Here's my plan:

1)…

Here's my plan:

1) Everyone gets a baseline value (i.e. communist football)

2) Establish NILs for the most valuable recruits (QB, OL, DL, DB) with an advance upon signing your LOI (Boosters would handle this) (i.e. capitalist football)

3) Include a longevity bonus that pays out at the completion of year 3/4/5 upon declaring for the draft or upon expiry of eligibility.  The amount of the bonus to be set based on an impact player rating over the season(s)

4) Drugs and hookers.

Guardian of victory punt!

Who do we know that was just…

Who do we know that was just fired for cause from their football program and is suing his university for unjust firing that wouldn't mind burning the place down?  Yea that guy is probably leaking info to Michigan.  I don't think Day would be involved with the conspiracy to steal Michigan's signals because I expect Ohio to have their own internal signal stealing department.  Now, Day definitely hired his brother to build the evidence against Harbaugh.

So universities listen to…

So universities listen to people with money (i.e. donors).  Perhaps someone that knows how to start GoFundMe sites can start one for alumni donations (& M friends alike) where we promise to make a donation to the Michigan Athletic Department for use in NIL if the following occur:

1) Emmanuel is removed and an AD that will fully support Harbaugh is hired; and

2) The University and Athletic department commit to fully supporting and defending Harbaugh on these recent allegations AND they resign Harbaugh to a long term contract to coach Michigan.

I personally would donate to such a GoFundMe proposal.

Theories on Stalions'…

Theories on Stalions' sources and methods:

a) he employed a team of remote viewers to gain access to opponents' signals that are actively working from the basement of Schembechler Hall (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmzGa-X2144);

b) he decodes the signals in real time using a homegrown server using the latest NVIDIA chips and AI;

c) he has connections to those who currently run military spy satellites at the NSA and is watching every one of our opponents practices during the week;

d) he has purchased Iranian spy drones in the black market and has unleashed them on our opponents...

To be continued...

Trouble with the snap...

Hopefully Day ends up being…

Hopefully Day ends up being Cooper 2.0.  11-1 seasons with losses to Michigan.  That will make him last long there and give us the edge!

Must have been all that…

Must have been all that THUNDER and Lightning!  They better get ready for LIGHTNING and more LIGHTNING this year!

Michigan has a punter?

Given we don't punt anymore, glad Robbins has found a new job!

Based on his 247 page and GPA, there's only one school for him! Go Blue! (Not to mention, LSU is his #2? Does he not know about tomato Kelly?)

Cade without Haskins feels…

Cade without Haskins feels different.  It is almost like he lost his mojo when H2 graduated.  JJ, wow.  I don't think we've had a QB like that since Henson.  I'm stoked!

I live about 10 minutes from…

I live about 10 minutes from my job, but I'm WFH now and my company is remote first unless your job requires you to be on campus (which is very few jobs).  I love it.  I get calls all the time from other employers for flex-type roles, but there is really no way I would move.  I love where I live and my mortgage rate is locked at 2.85%.  I do pretty well, but these job offers are usually for more money, but when you consider the taxes, its really not a lot more and I would have to give up my flexibility.  It just isn't worth it IMO.  In the long run, I think the employers that freely offer remote roles will be more successful.

All great choices.  I'm…

All great choices.  I'm excited for this team.  Cade may not by JJ in the athleticism department, but boy does he display that X factor that, shall I say, Brady had and still has.

I disagree with folks that…

I disagree with folks that Jimmy/Saul/Gene would have taken the 7.5 years.  Remember, Jimmy only became full Saul when Kim left him.  When Kim showed up to his sentencing, just that little bit of Kim showing she still cared about Jimmy, made him revert from Saul back to Jimmy.  He knew the only way he was going to get Kim back was if he was as honest as she was.  And you know what, it worked. For Jimmy, having the possibility of having Kim back in his corner meant more to him than all those years in prison.

I hear they're going to have…

I hear they're going to have a prequel to Better Call Saul....The Rise of Gus.

I think we will see 4…

I think we will see 4 additional teams added with Washington being one of them. Personally, I would add Washington, Utah, Oregon, and Arizona.  If that happens then we have 20 big ten teams and could have four divisions of 5 teams each.

A: USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Arizona

B: PSU, Rutgers, Maryland, OSU, Northwestern

C: Michigan, MSU, Indiana, Illinois, Purdue

D: Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Utah

10 big 10 games per season, where you play every team in your division and 2 in each of the other divisions.

