"as fatigue sets in, I think it would represent an increased level of difficulty to do more things correctly."
I would think fatigue would affect this motion less than raising the arms and elbows in the normal manner and have fewer variables, thus decreasing the level of difficulty.

I hope that DJ Wilson and Wagner (among others) will come back and remember this. It made the biggest difference.

The way he talks about loving this opportunity for his kids to grow up in the environment they are in now, doesn't it seem like Harbaugh hopes and plans to be coaching in Ann Arbor for a long time?

Nothing focuses your attention and makes you appreciate what you have to do to get better than losing a close game. I'm pretty sure that's what he means.
|6 weeks 20 hours ago||I hope this will quiet the||
I hope this will quiet the Fire Beilein crowd (which seemed to be just about everybody around here).
Michigan is finally getting some solid play out of their bigs (i.e. more than one); finally getting some good defense; and finally finding some leadership and inspiration on the floor, which was missing (and there is only so much coaches can do about that).
If the Wolverines continue to get better at defense and rebounding- those things you have control over at times when shooting goes cold and especially on the road, I think the future is bright once again. The system is evolving, and in a good direction. Yes, it has taken longer than we liked, there have been many frustrations, and recruiting needs some improvement. But I think MBB is in good hands, being steered in the right direction.

I understand his reasons for coming out early, but I still wish- for his sake- that he'd stayed and been able to develop some skills- especially coverage skills- further.
He'll need to go to a team that can be patient enough to let those skills develop, or a place like NE or Seattle where the head coach has the security and control to design boutique packages that utilize Peppers in certain situations as role player doing things suited to his superb talents.

But how do these trips not run afoul of NCAA 'improper benefits' regulations?
|9 weeks 1 day ago||The only case where moving it||
The only case where moving it to earlier in November would be following the fivethirtyeight power pairing plan.
But if we keep a conference championship game, I would prefer to keep the OSU game where it is at the end of the regular season, but one extra week before the conference championship game would sure be nice.

I hope they'll wear blue as often as allowed the rest of the way, to keep this in mind.

But it's not. It really just a PR interview fluff piece with the B1G officiating coordinator. He's acting as the officials' attorney- to maintain innocence and plausible deniability for all of the officials actions and decisions, admitting only the most egregious of mistakes.
He's not going to admit to any missed or no calls on holding, PI, poor spots, etc. I wonder if he would have brought up the hit on Webber on the intercetion as a missed call in the interview if the one-sidedness been the other way- I think it was just his way of deflecting criticism.
|13 weeks 4 days ago||Or what about teammates who||
Or what about teammates who have a shot, but if their star players are suddenly not playing. THEIR chances at a pro contract are diminished?. Coaches jobs can be at stake, too. That's the thing about a team sport. This is especially a problem if this phenomena spreads to players shutting it down in a disappointing season, as Adam mentions.
I think the answer may have something to do with the bowls, or the schools, or better yet the NFL paying for some kind of insurance for seniors in case they get hurt in their final games.
|13 weeks 4 days ago||That's the thing- unless you||
That's the thing- unless you are a top-5 lock, any bowl game gives you a chance to improve your posifion. Bowl games generally match two rested, fairly evenly matched teams, so NFL scouts can get a good look at a player against decent competition.

I realize the whole MGoBlog staff has its mind made up about 'Players must be paid', and will accept no arguments otherwise or just ridicule them.
But I was just reading this, "According to the NCAA's Report on Finances, the median cost of a student-athlete is $110,000 in the FBS but under $40,000 in the FCS." Not sure if that includes tuition.
That is the median. For some then it could be considerably more. From the university that's a four year commitment to a player who might be a star, but just as likely may not end up playing more than a few plays in his entire career.

Now that would be a stupid idea. Players should stay for their own improvement; to get a degree; to play an important role. Winning awards is not a reason to stay.
|15 weeks 20 hours ago||Honestly, it's up to his||
Honestly, it's up to his mother. I could see Peppers going either way on his decision.
If she says, "You shouldn't pass up this opportunity"[the NFL payday] or doesn't say much and it's his decision, he'll probably feel that he's got to get her 'that house on the hill'.
On the other hand if she tells him, "I'll be fine. Your happiness, your growth as a young man, and your degree and life after football are so much more important- enjoy your youth," I get a feeling he would come back to be a captain and leader of the team next year.
|15 weeks 2 days ago||i don't think anybody is sure||
i don't think anybody is sure what postion he will play in the pros- special teams certainly, but he still need to work on pass coverage to make it at LB, SS, or Nickel. He really could benefit from an extra year in college that might prolong his career and move up a few spots in the draft, but is it really worth the risk of injury?
|15 weeks 3 days ago||I am a little worried,||
I am a little worried, actually. Haven't seen much of FSU. But they do have speed.
Cook will be the best RB we've faced all year, and I believe Francois can run, too. Where Michigan has been less dominant defensively this year is on longer, sustained drives, especially later in the game- that's where they begin to look more ordinary.
I hope Michigan's offense- especially OL and WRs- show up and display that physicality they were talking about. I'd like to see Darboh and Chesson show up big time, fighting for the ball- that's something we haven't seen enough of this year, especially the last month of the season.
Should be a good, challenging game.

Yeah, but to be fair, unless they've watchd a few of Michigan's games, all the rest of the country knows is about Michigan is, "Really good defense. Solid DL, some CB named Jourdan Lewis who's supposed to be pretty good...and JABRILL PEPPERS!!!"

Do you bask in humidity? Mostly people just sweat. I wouldn't call that basking- but then again, I am not from the south.

In these coaching decisions, I always wonder how much the wife has to do with decisions of staying or where to go. I would say quite a lot.
Recall that Urban Meyer's wife loved their life when he was an assistant at Colorado State and wanted to live there permanently. They has an agreement that she could veto any job offer EXCEPT: Notre Dame, Ohio State...and Michigan.
Maybe Fleck's (new) wife is happy in Kalamazoo. Fleck likes to compete and coaching and I am sure he would like to compete at a "higher level", but maybe he is more into building a program to last and the community,

I expected Cincinnati to have a go at him.
He'd build up their Big XII appeal, and give alumnus Urban some recruiting competition in Ohio.

I doubt the playoff could ever go beyond 8. Somebody was going to be left out, and it was bound to Michigan. When we couldn't finish against Iowa and OSU, our fate was sealed.
Wouldn't have minded quite as much if OSU had also been left out, too, though.

OK, so he meant a guy who isn't wearing maize colored glasses- objective in the sense of not being subjectively in favor of Michigan, so his observations in our favor carry a bit weight. You know what he meant.
