Dude, your y axis changes with each chart. For example, PSU looks like a big jump this year but only from 18 to about 28. Make the y axis equal next time please.
Balas has consistently said this for quite some time - that Harbaugh once (or twice) said he was basically coming and then changed his mind.
Not sure that briefly accepting the offer is the right term to use. Rather, more like he would have said ok during the 2010 season or early on in the search before deciding Brandon was nuts.
When was the last time Michigan played two big non-conference games in one season? UConn and Vanderbilt don't count in my view, so I suppose 2007 with ND and Oregon?
Many states, including New Jersey, have what are called mandatory arrest domestic violence laws. In other words, if the police respond to a domestic dispute, they (generally) must arrest someone. Sometimes, this will lead to both parties getting arrested if the police cannot determine who was at fault or if it was more of a mutual fight. It does not necessarily mean she hit him first.
Be glad to help - I certainly view my share of michigan highlights, etc. As a lawyer in the cable/Internet industry, I deal with copyright issues quite often.
Let alone likely in the first 3 rounds. He's just not a very good quaterback, and him declining the senior bowl invite was pretty stupid. This makes what Nussmeier accomplished even better.
They do this every year - last year they got off to a much worse start and ending up winning the WCHA tournament. They'll get hot the 2nd half of the season. Plus, they're 16th in the pairwise despite the slow start.
Up 27-7 in the 2nd half, before blowing the lead. Then, down 28-27, the bad snap over Brady's head that took us out of field goal range.
That loss cost us the Big 10 title, a Rose Bowl win (at least, since it was 7-4 Stanford for the Pac 10), and possibly the National Title since a 10-1 Big 10 team likely is #2 in the BCS above Va Tech.
for cable providers. They make their $$ of Internet. I know quite a few cable companies would love to dump the cable TV portion and just charge for bandwidth used.
Disney (ESPN) is not going to agree to sell content in this fashion. They make too much money as it is, getting $$ for each subscriber, whether that person watches ESPN or not, and $$ for each Internet subscriber (WatchESPN) whether that person uses WatchESPN or not.
And if Disney did agree to sell the content a la carte, it will charge a heckuva lot more than $5/month for us to watch.
to move BTN to basic, as required in their contracts when a school in that state joins the B10, or they withhold that school's games in those areas or sublicense them out.
Per FEI, we played the #6 (Ohio), #8 (ND), #9 (Nebraska), #20 (Alabama), and #27 (NW) offenses, so I don't think there's "no question Oregon played better offenses."
The content owners (BTN, ESPN, etc) don't want the model to crash. ESPN gets $5.00 or so from every cable subscriber (plus more for each Internet subscriber for WatchESPN). Were this model to collapse, and the government to require a la carte, ESPN will likely have to charge something like $30.00 per subscriber to recoup lost money. How many people will pay $30.00 permonth for ESPN?
Most laughable part of his assertion is this: OSU is 6-5 against Wisconsin over their last 11 meetings. That's the best record in the big 10 against OSU in that time.
The plaza was my wife's hangout as an undergrad, my spot during law school there, and is forever the first place I want to go when we're up there. Plaza burger, cheesecurds, extra plaza sauce and a spotted cow. Pure heaven.
Brian - the argument is even more absurd when you consider Wisconsin has a backup arena all of 2 miles from campus - the Alliant energy Center, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alliant_Energy_Center (fka the Dane County Coliseum).
In fact, Wisconsin hockey played here until the Kohl Center was built. Even better, they can sell beer there, as it's off-campus. Also, when conflicted out of the Kohl Center for the very reasons discussed above, Wisconsin has played 1st round WCHA playoff series at THE ALLIANT ENERGY CENTER as recently as the mid-2000s.
OSU turned it over to NCAA, so nothing further will come from this other than the public probably getting to see some interesting documents that will hopefully further stain OSU.
Even more annoying now. Wisconsin has a free ride next year - OSU's ineligible, PSU's a mess, Indiana and Purdue have no talent. Seems like Illinois, since they'll have an actual coach to go with their talent, will be biggest challenge.
Completely normal thing for a defense to do. The burden of proof is far lower than at trial, his defense would know he's going to be bound over for trial. No use having the prelim.
when OSU kept coming out two to the wide side. Floyd, as the boundary corner (cover 3) was consistently out of position. For example, on the Posey TD, yes, Woolfolk got burned badly, but Floyd's only responsibility there is to cover that deep 3rd and he was nowhere near where he needed to be.
center in the country, and if he goes pro, will be the first center picked. I love Molk, but if he isn't picked, at least they got it right (and not Brewster, who's terrible).
Grand jury report indicts Sandusky for what he did. McQueary's part is proof that the PSU AD and Official in charge of campus police committed perjury.
The details re: did he talk to police were not necessary for the indictment.
Also, as a former prosecutor, I can tell you that not every fact is in the grand jury report. I can't quite speak to how the process works in PA, as I worked as a DA in Wisconsin, but I can tell you that you don't need every fact in your complaint, and you don't want to flush everything out for a felony prelim hearing.
You argue that the coaching staff didn't use Denard properly. Which is fine. But you then link later to the post showing that the Denard slide began last year. In that post, Denard's stats from the 9 games this year are almost identical - running, passing, and INTs - to the last 8 games of last year.
Noticed he was wide open and thought Denard misread the play. But Brian makes a great point - Denard's first read was Koger. Once he came off Koger, his next read is Grady.
I'm not sure how much worse Denard was. Perhaps you're grading him a bit harder now than you did the first part of last year? I certainly was guilty of that critiquing Denard during the game....

