the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

| 5 weeks 5 days ago | Not sure where your hotel |
Not sure where your hotel is...but since you said TGI Friday's I'm wondering if you're at the embassy suites? Either way: Public House -18th & Cherry; It will be very chill on a monday night. Should be a nice place to watch, especially if you're at the Embassy Suites or Four seasons. Fox & Hound - This has been discussed Fieldhouse - 12th & Filbert (next to Reading Terminal Market) Smith's - 19th between market & chestnut; Urban Saloon 23rd & Fairmount - off the beaten path, but has a projector screen. Kelliann's - 16th & Spring Garden- great wings. Townie bar, but everyone is nice. Ive watched games here. |

| 37 weeks 5 days ago | Double Header |
Per google maps, trotwood has a great stadium. I believe they are playing at Kings Mills because of ESPN. This is game 1 of a doubleheader featuring Gilman & Moeller. Despite having a spacious campus with top of the line facilities, Moeller doesn't have a big on campus stadium. |

Howland's schedule is decent, but nothing to write home about. He wont be playing against many other teams with D1 prospects. If you're comparing that to school like Massilon Washington or St Ignatius, the schedule is weak. |
| 1 year 3 weeks ago | Also, not sure if they run |
Also, not sure if they run the same offense that they did when I was in high school but if they do he's getting the ball on 90% of the offensive plays. So these highlights are done against teams who know he's getting the ball and they are commiting 8-10 guys to stopping him, most likely keeping 1 safety deep for a "QB oh no!" play. He's the truth. |
| 1 year 3 weeks ago | Just a quick disclaimer... |
Just a quick disclaimer... Howland didn't play the toughest schedule last season. While the Youngstown-Warren area is loaded with talent and great teams, Howland doesn't necessrilly see those teams on their schedule. No disrespect, just stating the facts as I'm happy to see a fellow Howland Tiger heading to Ann Arbor. ** Howland plays in the same conference as Liberty, the school that gave us Fitz Toussaint. So once again..not saying he's not awesome..just saying his competition doesnt come close to rivaling what guys like Joe Bolden and Tom Strobel played against. Link to schedule below. http://www.joeeitel.com/hsfoot/teams.jsp?year=2011&teamID=736 |

Dude, it's cake. Eat it. There are hungry children in Africa and you're over here debating the ethics of eating cake vs throwing it away. Let me channel my inner Ed Lover, "C'mon Son". |

Just curious, any idea what our base formation will be this season? (i.e.- Shotgun 2 wide, 1 in slot, 1 TE?)
Magnus, I replied to you because I see you commenting with good information all the time

| 1 year 10 weeks ago | It's March 6th. Calm down |
It's March 6th. Calm down Braylon. It's not unheard of for a soon to be high school senior to show up a camp, bust his ass and show the coaches what they might not be seeing in film. If Berkley is sporting Big Ten offers on August 1st then we can talk. . . or donate $20 million to buy out the remainder of the Adidas contract and have the entire MGoBlogesphere pounding on Coach Hoke's door. Just sayin' |

Did we ever find out what happened with Anthony Standifer? Mutual seperation? Also, has he committed anywhere yet? |
| 1 year 11 weeks ago | Penn State was quarterbacked |
Penn State was quarterbacked by Matt McGloin. Temple's best player declared for the NFL Draft. (Benard Scott?)
Almost beating Penn State in your home stadium that is 90% blue & white is not an accomplishment. |
| 1 year 11 weeks ago | Great Move in Hoops |
Temple will be a bottom dweller in football without a doubt. Louisville, Cincinnati, Rutgers tend to be much much better than Akron, Kent & Ohio University. They just don't have the facilities to match up, and the fans generally don't care to head to South Philly to watch their games. With any luck, maybe they will capitalize on Penn State's misfortunes and keep kids in the city, but I seriously doubt it. They couldn't do it in 1998, what makes anyone think they can do it now? |

BGSU also has a nice favility. The entire MAC sans Miami seems to be updated. |

The hockey arena is at the corner of Mercer & Stadium Dr. There is a lot right infront of the arena that will cost you $10.
Regarding food, it's your typical college town. Your options are fast food which can be found along the main stretch (Wooster St) or pizza/sandwiches. Myles Pizza and Pollyeyes being the local favorites. You could also stop by Mr. Spots, which you may be familiar with.

