I am not a total NIT hater. It has a lot of history and particularly for good mid-majors that get upset in their conference tournament I think it's great. What Indiana State is doing, for instance, is awesome. The sub-NIT tournaments are all obviously preposterous, but this one in particular by reserving spots for the dregs of the power conferences. In a world where those teams have started turning down even the NIT, though, why does this tournament think they would attend? They must plan to blast some serious money.
Not even really "accused," there's no suggestion Alabama is doing anything wrong, it's just part of the story with the explanation that sign stealing is ubiquitous. Just incredible that they spun this into two months of hysterics for us. And absolutely impossible to believe the difference is that our stupidest staffer had his friend take grainy iphone video rather than that it was a hit job because a lot of people in CFB personally dislike Jim Harbaugh.

Both whether it will be filed in Michigan or Illinois (I would think the B1G bylaws have a forum selection clause to Illinois, but don’t know, assume M will file in Michigan if it can) and state or federal (this has to be a diversity case, and I suspect the B1G is a citizen of each state it has a member in including Michigan so state court)?

A key factor is likelihood of success on the merits, and unless you have read the Big Ten bylaws, none of us know what that is. That Petitti is a power-drunk scumbag, or that this is outrageous, really don’t matter if he followed conference-approved procedures. Michigan’s lawyers seem to think he didn’t but I have no idea if a judge will agree.

Currently 14 which would be the last team in if there are no conference tournament upsets so the only autobids are Atlantic Hockey and CCHA.
