|23 hours 59 min ago||But what is our current scheme?||
I honestly am not sure. At times they will get DG out of pocket and others they don't. They really don't seem committed to anything this year like last year.
|1 day 2 hours ago||Huh, what?||
I have no idea what was said other than we practiced hard. Is Peppers practicing or not? He watched film of state's defense, and he saw they play hard and execute. SMH
|2 days 20 hours ago||I agree.||
They do have a good chance to win west. East is incredibly difficult, even if B10 is down.
|3 days 21 min ago||Other than W/L||
what makes Minnesota a "really good" team?
Minnesota 42 East Illinois 20
Minnesota 35 Middle Tennessee 24
Minnesota 7 TCU 30
Minnesota 24 San Jose St. 7
Minnesota 30 Michigan 14
Minnesota 24 Northwestern 17
Minnesota 39 Purdue 38
Winning is obviously better than losing, but there is nothing in their resume that makes me think they are really good.
|3 days 2 hours ago||Serious question:||
Who decides to go for it or punt on fourth downs? Does Hoke ever say anything? How about punt blocks, or long field goals? Just curious.
|3 days 2 hours ago||Bart Starr called the offensive plays||
And the MLB was responsible for calling defensive plays back then. Lombardi was totally engaged, and that was done by verbal communication throughout the game. He yelled, he talked, he corrected, he asked... All I see Hoke do is clap and praise.
|3 days 3 hours ago||Are you saying that Bo never gave||
negative feedback to a player coming off? Ripping into a player is showing displeasure for the mistake, while coaching is telling him he messed up and how to fix it. I never see Hoke give anything other than positive reinforcement when they come off, and that approach doesn't work well.
|3 days 3 hours ago||Is playcalling jibber jabber ?||
What about deciding to go for it on 4th down, who makes that decision? Is Hoke involved in that?
|3 days 3 hours ago||Delegation was just one part of||
what was described. Do you think Les is disengaged in what is going on also?
|1 week 2 days ago||Why?||
He is just basing it on Hoke's previous pressers. Hoke is famous for non answers, so it shouldn't be a surprise when journalists get a bit snarky.
|1 week 2 days ago||Yep. Let's hush dissent.||
I hope DB and Hoke stay for next year too.
|1 week 4 days ago||That's not exactly correct Ramona||
I don't recall any posters ripping you for saying that you were attending the game. I do remember how you kept injecting yourself in other posts though. Could you show an example of the "hatred" you experienced from that post?
|1 week 4 days ago||A five minute protest is going to hurt the players?||
You have a really low view of them. Also, they can protest however they want. You protest your way and they protest their way.
|1 week 4 days ago||What is going on here?||
What is going on here? Everyone is supporting the players. Even Hoke is getting a bit of a pass due to the extreme ire towards Brandon.
What info. or take is Hoke/Brandon giving the former and current players? I think that they are putting a wedge between the players and the fanbase in order to save themselves.
This seems very strange.
|1 week 6 days ago||Thank you for your reply.||
I am not saying that DB has failed at all aspects of his job. However, he has alienated the fanbase, and the lower tier donors. I expect the SA's to be supportive due to the fact that he is the face of new facilities and scholarship payments.
I believe that his premise is wrong with the attempt to improve the gameday experience. The game is the experience. The MB and cheerleaders are the experience... Overmarketing was not needed. Also, too many decisions are based on the bottom line and not about what is best. I know that more money is made by regular paying customers than student ticket sales, but they should never have reduced the size of the student section.
I would like to see DB go, but I have a feeling he will be retained when all is said and done.
|1 week 6 days ago||Brandon's not the issue?||
The team losing has pushed fans over the edge, but this is about DB. I haven't heard one person mention that this is about getting rid of Hoke. Hopefully that will come. DB has done a lot to annoy the base. Feel free to be as condescending as you like in your next post.
|1 week 6 days ago||I think it is in poor taste||
because it is in direct opposition to the kickoff boycott. Nobody is boycotting the game, just the kickoff to make a point. DB is using a SA to try and throw water on the boycott. If he was being genuine, he would have a poster about how great the game is while ignoring the boycott. The boycott is about DB so he is using PR against it.
|1 week 6 days ago||Why are people so against the students||
doing a legitimate protest of displeasure against Dave Brandon? There is nothing wrong with what they are proposing to do. It is peaceful and sends a message. I don't think that it would have any affect on the players either.
I am curious as to where the players heard about the protest. Do they not understand it is about DB and not the team or really Hoke?
|1 week 6 days ago||How do you know that they are in||
favor of DB? Is there some data out there? Missing the kickoff to make a point has nothing to do with supporting the team or not. This is a legitmate means for the students to voice their displeasure over DB. Do you think that DB should be retained?
|2 weeks 2 days ago||that was a catch||
|2 weeks 2 days ago||HaHa||
That actually made me laugh. Well done sir.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||What happened to Peppers?||
Is he hurt? Undergoing team discipline?
|3 weeks 2 days ago||So DB is already imposing||
his ego driven choice via the media? Any coach should be considered. Especially John Harbaugh. However, Jim should not be overlooked and the only reason he is, is because of DB's ego. He will screw this up as well as last time.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||It's Hoke's job to know if that||
happens. There is no excuse for what happened. I think Hoke was pressured (DB or fanbase) to start Morris, and he was upset by that. So his choice was to leave him in to prove a point to the rest of us. He accomplished losing his team and the few supporters he still had in the fanbase.
I used to like Hoke thinking he was at least a nice guy. Not anymore. His behavior injured a player and he has yet to take responsibility.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Hoke is the common denominator||
Hoke sets the tone. The team is soft physically and mentally. Nussmeier has an uphill battle with this group.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||We are not a brand.||
I hate the notion of branding. That comes from marketing firms trying to help crap companies reinvent themselves from the pit they dug themselves into. A brand is just a perception of how they want others to perceive them.
Michigan football is Michigan football. Right now we suck, but we will be back. The first order of business is to fix the problems within the program. We need to get everyone to be pulling in the same direction and get rid of the Carr, Bo, whomever else factions. Dave Brandon being sent packing may start that process. Then we need to hire a coach that is all about winning games and developing student/athletes.
I fear that DB will remain and the healing/rejuvination will be that much further away.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||ESPN article||
I know, I know ESPN meh.
Hoke claims to not hear the jeers becuase coaching is "big boy business". Also states that we can still win title. WOW
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Wow. I really hate seeing strife||
between players. There are a few reasons these things happen. In this case I think it is in response to a lack of faith in the coaching staff and how they have handled things. If what is said about Peppers is true, then they painted the kid in a corner and have totally frustrated him.
I think it is obvious the type of thing going on is seen in the way Hoke handled QB's this week. He never said he was going to start the guy that gave the team the best chance to win, but rather the guy that did whatever during the week. If the players believe that DG is the best player then the coach had better be right when starting the other guy. In this case Hoke was dead wrong and lost his team. Also, I don't think Hoke made the decision based on what the player would bring to the game. I think he started Shane because he was either pressured by DB or felt the pressure from the fan base to do something different.
I hope we don't lose too many to transfer, and get a real HC to straighten things out. Also, DB and anybody that has been pulling the program in different directions since 2008 are huge problems.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||Still think Hoke||
is a good guy but a bad coach?
|3 weeks 3 days ago||I was not aware he did that||
with RR. I don't think any coach should allow it. The coach can handle it in a professional manner. It truly demonstrates a micromanager/meddler personality.
