I have a cool story bro moment involving Green. So he went to my church when I was growing up and my mom and his wife were friends. I was at his house, I was probably 9 years old, one day playing him in Super Tecmo Bowl...he picked the Raiders, I chose the Skins. He's up 5, last play of the game, he throws a deep pass, I pick it off...with HIM, and house it for the win. I still give him a hard time for not trusting his teammates more!

Clearly, I am biased as well...but if an SEC team had a strong defense, with an elite HSP, that you cannot run against...consider that with an average run game, and a moderately decent qb...then you have just about every mid-level SEC team, every year. It's Bama to a tee, Tennessee, SC, Georgia. If Michigan had the same roster, same coaching pedigree, and same schedule but played in the SEC, they might be entered into the conversation at this point.
As Scott Van Pelt would say...how good is your good?

a jump to a conclusion. He's still a kid, who may do or say things that as adults we understand to have biiger implications than what he comprehends. Keep in mind, Snoop's son quit, and Puffy went ape shit on a coach there, and now they lose a 5 star TE. My friend who regularly talks to national recruits and coaches on both the HS and college level says there have been hints that something is going on over there that a lot of kids don't like.

if they get rid of the damn commercials. Every commerical break. On every channel. All day and night.

Between all my Michigan sites, and Twitter...I'm not doing anything work related today. (or probably this week.)

It should be noted that they are looking into whether or not athletes are receiving special treatment, or different treatment than other students.

A prep school in VA, we won 3 straight state titles, but private school caveats apply. A lot of our guys got D1 offers, our starting tb/lb got offered by UVA, Tennessee, and Stanford, chose Harvard. Vinny Testaverde went there, Eddie George, (both well before my time) and Chris Perry was a year under me. We also had a qb that I think ended up at Michigan as a back up, Shawn Cassidy I think. Also Carlos Hyde...last count had 17 players on NFL rosters, and Penn State QB Christian Hackenberg.

. He had a press conference and gave $1M to the Boys and Girls club. If he would've annouced he was staying, no one would've cared, he just would've been vreative. Cleveland fans butt-hurt because he left. He didn't owe ANYONE anythintg, you're right, other than himself. He clearly made the right decision, especially looking at Gilbert's comments the next day.
And I couldn't have stated it better: If you feel abandoned because a basketball player left CLEVELAND for MIAMI...matter of fact, if you are upset than anyone leaves Cleveland for fucking Miami...then that's a you problem.

That's how Century Link was designed, to trap and echo the noise from the fans directly back on to the field, which is why it's absurdly loud.

My fiancees has an aunt/uncle that live on Cape Cod, so we are leaving today around 2 pm, and driving from DC to Cape Cod.
Yaaaa Traffic in DC, Baltimore, Philly, NYC, Boston, and Cape Cod!!!!
No idea what the plans are, but we'll be there all weekend.

never had a jersey rip or tear during play? That seems to be one of the biggest concerns when complaining about Adidas. If my opinion mattered, I would almost prefer to be the flagship program for Adidas, than one of the very many for Nike. Hell you can't even recognize MSU uniforms anymore, but the sentiment seems to be that Nike will be some sort of return to the way the uniforms were?
At some point Michigan will pull out special unis again, and I'm not any more comfortable with Nike's creative team designing them, than Adidas. With Nike, it's possible we could look like every other team on Saturday, just in different colors.

is a good guy. He's certainly a company man. He was an agent before coming back to Michigan to work. He's a point of contact for coaches and escorts players around on their tours. That being said, when I went on tours with Hand, Burrell, and Settle I wasn't impressed necessarily with his presentation. Not because he didn't do a good job, but as a lifelong fan, there are things I would've mentioned or discussed that he seemed to gloss over or ignore. We had been there the entire day, and I told Coach Hoke and Chris that we hadn't heard the fight song the entire time we were there. (Devin Gardner was in the room, and was forced to sing...and he has a great voice btw, a deep, classic musical talent that was reminiscent of....I digress)
Chris is a good guy, but I don't think he was a difference maker.
Roy, on the other hand...is a dynamic recruiter.

He's the one you called a sociopath, based seemingly on an article written by Deadspin and his support for a very close college friend.
As far as "descriptive way to introduce..." descriptive can be objective.
It's not relative in any way to Michigan, so it probably should've been OT.

with conference pride being bullshit, however i think Kentucky taking pride in Alabama/LSU dominance is different than hoping one of your conference-mates don't shit the bed on a national scale. The perception of the B1G is already low, and if Ohio would've got smoked by Bama, then it does hurt all of us. When ranking come out next year, Big Ten teams are moved down a notch or two because they are in the B1G, not because they deserve it.

that was Penn State and James Franklin, not Notre Dame.

I was fortunate enough to have to work from home today, so I am trying to pace myself, because I only have 13 episodes before next year. I watched 1 today...and I remeber why i love it so much.
|31 weeks 5 days ago||yeah||
but elite talents are not. And AP isn't just a rb, and never has been...he's been great since high school.
|31 weeks 5 days ago||I agree||
completely. No need to be holier than though. None of these guys are priests or moral authorities on anything. Why do you care what he does off the field? Outside of your fantasy team and sunday afternoon, his life is his personal life. If I rooted for a team, I would jump at the chance to take AP..or Suh..or Jameis Winston. If I were running a church, then I would take Tim Tebow.

the late hit in the 06 OSU game? That could've sent Michigan to a NC game.
|31 weeks 5 days ago||umm...||
Late hit in the 06 OSU game??????????????????? Worst call ever!
|31 weeks 6 days ago||yeah but...||
no matter how you slice it, there is no greater indicator of success than a high rating, whether it is success in college, or projecting the number of elite high school prospects to the NFL draft. Nothing is perfect, but the rating is the most consistent system available.

don't think college players should be monetarily compesated. ...wait, is that the popular or unpopular opinion?
|33 weeks 4 days ago||Randy Moss||
not Jerry Rice, as the greatst NFL receiver of all time.
And I'm more impressed with Tom Brady's accomplishments, than Joe Montana, who played with no salary cap on essentially a hall of fame team.
|35 weeks 2 days ago||out of curiosity...||
why do so many prople seem to be against playing Osu at night? Seems like a marquee opponent at night would be a good thing not a bad thing. Is there anything else in play here other than "tradition"?
|35 weeks 4 days ago||I think there's truth to this||
There are certain things that are inherent, for example higher income genereally equals college graduates. Staistically you are more likely to go/complete college if your parents are college graduates.
There are other reasons for this. Low income areas have poorly funded educational systems, so it can be difficult to overcome, while learning good test-taking and study skills. "Poor" schools in Washington DC, or Detroit...are different than "poor" schools in suburbia. There isn't a culture of success. It's the same as a football team, part of succeeding and exceling is shedding the culture of failure.
I can see how there could be some resentment for college kids who are going to school with rich kids. At University of Richmond, the student parking ot has better cars than the faculty lot. It CAN (not necessarily does) cause a divide. If you have to work to have extra money while in school, or work during the breaks, you don't have the same experiences as those who don't have to. And people tend to gravitate towards those who share their experiences.

Only 2-4? That's not bad, and it's not going to be below freezing until Tuesday. At least in the DMV everything shuts down with every little bit of snow.