This is 100% fake news.
Why no Hawkins in the chart?

He took Minnesota plus the points. He didn't make a straight-up pick.
Fangio doesn't want to be a head coach. Tomsula getting the job was pretty much expected.
By DVOA, SF was mediocre in years 1 and 4 on offense (18th in both). Year 1 we can throw out. Year 4 certainly is dissapointing.
However, SF was 5th in DVOA offense in Harbaugh year 2 and 8th in year 3. Oh, and by the way, the defense was 13th last year.
So the meme that the defense carried the team? True in years 1 and 4. Wrong in years 2 and 3.

There are some bizarre results in there, including 1-5 Wazzu at #35 overall.
I don't mean to defend anyone, but S&P looks a lot more realistic at this point (Michigan at #23).

Cook will be a 1st or 2nd round pick in the draft this spring.
Just a bit of a difference.

Don't look now, but Wisconsin has beefed up their OOC schedules.
2015: Alabama, Wazzu
2016: @ Va Tech
2017: @ BYU, Va Tech, @ USF, plus LSU??
2018-2019: Home-and-home with Washington
Every blackhawks game sounds like that.
that he might go day 2 (round 3).
Jones is a 2nd-3rd day talent.

Yes, in the long run, they'll get BTN on expanded basic in the New York market. Short term, Time Warner and others could hold out.

IIRC, Gordon went the whole second half, meaning that Woolfolk was pulled after the Posey TD (which was on him).

At least that's one more upperclassman WR.
OSU really took it to that Indiana powerhouse. Great job holding on at the end (missed FG and INT for Indiana when down 7 late in the 4th).
dropped key 3rd down passes? Or not tried to do too much and fumbled? Or not missed wide open guys for 70 yard touchdowns?
I thought he was more accurate Saturday than most games (save for the deep balls, which he can't throw anyway).
I wonder how much the abscence of the short passing game is on Denard missing open guys underneath. His decision-making has never been a strong suite.
Brian, I don't understand the post.
You argue that the coaching staff didn't use Denard properly. Which is fine. But you then link later to the post showing that the Denard slide began last year. In that post, Denard's stats from the 9 games this year are almost identical - running, passing, and INTs - to the last 8 games of last year.
That's the play I would run the speed option (or something like that). Last play of the game regardless, why not run it?
Michigan lined up in the shotgun, Denard kept it on the zone read, and he almost took it to the house.
Noticed he was wide open and thought Denard misread the play. But Brian makes a great point - Denard's first read was Koger. Once he came off Koger, his next read is Grady.
