Higher ups caught on?

I'd bet they see that 2% of the student population attended the rally and that 2% of the eligble students and alumni signed the petition to have Brandon fired.

They see 2%.

On the contrary

Maybe you haven't been around long enough but the endzones have increased.  I'm in row 96.  There haven't been 96 rows since it was built.

I have had season tickets since I was a student back in 1994.

We can barely hear the band up in the top corner of the stadium.  I rarely hear it amplified.  I know they do not amplify the band during the halftime show, which was my point.  Maybe it is a product of my seats being in the south endzone and all amplified sound comes from the north scoreboard, another one of my complaints.

Original construction had the top row at actual ground level before Yost added bleechers.

The top row is now 26 rows above said grade.  A bit of a difference in distance from the field.

Blue Hairs

Aren't the Blue Hairs already as pissed off as much as the students?  They may be chanting too.

I love the band.  I don't like their recent (last 2 years) skits with "acting" though.  I think they are horrible in fact.

I feel that the Big House has outgrown the band.  We're too big now.  The upper endzones are too far away from the band.  The band rarely plays to the endzones.  In my upper endzone seats we can barely hear the band.  I wish they would amplify the band instead of piping music all the time.

Rant over.

Stoking the flames

Speaking of which, is anyone else tired of MLive's Nick Baumgardner?  That Sparty is just fueling the fires and loving every minute of it.

chants

Chants would get drowned out by the piped in music, not as effective.

I prefer the partial boycott to an all out boycott.  However I will be in my seat from before kickoff until after the time has expired, cheering my team.

The players deserve better

Send me your tickets and I'll fill your seats.

Ouch

Hoke didn't know

Hoke says he didn't see the hit.  Now I am not sure because I have seen the hit on Morris' chin so many times on this blog and my tv at home, but wasn't there a replay in the stadium of this hit?  I thought I saw it, right after the play, on the big screen.  Hoke didn't look up?  No one looked up and saw the replay of the hit?

I'm sorry, I like Hoke, but I just can't believe the University's story that Hoke didn't know of the possible head injury.

I haven't read all 300 comments above to know if this has already been covered.  Sorry if it has.

^ Agreed

I wish I could write as well.  Very well done.

phork

Your sense of humor is needed in times like these.

Wait...what?

I use ellipses a lot.  I didn't know it bothers people.  Sorry.

Make friends

Study buddies help a bunch.

Too Much to do...

...too little time:

Build a deck

Finish a basement bathroom

Put all basement stuff back into storage

Get house ready for out of town guests

Tune up tailgate gear

Hell Yes

I've been wanting a small vacation in the Seattle area for some time.  Now I have a good excuse.  And my wife is always willing to go on a Michigan road trip.

Acronyms

There are a ton of acronyms used on this site.  I'd like to see an mgourbandictionary to look them up and follow along better.  Maybe there is such a thing and I just don't know how to navigate the site.

I'm sorry

I'm sorry to be that guy but our impressive defensive line is going against our offensive line in practice.  Don't you kind of expect them to look really good?  Is Clark that good or is it the opposing RT at the time?   Again, sorry, I'm still gun shy when it comes to this team.

^ I agree

We should get this Chicago game as part of our ticket pack.

Filling the stadium

I believe the issue with filling the stadium will be resolved with the 2015 home schedule.

Opposite

I guess I've been burned too much with this team.  All I hear is bla, bla bla until I actually see something positive on the field.

Yet I read the thread.  Go figure.

Club Seats

No such email for my Club seats thus far.  Bumming...

4 Years

A talent like that staying all four years?  Yes please.

Outstanding!

His offer list is Outstanding!  Awesome news!

but,

But, isn't every game at Michigan Stadium like the Super Bowl already?

Because of PSU

Because Michigan got JoePa fired.  /s

Nuss > Borges

Therefore better year.  That's all folks.

One year

One year I really got  into the Crown Royal and Mint Juleps.  I missed half of the races, but I had several souvenir glasses!

Betting

My wife could pick the winning horse by checking out their back sides.  She was actually correct more than worng.  Too bad that by the time you get to compare horses' rear ends it is too late to get a bet in.  I guess it isn't always about the money...

Edit: By "winner" I mean Show, not able to actually pick the winner.

Lines aren't bad

The lines aren't too bad if you dedicate the entire day/evening to the Derby.  Gates open at 8am.  Get there early and race to the best spot along the fence.  Don't leave after the Derby race (used to be the 8th race out of 11, not sure anymore), stay until after the final race.  The crowd will have all but left and the exit is fine.  Besides, if you like betting, bet all the races and cash in after the last race, the bet window lines are much shorter then.

This is the biggest, longest party you'll attend.  It is also a blast.

I don't know

The class time, homework, tests, etc. on top of practice, travel and games. It has to be very tiring for these guys and gals. Then there is the NBA money and luxury travel. I think Kaminsky is a rare individual across the college landscape. I don't think we have a problem here at Michigan, not saying you said we do.

