I'm not sure it's a coincidence that Wichita State got a stacked region (would you really be surpised to see any of the top 4 seeds or Kentucky make the Final Four, I don't think any other region has 5 plausible options) )...or that both Louisville and UM are playing their mentee's teams

The Ball knows...when you're secretly a 27 year old in your 9th season of eligibility and should have already graduated (twice)

I love the Nebraska/Tim Miles stories THIS year. But is it wrong to start referring to Miles as Poindexter in preparation for when they're competing for the Big Ten title race next year and I start to hate them? I need a ruling.

I wouldn't be surprised to see both UM and Wiscy get a 2-seed with them getting the better draw. Objectively they have a better overall record, have beaten the #1 team/SEC Champ, AND the ACC Champion, and split with us head-to-head.

Justin Fargas (who was Huggy Bear's kid) was here as a freshman football player. He got injured here, eventually transferred to USC and actually played in the NFL for a little bit

I was absolutely sure that Searight and Bernard Robinson would take our team to the Tourney eventually...B-Rob gave us some ridiculous games, but Searight threw away his career before it ever started.

Did Huggy Bear's kid ever play basketball?? He was a pretty good freshman RB for football and he was supposed to do track, but don't think he ever played bball.

"Air Georgia" aka Brent Petway was the most entertaining to watch.
Great dunker and rebounder and could do absolutely nothing else, and it was awesome. (And if you're thinking GR3, just know that Petway was an even better dunker, a great rebounder and incredibly bad at all other basketball activities).

Don't think I've ever seen that at the end of a 1st half... but I guess I never saw a team shoot 70% for an entire half either

Yup, I am now caught in a never-ending 5 second loop of Happiness, where balls hang forever, until they are forced to go back home...A place I like to call the Hoop.
|10 weeks 22 hours ago||True, I know that Walton||
True, I know that Walton has more long-term potential there, but the offense just runs smoother when Spike is in the game right now, and those slow starts will kill us aganst better teams.
|12 weeks 4 days ago||The more I watch this||
The more I watch this season, the more I think Spike should be playing more now AND for the rest of the year. Our PG this year doesn't have to be a scorer/shot creater. We have Stauskas/McGary/GR3/Levert who can fulfill that role. At PG, we just need someone that can distribute the ball efficiently w/ minimal turnovers and knock down an open shot. That's Spike personified (the over-dribbling needs to stop though).
|12 weeks 4 days ago||I think Spike is not only||
I think Spike is not only the best option for UM, but just simply a legitimately good option at PG. Spike is doing exactly what this team needs (a steady hand that allows other players to play their best games). Next year, an experienced Walton is probably the better primary option, but there's no good reason to force Walton into that role right now.

Kentucky is that good. By polls, talent and play they're a top 5 team now and are going to be better.
|17 weeks 6 hours ago||Great Analysis||
Great analyis here...one small pet peeve, every running back's numbers probably has a similar run distribution of longer runs, so it doesn't make sense to remove those runs when talking production.
|17 weeks 5 days ago||One of our strengths this||
One of our strengths this year will be our flexibility since so many of UM's players can play more than 1 position (Levert, GRIII, Irvin, Stauskas, McGary, even Spike kind of). Mine as well experiment, get players some experience in different roles, and see if some line-up works better than expected.

All of the shuffling is what has me the most frustrated, (would the Bryant/Glasgow/Kalis group have gotten better just based on familiarity??)....I guess I want to see them at least take a class from freshman to seniors before we get the pitch forks out.
|18 weeks 5 days ago||3 things||
1. The interior of our offensive line is not good right now.
2. The interior of our offensive line are mostly freshman, RS freshman or just hadn't played a whole lot before this season.
3. Because of point 2, there is a high potential that they are not a finished product and will get better
|18 weeks 6 days ago||Very true, but the one||
Very true, but the one thing I'm scared of with this team is that they need to find the person who's going to demand the ball and get a basket when the offense goes cold (as it does for all teams).
We have a few people (GRIII, McGary, Stauskas, maybe Irvin or Walton) who CAN do that, Im not entirely convinced that any of them have that aggressiveness in them to actually do it.
