8 weeks 16 hours ago	Spanky	I couldn't be happier for Hunwick. I'm only an hour or so outside of Columbus so I might make the otherwise unbearable trek to C-bus to catch the game tonight. When she was a kid, the wife and her family used to be minor league hockey bums. They had season tickets when Pang played at Saginaw (or maybe Flint?). For some reason he was known as "Spanky" Pang back then--Panger is just more TV friendly, I guess. After a game on his birthday, the in-laws presented Pang with a birthday card, so he signed his goalie stick and gave it to my wife. I've never met him, but he seems to always have been a classy guy.

You would have been around Big Rapids for Colborne (and other good ones like Kevin Swider and I think Brian? McCullough). I was sports editor and later editor-in-chief of the Ferris student paper in the late 90s and early 00s. Got a grad degree from Michigan and am currently getting a grad degree from Ohio University. Oddly enough I thought there was a good chance for a Michigan-Ohio basketball matchup and Michigan-Ferris hockey matchup. The wife is an FSU grad, too, so at least now we'll be routing for the same team in the Frozen Four.

2 years 15 weeks ago	Logic is flawed	If we must truly account in the rules for the delay between an illegal hockey event and the official's whistle, a second would be added back to the game clock after each whistle since everything that happened after the point of any illegal hockey event is not relevant to the scoreboard. We don't add back that second because the idea is ludicrous. Just as ludicrous is a rule like the one invoked in this instance that allows for something other than the correct call to be made.
