| 1 year 35 weeks ago | Every once in a while I like |
Every once in a while I like to go really old school and pull out my Scott Dreisbach jersey. For a while, it used to mean that I was supporting the man himself, the Coner. Now, it's Roundtree and I'll take that. |
| 1 year 38 weeks ago | Day 1... |
I believe Day 1 is going to be a countdown of the Top 10 plays at Michigan Stadium, as voted by the fans on mgoblue.com. |

I remember bawling my eyes out after Michigan lost at Purdue 9-3 (or something like that) in the mid-90s. That said, that was a weak reaction compared to what happened after Clockgate and the 2000 Northwestern game. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Thanks...didn't do much research into NCAA rules |
I guess my idea is nixed. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Let's use this year as an example... |
Ohio State is 8-0 in the league. They get in to the championship. Iowa and PSU are tied at 7-1. Iowa beat PSU head-to-head, so they go to the championship to play OSU. If there is some crazy year where the champ would be 7-1 or 8-1 and 4 teams tie at 5-3 or 6-3 for 2nd, that'd be an issue. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | How about they just scrap the idea of divisions? |
Maybe this has been posted on here, and I just haven't seen it yet, but how about each team just play 9 conference games, and the teams with the 2 best records play in the championship game. No divisions needed. I realize a 3 way tie for 2nd may sometimes exist, but it's not like that didn't happen in the Big 12 South in 2008. Just a thought. |
| 2 years 30 weeks ago | I think their best wins are comparable... |
It's the other wins that separates Texas and Florida from Iowa, not the big name wins. As another poster said, Texas and Florida aren't beating I-AA teams and horrible D-I teams by 1 and 3 points at home. If you are the #2 team in the nation, that shouldn't happen. Iowa's narrow wins is what should be penalizing them. |
| 2 years 30 weeks ago | Iowa |
I'm just not sure what Iowa has done to merit being #2. They have a great win over Penn State. That PSU win looks more impressive to me given what the Lions did to UM on Saturday. However, I know this goes away from the "what have you done for me lately" mantra that drives the polls, but some of Iowa's wins are just not to impressive to me. Examples: I think they are a top 5 team, but I wouldn't be comfortable putting them at #2. My top 5 would be Texas, Alabama/Florida (can't decide), then Iowa, and Cincinnati with Boise St. just on the outside looking in. |
| 2 years 31 weeks ago | You cannot stop him... |
You cannot stop David Cone, you can only hope to contain him. The people in my section were hoping for Cone to run a zone read keep, so that we could see his 4.4 speed in action. Seriously, where can I get my blue #17 jersey? |
| 2 years 31 weeks ago | Who else is Michigan going to play in week 7? |
The open week coming in the middle of the season makes it tough to schedule anyone. Right now, UM is experiencing injuries to key players at key positions. Why should we bring in Florida/Georgia/Texas/USC/whatever other BCS school you want? No BCS school wants to play a non-rival non-conference team in the middle of the season. This game is great as it "should" be relatively easy, and give Michigan a chance to rest some of its wounded players while also giving the guys some game reps. |