Personally, I think all you…

Personally, I think all you guys are spot on with the NIL/transfer portal being an area that Harbaugh sees as needing fixing.  I seriously doubt the problem is his or his assistants' compensation.  We know he is as pro-player as they come and is probably pushing extremely hard not just for recruiting purposes, but also because he rather see some money flow to the players as well.  Harbaugh knows the only way to get these fixed is to use his contract as leverage and what better way than to threaten leaving to the NFL.  Knowing UofM quite well, I could see the NIL/portal being a huge point of contention given what Harbaugh wants/needs may conflict with what the other sports (aside from men's basketball and hockey) at the university could offer their players (thinking equity among the sports here).  I hope they listen to Harbaugh because with the current paradigm in college football where the Texas A&Ms of the world are offering 20-30 million to recruits and the Easter Michigan's offering 1 million to a single player, UofM football could quickly become Northwestern without a substantial change.  Not to mention, what current successful college football coach would want to replace Harbaugh knowing we can't compete for the top recruits?

We ran a lot because the…

We ran a lot because the Huskies seemed to have a defensive plan for Ohio State instead of Michigan.  Washington kept one of their safeties so deep most of the game that he was a non-factor  in the run defense.  They also refused to stack the box despite Michigan not passing.  I guess they didn't think Harbaugh would go straight 1982 and just run it down their throats.  The numbers almost always favored a run and although our O-line missed a ton of blocks (give W credit here), our backs usually found a hole to exploit.

Corum reminds me of…

Corum reminds me of Christian McCaffrey with the acceleration and elusiveness.  He's going to put up some numbers this year.

I think we are passed the…

I think we are passed the point of whether UAPs are real.  I think we are at the point of who's technology is it.  The fact that humans still think other advanced civilizations don't exist tells you how primitive we still are.  In my opinion, I am more intrigued about whether these UAPs represent an advanced civilization that has been living here for many years undiscovered or whether they are from another planet.  The deep state argument is intriguing because if we assume UAPs are real and have been here for years then it is in the defense department's interest to keep it secret until of course they can't anymore (which technology has advanced to the point where almost every person on earth carries camera, cars will soon record everything (like Teslas currently do), and even homes). I don't expect the government to give us real good photos because I'm sure they want to reverse engineer those suckers and don't want our adversaries doing the same.

I agree with a lot of what…

I agree with a lot of what is in this post, but what is missing is that there IS something wrong with the culture that transcends the head coach.  Harbaugh is not a bad coach.  Bad coaches don't win Orange Bowls and take teams to the Super Bowl.  I think the problems go even deeper than who the head coach is.  Personally, I think we need someone from the SEC like a Mullen who knows how to play the SEC recruiting game and can coach or a proven coach at a second-tier football program that over performs (a la Chryst).  Fickell, Campbell, & Fleck are pretty much at their ceiling and none are really an upgrade over Harbaugh in my opinion.

My list:

1) Urban

2) Mullen

3) Chryst

4) Cristobal

5) Kiffin (would bring back Durkin & Partridge)

I can see why this is tough

I can see why this is tough for Jabril.  Playing for Michigan and Harbaugh is probably as close to football utopia as you can get.  I get the sense that Jabril is a football junkie.  He probably realizes that this is the best it gets when it comes to pure football.  The flip side is that he does want to help his family out and he's a potential first rounder.  And you add to that he can take out an insurance policy in case of disaster.  Tough call.  You are fighting your love for football vs your need to help out your family.  If I were in his shoes, my decision would come down to my mom.  If I thought she would be fine with me playing an extra year of college ball, I would stay and savor the moment.  If I thought she needed help ASAP, then you go, no questions asked.  Whatever he decides, you can bet that he thought this over quite a bit and ultimately chose unselfishly because I get the sense that if it was just him in this world, he would stay.

NFL Overtime:1) Coint Toss

NFL Overtime:

1) Coint Toss for decision on who receives the ball and who kicks off.

2) Receiving Team A has 2 minutes to advance ball.  If Team A scores, then they must kick off to Team B and 2 minutes are placed on the clock.  If Team A does not score after two minutes, Team B gets the ball wherever the ball was when the clock hits zero, and 2 more minutes are placed on the clock.  Each team is given a single timeout for their 2 minutes.

3)  Team that scores the most points wins.

