The big difference between those upsets and us potentially upsetting PSU, is those top ranked teams may have had issues "getting up" for those opponents. They are teams that no one expects to be able to compete and should just roll over as the highly ranked team rolls through town. PSU is not going to have any trouble getting up for us this weekend. I fully believe we can win this game and there are multiple scenarios I can see where we do indeed pull the upset. I just think there is a big difference between our circumstances and those surrounding the upsets by Syracuse, ASU and ISU.
Carolina is the obvious one but I actually think Jacksonvillecould pull it off too. I know Bortles is a hot mess but they improved their D again in the offseason. Indy is going to start 0 and however many games Luck is out for sure. Houston is starting Tom bleeping Savage. Tennessee to me is the favorite in this division but if Jax can just get competant QB play for the most part this season I think they could surprise some people.

However, I have had many conversations with people who said when their kids are old enough to play PeeWee football they are going to allow them. I will always defend my stance but I do not judge or berate those people for their parenting decisions.
I am with you 100% on this! I played in high school and had one concussion but luckily I was playing QB (although not very well lol) and had a great O-Line so I only got hit twice all year. I enjoyed my time playing football for sure but if I knew this info when I was 16 I never would have played!

I don't understand how any parent can consciously allow their child to start playing at a young age with all the information that is available now. I do understand that when they get to high school your hands may be tied and they may do it anyways but I am hoping he enjoys golf or baseball or whatever else more by then!

That is incredibly inaccurate as I'm sure most people here are aware. I believe it was the high school QB in NJ that died a couple years (please correct me if I am wrong) that had his brain tested and they found level 3 or 4 CTE. That means the CTE would have started developing at the end of his PeeWee football days or his early high school years. That is terrifying!
Berdych is making this a little more difficult on Federer than I expected him too. Never the less Fed is still up 2-0 after two tiebreakers and looks like he will go into the finals not having dropped a single set.

Raonic just can't hang with Federer on grass. He can barely hang with him on any surface but Federer on grass is just ridiculous. Raonic just seems to be step down from the Big 4. It is a very odd development indeed. They actually discussed that a bit this morning but it sounds like the incident happened less than an hour after he got back to the house from the course. Obviously a lot can be done in an hour and I'm sure there will be a lot of questioning going on but hopefully this actually was just a bad luck incident. I like DJ and he is a lot of fun to watch.
They said it on Live from the Masters this morning. They didn't give any updates to exactly how he is feeling, they just said he will be teeing off as planned and is highly unlikely to withdraw. However, he could get to the practice range and after hitting a few shots realize he can't do it and withdraw at that time but as of now he is expected to play.
Sounds like Dj is going to tee it up today. Even if he is able to get through today and tomorrow I find it hard to believe he will be able to everything he normally does. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see him miss the cut.

I have never heard it referred to quite as accurately as you just stated. I am about a 14 handicap but only have time to play 8-10 rounds a year. I have a 2 and 4 year old and my wife and I both work full time Monday-Friday so trying to get out more than once every 2-3 weeks during the summer is difficult. I wish I could be more selfish and dedicate more time to the game to improve but it just isn't in the cards.
Going to the Masters is definitely very high up on my bucket list. I have spoke to a few people that have gone and they said the same thing about TV just nt doing the course justice. I have been putting my name in the draw every year for the past 5 years or so but no luck yet. Hoping that I get lucky in the next few years and can take my dad. I'm sure it would be a trip we will never forget!
I want to see just one tournament (hopefully this week) where you get Rory, DJ and Speith all having their A game. I fully believe Rory and DJ are 1a and 1b when they have their best game. They can shrink a course like no one else and when you pair that with great wedge play it is incredible to watch. I put Speith just behind those 2 because he doesn't quite have a power they possess. If Rory putts well this week I think he wins by 2-3 strokes.
I like Rory this year. If he can avoid the 74 he usually has on Thursday or Friday of every tournament the past year or so he could run away with it. It's hard to bet against DJ the way he's playing but Rory treats The Masters the same way Tiger did. He wants it so bad, loves the course and it suits his game well. My fandom started with my love of college sports overtaking my love of professional sports. When I was growing up watching sports with my dad it was geared more towards professional sports aside from Saturday college football. He was a "Michigan fan" but never all the much into it. In 1997 my stepdad brought me to Ann Arbor for the first time for the UM/OSU game. Unfortunately we weren't able to get tickets but watched the game in a bowling alley bar near by. I was a fan at that time as a 12 year old but nothing like I am today. But the passion I experienced that day from Michigan fans, seeing the Big House (even from the ooutside) and having that be the first game I ever watched in totality locked me in for life!
Since that game I have become a bigger Michigan fan than anyone I know. Unfortunately going to the school was never an option me as being from Windsor made in finacially impossible. I live and die with everything Michigan football and basketball now and have already successfully brainwashed my wife and my 4 year old son. My 2 year old daughter isn't far behind!

Brooks is legit but if he struggles early he will get frustrated. When he gets frustarted he tends to play out of control and take really questionable shots along with his fair share of charges (as long as some one is willing to get in front of the freight train).
This is why I think whoever gets the assignment of slowing him down is the key to our success in this game. Assuming it's DJ at the start I think his length will drive Brooks crazy and get him frustrated early hopefully resulting in foul trouble.
I will never forget my reaction to Trey Burke's shot. Probably because I embarassed myself in front of my wife's family. They all know I am die hard Michigan fan so the yelling and screaming throughout the game didn't seem to come as any surprise to them. However, when I jumped in the air and took my shirt off as Burke's shot went in, my wife's grandmother was mortified. Admittedly not one of my prouder moments but that family still mentions it from time to time and gets a good laugh at my expense.
Glad to see I'm not the only that picked those 2 upsets! I wouldn't be surprised if MTSU beats Minnesota by double digits. Don't know much about Winthrop but I have seen Butler a couple times and they don't impress me at all.
I just read this as well while watching the gamecast. I guess given the circumstances JB may have felt it was better to get there and get the game out of the way ASAP so in the event they won they would have plenty of time to rest up before tomorrow's game.
