When they played "t-shirt time" followed by Timber right at the end of the third quarter, I couldn't take it any more. I don't need to see people shoot t-shirts into the stands on the big screen, and I definitely don't need crap music accompanying it. The manufactured "excitement" is hard to sit through. I suggest Dave Brandon's wow factor find a new team to support. Have a happy life!!!
I had never heard that t-shirt time song, but apparently it's from Jersey Shore. Sounds about right.

Nothing is gained by keeping him. Keeping him only causes fans to have their souls ripped apart because they want Michigan to win every game, but they also know losing is better for long term program health because it guarantees changes. If they made a change now, that inner dilemna would at least go away.

He lived in the area for a while after that (very close to the stadium at first), but eventually moved with his family to Florida. He never went back to coaching. Supposedly, he was a pretty good recruiter too. Young, energetic guy at the time.
For what it's worth, he seemed pretty happy the times I saw him at social gatherings (which was years after his coaching). I don't know him very well at all, but we have some friends in common, so there's been small talk at barbecues and stuff. Never about football though.

I bought one the past two years the first chance I could, but I haven't made the pledge this year. I'm not at all excited about football season which is a big change. Last year had to be the least exciting iteration of Michigan football I can remember (bend don't break defense, running into the line of scrimmage), so it dampens my desire to read long in-depth articles.
Also, I agree with some of the previous comments that almost everything from last year was printed on the blog anyway. The position groups and predictions are reprinted with more up-to-date information. Besides, I feel that there isn't much "new" to this year's team. The Nussmeier information is about it. What else is there to be excited about at this point? Everyone is waiting for the team to prove it on the field.
Brian's comments or attitudes during any union or Purge discussion had no impact whatsoever on my lack of enthusiasm about ordering HTTV. However, I'm of the belief that athletes should get better health care and guaranteed scholarships, so whatever method they wish to pursue to achieve those things is fine by me. I guess I wasn't in the crowd that was offended by Brian's take on the subject.
I'll probably end up ordering it, but I'm in no rush. This is the same attitude I had towards my season tickets this year. It took an e-mail after the deadline for the tickets. I should be able to order HTTV on time. I would've already ordered it if the "Sports" shirt was an option.

I ran it with a few friends. It was so nice to run through campus then finish in the Big House, especially with the great weather this morning. I thought it was a really fun event, and I'm looking forward to doing it again next year.

LeVert is having a bad day. It's causing me to have a bad day.

We get a chance to make a run, then a really dumb turnover. When you're down 15, you have to be smarter than that.

Just a total dump of a game. Throwing away the one seed and letting MSU feel good about themselves.
|40 weeks 5 days ago||When you don't play defense||
When you don't play defense or rebound, the margin of error on offense is pretty thin. Way too thin to take the shots they're taking or turning the ball over every other play. Someone needs to step up and take control of this mess.
|40 weeks 5 days ago||It's hard to make up ground||
It's hard to make up ground if every State possession lasts a minute and a half. The constant offensive rebounds on their end is frustrating.
|40 weeks 5 days ago||If you're going to play zero||
If you're going to play zero defense and not get any rebounds, then you have to play very well on offense. That is not happening. A lot of sloppy turnovers and bad decisions. Beilfeldt playing so much has hurt on both ends, but that's not Morgan's fault not his.

Exactly. He hasn't gotten that call all night, so quit giving away possessions thinking it will work this time. The refs have made it obvious they are letting it get rough on those drives.
|43 weeks 1 day ago||Just not playing smart||
Just not playing smart basketball. A ton of sloppy passes and really bad decisions. Every time they look ready for a run, there has been a frustratingly sloppy turnover.
|43 weeks 1 day ago||When was the last time that||
When was the last time that Michigan didn't come out looking like garbage during the first 10 minutes of the game? They've been able to come back a few times, but it's been so ugly at the beginning. 8 points during the first 12 minutes tonight. That is awful. I would expect a team of 5 Aaron Crafts to be able to score 8 points in 12 minutes.
|43 weeks 5 days ago||Another game with no defense||
Another game with no defense and no one able to hit a shot. A lot of ugly shots and bad decisions leads to another huge halftime deficit. We are getting used to hearing announcers talking about how Michigan needs to wake up during the first half of games.

No offense, no defense, no rebounding. Not a recipe for a good game. Hard to watch so far.

Could it have been mentioned with your wording? Yes. However, these are things obvious to everyone. You are not the only one who understands this is all reprehensible. Everyone knows this, so it is not necessary. I wouldn't take advice on living a moral life from a blogger any more than I would from an athlete.
I knew Lewan was involved in the cover up but was confused about the frat mention. Was their a conspiracy among the members of that fraternity to cover it up. It sounds like your friend was against that idea as I'm sure others were.
|47 weeks 2 days ago||Do people really need to be||
Do people really need to be told not to rape other people? Would they not be able to figure that out without advice from a blogger? It would be pretty sad if the only thing that stopped young men from raping people was because Brian Cook said it wasn't cool. I doubt potential rapists look at WWBCD bracelts. It's clear this is a reprehensible crime whether or not it is condemned unequivocally by a guy on the internet.
Also, in your original post you talk about a frat coverup. Isn't it still true that football players aren't allowed to join fraternities or did I miss something?

To not get shut down for 13 minutes?
He does have 8 points, but he scored 5 in the first couple of minutes. Once State adjusted, Nik was shut down.

Does this slow down the Stauskas to the NBA talk? He seems to get controlled failry easily when an NBA talent is defending him. I think he's still an NBA player, but games like this make me think that he's not a first round talent right now. And I don't even know what to say about GRIII. That guy just disappears sometimes. He's going to get drafted on potential, but he's not nearly as aggressive as he needs to be.

Statistically Michigan is one of the team that fouls least per game, so it makes sense that the fouls are about 32-1 right now.

Levert is usually good for starting one or two runs for the opponenents each game. I like the kid, but he makes some bad decisions with the ball sometimes. That long two was a bad shot.

You've cofused the words "died" and "retired" and gone on a long rant based on your mistake. You're arguing a point that no one made. Even the quote you included to argue against has the word "died" in it. Your desire to argue superceded your desire to stop and think what was orginially said.
|51 weeks 5 days ago||The TFLs allowed this year||
The TFLs allowed this year are up there with RR's historical bad numbers.
This team was bad. They were not any better than the team in RR's third year. It's ok for you not to agree with that. I see nothing in this coaching staff that makes me think they are any further along than RR after the Mississippi State game. I thought RR might've worked ourt with a different D-coordinator, but I was ready to see him go. I think Hoke might be able to work with some changes to his staff. At the end of year 3, they are both failures. The both had the excuse of "empty cupboard" and transitioning to their scheme.
By the way, when comparing their third year, record is a pretty big deal. Being incompetent on one side of the ball is a big deal. I don't see how you can throw those away and say it's bellyaching. If you support Hoke, that's fine. You need to accept the reality that this season was a failure. He'll say it 100 times between now and next season.
The only thing you've done is answer a question with a question, and use insults to deflect. I guess depth being built up is your answer to the original question. Unless those players are developed, depth doesn't matter too much, so the jury's still out. I don't think anyone feels excited when the backups come in at this point. So, I would go with partial credit on that one.

One side of the ball is a miserable failure. The other side looks good until it runs up against a competent opponent. Both teams started off great, then looked like crap at the end of the year. Many calls for members of the coaching staff to be let go.