4) If the score is tied, then Team B decides from what yard line they will kick the tie-breaking field goal.  After Team B kicks, then Team A gets a chance to kick.  Team A must kick from at least one yard farther away than from where Team B kicked if Team B made their kick.  If Team A also makes the field goal, then Team A wins because they kicked in from farther away than Team B. However if Team B missed their kick, then Team A can kick if from anywhere.

5) If both team miss their kicks, then you repeat step 4 in the inverse order until one Team wins.

The END.

Start the wagers

So which SEC team hires Briles?

My thoughts: a) don't ask for

My thoughts: a) don't ask for flexible work arrangements until you've been at least 1 year with the company and understand their culture b) regarding the salary, you need to have an accurate idea of what you're worth. If your two offers are nearly identical, my guess is that it will be tough to get more money than 1-2%. If there is larger difference, like 5-10% difference between the offers, then you're salary range may be quite variable and you may have some room to negotiate. Reason being is that for some positions, the salary range is quite fixed because employers have a good sense of the market for that position. Others, the demand is greater and thus the market is in flux, so it's difficult to nail down the salary without some negotiation.

What I don't get about his

What I don't get about his argument is that the number of practices are capped.  So it doesn't matter whether you work on spring break or not, you will have exactly the same number of practices.  SEC MATH.

Phase 2: Michigan holds Fall

Phase 2: Michigan holds Fall camp in Miami along with the Dolphins.

This guy looks like a rookie

This guy looks like a rookie compared to Mattison.  This looks like a bad hire on USC's part.

MSU Defense

I think you need to force OSU to throw. MSU had the right idea and I bet you their defensive strategy to play close to the line wasn't dependent on the weather.  For M to win, it must limit their running.  JT will not win the game against us if he has to throw on more than 60% of the plays.

I think you spy JT all game, and have the other linebacker cue on Zeke. I would prefer Peppers play in the box (as a linebacker/safety) and focus on Zeke as well.  I would put Thomas on Braxton with an emphasis on jamming at the line.  OSU is 100th in the nation on passing and I don't think they will be able to beat us if we shut down their run game.  They also show a tendency to panic when you do shut their run game down.

Just makes you wonder...

So glad Pep came to Michigan.  I have this feeling that Harbaugh and Peppers are at a different level than anyone else on this team in terms of competitiveness.  With his talent and two years under Harbaugh, watch out.  There's no better coach in college at developing players.

I booed

but it was when Brady Hoke decided not to take Morris out of the game after what appeared like a concussion-like hit.  I had a great vantage point from my seat (being that I was on the 40 yrd line and row 10 opposite of the Michigan team) and I can't imagine Brady not seeing Morris fall after that hit.

If he pulls stuff like this

If he pulls stuff like this while playing TE we will all be saying how bad Hoke was to not see he was a TE lol...

How about a rule requiring

How about a rule requiring the guy who scored the touchdown to kick the extra point?  Would definitely make it more interesting and variable.

If Weber was smart, he would

If Weber was smart, he would transfer immediately from OSU to Michigan.  He isn't going to play much or at all this year anyways at OSU.  Go home Weber.  You really want to spend the next four years at place that is not honest with you?

I bet he says he wants to be part of a TEAM again...

BTW, I found this on youtube...Jim H. giving a pep talk to the Kansas basketball team during March Madness...Best part is he talks about the kind of players he would want on his team if he were playing basketball...

Makes sense when you take

Makes sense when you take into account what Hackett said about his swimming lanes.  Negotiating with the niners first makes Harbaugh available today even though he may still be coaching until late Dec.  If he is candidate #1, then you get your answer quickly and can move on before losing other candidates.  If he says yes, then BANG we got Jimmy.    We know that waiting until after the bowl game (a la Brandon) can result in Hoke-like candidates only being available.

If true, niners get certainty Jim won't ever coach against them (this is probably valuable given that Oakland REALLY wants him and is in their market and would be a NO NO for the niners) and possibly the buyout plus cash (which they could use to acquire a more suitable coaching candidate).  While unconventional, makes sense from the niners/wolverines side.

Only stone left unturned, is will Jim's family be content leaving the bay area.  Perhaps, Jim H. suggested it as a way to tell his wife, "I've got no other choice", so that he can take his dream job.

Strike fast, Hackett!!!

8 million justifiable if linked to performance

First off, Jim H. is at 5 million in the NFL.  You must pay him more to pry him away.  So that means, at a minimum, you must pay >5 million.  So what is the ceiling?  One can look at Nick Saban who is at 7.2 million (and got an additional 3 million for his mortgage from boosters) for the ceiling, but that is assuming that Jim. H is a worse performer than Nick.  So that puts us at 5 million to 7.2 million as the range if the assumption that Jim H. is a worse performer is correct.

