OSU seniors were playing for their legacy...you overly simplified the point I was trying to make.