Missed Opportunity

I agree that UM is missing opportunities here.  If they make this practice a real scrimmage that is actually fun to watch and therfore draws crowds, it could pay off in recruiting in the ways you mention above.  It could also bring in money, something the AD really likes.

I noticed this year that the practice is called the Mott Children Hospital Spring Game.  Why not charge a measly $5 for entry and give it all to charity.  Who wouldn't caugh up $5 to watch a real scrimmage as long as the money was going to charity?  Then there is the concessions take. Why not?

I love Dakich

for his enthusiasm and entertainment value, but can he play?  Or is he forever relegated to the practice squad?

In order

No, I am in this for the long haul.  I like my seats and wouldn't risk losing them to avoid a bad season, team, schedule, whatever.

Completely selfish decision

As some have said, Jon's decision to leave is selfish.  It is completely selfish on Jon's part to leave Michigan.  BUT, there is NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.  Jon stayed all 4 years in a system that wasn't ideal for him while being told all along by his family to transfer.

I do not fault Jon one bit for leaving.  He committed to Michigan and stayed his 4 years.  It isn't like he's leaving early, he graduates next month.  He's honored his commitment.  As Coach B said, "No harm, no foul".  Coach B's response is simply perfect.

Good luck to Jon and best wishes.

Serious question

When will Nuss have time to work with DG?  Wasn't yesterday their last Spring practice?  When can they practice with coaches again?

Woodson

I know Charles played offense, defense and special teams but I did not know he played hockey too.  Damn that man has skilz.

Speaking of QB

I want to see Devin of the early games last year, a confident passer.  I don't want to see the Devin of the end of the ND game or the games that followed.

I want to see Shane make accurate passes with the right amount of zip on the ball, as well as making good reads.

I want to see Green hitting the holes provided and making people miss on others.

I want to see receivers run good routes and make good catches on maybe not so good throws.

I want to see our FG kicker hit consistantly.

I think this is what you can see from the Spring Game.  I plan to watch it on TV with beer, where I can rewind and see again and again.  I think the at Spring Game experience is blah.

Comes down to the refs

I don't know basketball like most of you do but I see this game coming down to foul calls.  I thought Wichta State got jobbed by the refs against KY.  KY drove the lane time and time again, picking up foul after foul.  I see this potential again tomorrow night, putting JMo in foul trouble.

We will need good play out of Jon for solid minutes I predict.

Thanks Brian

I've been looking for a write up like this since we lost to PSU the last time.  I gotta say, reading your report on the future doesn't get me too excited however.

I'm gald I'm not the only one unhappy with Downing's decision making of late.  Didn't he cost us a goal in the last game and another break away that ended up being a good save?

I don't see the effort in De Jong.  I don't see him stretch on the blue line to even try to keep the puck in.  I don't see any hussle.

I sure hope the defense gets their act together this year.  I know we need more goals but this defense is not UM-like.

Way to battle the bigs!

We got some rebounds...

Sweet Victory!

I don't think so

I've noticed that in many, many games.  I think it is just pressure related somehow.

Patrick is only 14

I just assumed he was a young adult.  For some reason this is just harder to take knowing his young age.  Hopefully they got the entire tumor.

Colonoscopy today

Not planned around bball but taking advantage yesterday when not on shitter and today when not in procedure, in a couple of hours.

Got it. Deleted it.

I wasn't in the mood following last night's performance.

I have considered dropping hockey, only because I have season tickets to the major three and with all three having PSDs I feel I spend way too much on UM sports. I selected hockey as the potential drop due to it having the highest PSD (club seats) by far and the product is substandard anymore. However, since I have already paid the PSD for next season I might as well renew one more year.

Is the program ready for a coaching change? Was Mel really the coach and Red the figure head? Performance since. Mel's departure makes me wonder.

Disappointed.

No MGoBlog write ups?

I searched this site and couldn't find anything.  I thought MGB did Hello posts.  I guess I'd have to search the 4 individual names.

Thanks for the link.

Saturday's performance was outstanding

Watching that game all I could think was that they could play against anyone.  That was a fun game to see live.

Looking at the roster, will we ever balance out the years?  Huge class graduating again next year after only 5 this year.

Where can I read about our 2014 recruits?  I've searched nearly everywhere.

blow out

It sure started that way.  Whew what a survival couple of games.  We need to practice inbounding, free throw shooting and getting Nik the damn ball.  Go Blue!  Beat Sparty again!

IU

I'm worried about the BTT since I'm sure IU will beat UofI.  We'll have to play IU in Indy.  IU came close to beating us at Crisler.  If we lose to IU we certainly lose the 2 seed.  I know that's not the end of the world but it hurts.

I love Cosmo's

We ate there for lunch yesterday.  They have the best Bim Bop in town, Kerrytown that is.

Likely

It is very likely we will.  And I feel the same way.