I'd love to see the breakdown....every year we see kids making decision regarding X,Y & Z univeristy because they have a good engingeering, business, journalism, pre-med etc program; How many of those kids actually end up in those desired majors?
|
| 1 year 12 weeks ago | Agree 100% |
You nailed it. All degrees are not created equal. I'm a MAC school graduate working in Philadelphia. I tell people where I went to school and they think it's a community college. Name recognition is huge. So while Michigan may have "better academics" than Ohio State...Ohio State pumps out 10,000 more alumni per year. It's all relative, especially if you're a "general studies" or "communications major". |
| 1 year 13 weeks ago | You're 100% right. All of |
You're 100% right. All of Howland's talent does come from Warren. Funny how they start scheuduling Harding in sports other than soccer once they opened enrollment. . . . |
| 1 year 13 weeks ago | Warren OH |
Just a note on him: Both his brothers were Division 1 athletes. Maurice Smith was a monster who went to Michigan State before later finishing up at FCS Youngstown State. Lance Smith played at Wisconsin and seem to be the heir apparent to PJ Hill before finishing up at Memphis. Very talented family. Not sure if either brother had offers from OSU, but it is safe to say he and his family are familiar with Big Ten schools and recruiting. Also- Howland which is my alma mater is a completely different school district than Warren Harding (Manningham, Antwan Molden, Boom Herron, Maurice Clarett, DJ Williamson, Davion Rogers). Both schools have produced a ton of Big 10 talent however.

| 1 year 35 weeks ago | I'm finally coming down from |
I'm finally coming down from my euphoric Michigan high and I'm realizing that Notre Dame kicked our butts for 3 quarters. Denard/Hemingway were great last night, but I can't help but wonder what would have happened if: 1) Notre Dame had shot themselves in the foot one less time. - No doubt Mattison's blitzes/stunts were fantastic but if Rees takes a sack on his 2 redzone nono's they may get 2 field goals. 2) Brian Kelly and crew never put Rees under center. For 3 quarters they dominated out of the gun running draws, slants and throwing on 3rd and Floyd...why go under center?
But kudos to Borges for letting denard be a gun slinger. The passes weren't great, but I guess they don't have to be when you've got Hemingway leaping and plucking passes that would have hit Tacopants square in the numbers. |

I DARE someone to try and DISLIKE Denard Robinson. Impossible. He's everything good about College football. |
| 1 year 36 weeks ago | Do you guys realize that 50% |
Do you guys realize that 50% or more of Toledo fans are HUGE Ohio State fans (with the other 50% being Michigan fans). I'd be suprised to see how many fans (that dont have kids/roomates/friends) on the Toledo football team are wearing Blue/Gold. The TOL-EDO wont be very loud on Saturday because a big chunk of the fanbase will be OH-IO-ing. I'm a bowling green grad...when we played OSU each one of my roomates wore their buckeye garb for the game. And I don't remember cheering for my alma mater once last season during the Michigan game. |
| 1 year 39 weeks ago | I imagine St. Eds doesn't |
I imagine St. Eds doesn't want to risk scrimmaging any team they could face before the state finals.Glenville, Ignatius and Y'town Mooney are scheduled opponents. Mentor, Mentor Lake Catholic, Massilon, McKinley, Glen Oak, Brunswick, Warren Harding and Solon are potential playoff foes. No one else in the area would probably be formidable competition. |
| 2 years 16 weeks ago | Columbus is the only area in |
Columbus is the only area in Ohio still growing. In recent year the suburban schools (Pinkerington's 3 HS, Gahanna's 2 HS, Dublin's 3 HS, Upper Arlington, The catholic schools) have produced some nice players recently. It will be good to have a link to that area for recruiting the next few years. Michigan is doing a nice job of making in-roads @ Ohio powerhouses: Y'town Mooney (Vinopal), St. Ignatius (Ryan), etc etc etc. |