D'antonio makes 5.6 million and has 0 national championships and 2 conference championships.  Saban has 4 national championships and 5 conference championships.  Jim H. has 2 NFL Conference championships and 0 major college conference championships.  Nick Saban won less than 47% of his games as an NFL coach where Jim H. has won over 72%.  So while Jim H. arguably has not had the same level of success in college as Nick, Jim H. is way more sucessful at the NFL level and has shown the ability to be a great college coach at a previously laughable football program.

So while the argument that "he can't make more than Nick because he hasn't been as successful as NIck in college" is a valid argument,  one can also argue that he deserves more than Nick because he has proven more successful at a higher level and given the opportunity in a major football program, he will be just as successful or more in college.

So how does one reconcile this?  I think 8 million if incentive laden is probably spot on.

A compensation package of 6 million base + $500K for Big Ten Championship + $500 for a playoff appearance + $1 million for a National Championship may seem high, but a big bonus for performance is a good way for Michigan to hedge their bets (in case he doesn't win big), while being enough to lure Jim H. away from the NFL.  Let's face it, if he is as good as Nick, we will end up paying him Nick-like money anyways just to keep him.  It also makes the buyout really high which would serve to detract NFL teams from attempting to poach him after every successful year.   The high buyout will also serve as a dagger for those negative recruiters who will argue he is leaving to the NFL after every good season he has at Michigan.  And if he performs more like D'antonio, then he gets D'antonio-like money.  It is a win-win.  We do know if past performance is an indicator of future performance, that there is no way he has Hoke-like seasons ahead of him at Michigan.  He will either be more like D'antonio (almost always a contender for the Big Ten Championship) or more like Saban (almost always a contender for the National Championship).

Genius by Hackett if this is true.  Hackett gets my approval (not that he needs it) for the 8 mil/year if comp is tied heavily to performance.

This teams needs to win 4 out

This teams needs to win 4 out of the last 5 games JUST to equal last year's record.  I just don't see that happening.  If I had to guess, we win 2/5 and finish 5-7 with a best case scenario of 6-6.  I can't imagine he gets a renewal or gets to finish his contract.

At this point, I agree with

At this point, I agree with most on here.  This goes beyond performance on the field.  I was at the game, granted I was in row 13 and by the 20 yard line which was pretty close to Shane when he took the hit to the head, and I was appalled that Shane not only stayed in the game after that hit, but came back in for Gardner.  Everyone, including me, was yelling for Shane to be removed from the game.  I don't know what game Hoke was watching, but it certainly wasn't UM vs Minnesota.  And if Hoke really didn't see him get hit or almost fall down to the point he needed to be held up, does he not have ANYONE watching the health of the QB?  I can't sit here and believe that not ONE coach was aware of what transpired with Morris.  Not saying Hoke is trying to injure players, but maybe his "toughness" is a little out of whack.  There is a time for toughness and there is a time for seeing a doctor.

I hope Dave Brandon and the rest of UofM's administration realize that this goes way beyond football.  Hoke should be immediately suspended, pending an investigation, and ultimately removed from his duties.  If I were a parent of any of the players, I would not allow my son to even practice under this man.  Thank God that Shane is okay.

I'm sort of a pass-spread

I'm sort of a pass-spread aficionado...Remember when Lloyd went all pass-spread happy on Florida...I wish we would have gone that route.  It keeps your QB from taking a pounding and most college teams don't have more than 2 good corners.  Man-ball is outdated and relies too much on a good D.  Coach Hoke is a nice guy, but not a cerebral coach which is what you need these days if you're going to be a powerhouse.  When was the last time someone saw a play we ran and decided to recycle it?

Here's what Brandon should

Here's what Brandon should do.  Ala USC, fire Hoke put Nuss has interim coach.  This way, if Nuss kicks ass and beats OSU, we keep him.  If not, then we bring in a big name coach.

That might be the worst game

That might be the worst game I've EVER seen out of Michigan.  Let's start talking next head coach please.  No way Hoke recovers from this unless he pulls a Carr and wins every game after this.

Question

Anybody know how Nussmeier's offense will accomodate a running QB?  I don't think I ever saw Alabama intentially run the QB.  Just wondering how this would be done in his offense.  Do you guys think we will just run some zone read option plays within his offense?
