that's unfortunate, but at least the interest is there on both sides

|2 hours 25 min ago||Assuming he plays the 4 for us,||
I think he will bring a new dimension to the team. I have high hopes, at least in year 2.
Beilein mentioned that LeVert can play the 1 through 3 positions. We could put a pretty good zone defense out there.
1. LeVert 6-7
2. Irvin 6-6
3. Robinson 6-8
That wouldn't be a bad team on offense either. Which still leaves you with Dawkins 6-6, Chatman 6-7 and Wilson 6-9.
|21 hours 44 min ago||I enjoyed reading that, thanks.||
I like that Beilein knows who he is and what he wants to do and he goes out and does it his way, He will tweak things as needed, but he sticks to what has worked. He knows what he is doing.
|1 day 21 hours ago||Well, I think Caris is coming back too,||
but I don't know if that means much. He could go to bed thinking one thing and wake up the next morning and change his mind. It has happened before.
|1 day 21 hours ago||I looked at the Scholarship numbers and||
here are two possible soulutions for 2016:
No Attrition: MAAR backs up Walton at PG, Robinson backs up Irvin at the 2 and Chatman and Dawkins share the 3 or some rotating version of that. A little thin, but we could make do.
Attrition: Irving leaves early for the NBA in 2016 and/or you make use of the Hatch scholarship. That opens up room to bring in 1 or 2 freshmen/transfers in 2016. Winston and Langford would be nice.
|2 days 5 hours ago||Would you consider this year's Wisconsin||
bigs as athletic? They did okay against Kentucky.
|2 days 5 hours ago||Agreed. I know it is the internet and||
free speech and everything, but I don't think it is right to speculate on transfers by name.
|2 days 5 hours ago||I wish I would have thought||
|2 days 5 hours ago||I have been here the last 2 or 3 weeks||
worrying about not yet having a PG lined up for 2016, so like others. this commit seemed strange. But, then you step back from the cliff and remember that our coaching staff knows the situation better than any of us. There is no way that Beilein backs himself into a corner and ends up without enough guards for 2016 and beyond.
Davis looks pretty good to me for a 16 year old guy who is already 6-10. And in that one Big Man Camp video he looked like he was eye-to-eye with Tim McCormick, so I think the listed height is legit. He probably won't see the floor for us until 2017, so he has two more years to develope. By then we will have Sr. Doyle, Jr. Wilson, Soph Teske and RSF Davis. Sweet. At the 4 we will have Wagner, Donnal, Chatman. Looks like Beilein is serious about playing 2 big men and it will be nice to not have to depend on freshmen to man the center position.
|2 days 6 hours ago||And he was only 6-8 (generous)||
constantly going against bigger men.
|2 days 6 hours ago||I believe that 2 of those 3 that||
you mention are still available.
|2 days 6 hours ago||Assuming that he wasn't off the board.||
I could see him going to MSU. NW or Wisconsin.
|2 days 9 hours ago||I heard that Kate asked||
Spike for a date. What else have you heard.
|2 days 9 hours ago||They are going after||
2016 PGs, several, in fact. Maybe even one in 2015.
|2 days 9 hours ago||Yes, it seems most fans||
are more concerned about star ratings than the actual performance on the floor. Fans are excited about the team for next year and how good we can be, but then complain that Beilein can't recruit.
|2 days 10 hours ago||Donnal is a stretch 4 with||
one year of trying to be a 5 because we were short handed there. If he moves back to the 4, maybe he won't be a bust.
|2 days 10 hours ago||FYI||
Williams has been described as a combo guard. That means he can play either the 1 or 2.
|2 days 10 hours ago||And we got another||
BB commit. Hello Austin Davis.
|2 days 21 hours ago||The only thing I can figure is,||
Beilein came out of 2013 thinking that he would possibly have Horford, McGary and Doyle to play the 5 last year. He ended up with only freshman Doyle and had to move over 2 guys he recruited as 4s (one was 6-7) to play the 5 and he said never again will I be caught short on big men.
In 2016, we will have junior Doyle, sophomore Wilson, and freshmen Teske and Davis. If Davis red shirts, we will have a center in each class the following year. Donnal can return to the 4 that he was recruited for along with Wagner.
We still need a PG in the 2016 class or get Williams this year and make him the PG of the future. It would seem that we would still need to have some attrition to make that fit by 2016.
We have tons of guys that can play the 3 and 4 in 2016, but maybe only 2 or 3 that can play the 1 and 2.
If nothing else, Beilein is sending a message not to sit on your Michigan offer if you think you might like to play here. Also, he wants guys who want to play here. Not guys who will come here if they can't find something better.
|3 days 43 min ago||If they think he can play PG at the||
D1 level, I am all for it. We need a PG in 2016 and if none of our current offers are ready to pull the trigger, get this kid. He is 6-5, good vision, shares the ball and can shoot. He could red-shirt a year, hit the weights and be ready to go in 2017. If we end up with a better PG, this guy can easily slide over to the two.
|3 days 5 hours ago||As far as I am concerned,||
the whole Austin Hatch situation is between he and Beilein. If they work something out that both are happy with, then I am fine with it. But, I would really hate to see Hatch get pushed out just so we can use his scholarship on another player. If LeVert returns, we are really well covered at all positions and aren't in dire need of adding another guard/wing for this year.
|3 days 5 hours ago||Don't you think that they would||
have already checked that out by now?

John's twin brother?
|3 days 5 hours ago||Is Beilein looking at Williams as a||
point guard, in case we are out of scholarships in 2016?
|3 days 7 hours ago||Plus it would only tie up||
that scholarship for 2015, so we could use it in 2016 on a point guard.
|3 days 9 hours ago||It was probably that damn anti||
American Sniper crowd.
|3 days 9 hours ago||Coaches have a basic style that||
works for them, but the great ones are able to adapt to the individual player. Some need a slap on the back while others need a kick in the pants.
I do think that there is a long term risk with the intense type of coach. Sometimes, that can get old and wear on players.

It was a Gateway. I would occasionally get "you have performed an illegal function" and it would scare the hell out of me.

Was Spike in attendance?

I'm going to have to think about that one.
