I believe you're thinking of

I believe you're thinking of Reid Fragel.

A good chunk of those players
A good chunk of those players were guys who comitted to Luke Fickell/Jim Tressell prior to the implosion. There is always going to be a huge number of transfers when a class experiences a coaching change. Look at the fallout from Rodriguez's classes under Hoke. Quit a few of these guys, like Mike Mitchell, Jamal Marcus, Noah Spence, David Perkins, and Jeremey Cash, were blue chip players at positions of need who would have seen the field.
  • Timothy Gardner

Gardner was arrested before he arrived on campus and never joined the eam.

  • Mike Mitchell

Mitchell's father has a terminal illness and he asked to leave the team to be home with him and took a year off of football. He will re-enroll at Texas Tech and live at home.

  • Jayme Thompson

Transferred after a red shirt season due to injury.

  • Frank Epitropoulos

Left the team to focus on his medical degree, stayed enrolled at Ohio State.

  • Jamal Marcus

Academically ineligible, transferred to Akron. Would have been starter in 2014 with Spence's suspension.

  • Najee Murray

Suspended indefinetely for a, "violation of team rules".

  • Joey O'Connor

Multiple knee injuries, transferred to Colorado State and quit football.

  • David Perkins

Transferred to Bowling Green, was arrested, re-transferred to ISU.

  • Se'von Pittman

Transferred to Akron after, "off field incidents"

  • Luke Roberts

Transferred to Harvard(!) to focus on academics.

  • Ricquan Southward

Left during the school year for "personal reasons", hasn't rejoined another university.

  • Noah Spence

Lifetime ban from the Big 10 for two failed drugs tests for ecstacy. Likely to play for Eastern Kentucky this hyear.

  • Blake Thomas

Quit football after a training camp injury that left him with a high risk of paralysis.

  • Brian Bobek

Transferred to Minnesota.

  • Tommy Brown

Transferred to Akron after not earning a starting spot on the O-line.

  • Jeremy Cash

Transferred to Duke, All-American and likely to be drafted when he leaves.

  • Conner Crowell

Quit football after having two microfracture knee surgeries.

  • DerJuan Gambrell

Kicked off the team after arrest for assault.

  • Kenny Hayes

Left the school, transferred to Toledo, never saw the field due to an arrest.

  • Ejuan Price

Asked to be let out of his LOI, never joined the team.

The "unofficial" times they

The "unofficial" times they announce are hand timed by someone from the NFL. The "official" times are the actual electronic timing data. Just goes to show why hand timed 40's are worthless.

If you're fast you're fast, but 100 meter dash is more sprinting mechanics at the top end of the run than the first 40 yards. Also the clock starts when the gun goes off, not when they start to move.

Gesicki was 50/50

Gesicki was 50/50 Buckeye/Penn State, and BOB was his lead recruiter. Buckeyes still don't have a TE in this class. If there was an odd man out in their number crunch, it would be Smith. This feels like they told him his spot isn't guaranteed anymore with Gesicki back in play.

Uhhh, Frank Clark?

Uhhh, Frank Clark?

I think Borges is still stuck

I think Borges is still stuck on the pre-Walsh idea that you HAVE to run to set up the pass. No matter what.

Great. Let them more off the

Great. Let them more off the clock before they score. This is an abortion.

Huh?

I would hardly call the 49ers and the Seahawks shitty organizations with shitty QB's. Both made deep playoff runs when he was with them, both were thin at WR, and in both cases he failed to seperate himself from the other WR's on the roster. They aren't high passing attempt teams, but neither were the Jets when Braylon was with them on their 2009-2010 playoff runs and played pretty well. If there is something wrong, it's with Braylon.

"So, you are saying

"So, you are saying essentially that a bouncer at a bar like you probably should judge cases of violence against women?"

No, the police should, and did in this case, and it's a rare day to see charges actually pressed unless there is some visible physical damage and we don't really have any evidence of that. No, he should have struck back at her, and no, she should not be held blameless for striking out at him in the first place.

I guess I don't care about Urban Meyer as much as everyone else on this board seems to. Trying to use case law regarding domestic violence below to justify why a prosecutor would move forward on this is so ignorant of the realities of law enforcement and the justice system I can't see this going anywhere with you, though.

Having worked security at

Having worked security at horrible night clubs in my less fruitful years, I've probably seen this same incident play out about 5000 times. Hyde and the girl both acted like immature youths at a night club, mood altered by alcohol. She should not have slapped at him, and he should not have slapped back. I would think Hyde deserves some sort of punishment by their coaching staff, but police would not waste time with an issue like this at any club I worked at. It's not excuseable to strike at someone, but people acting like a real violent crime was committed here or, "THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN IN SW MICHIGAN" sound like a bunch of neck beards who haven't left mom's basement much. And this certainly didn't deserve the media attention it has received.

Tom Herman, who pretty much

Tom Herman, who pretty much everyone including Buckeye sites believe will be gone for a HC role next year.

FWIW, the alleged victim in

FWIW, the alleged victim in this case left the country on Sunday for vacation. Columbus police are saying they will release the video and any charges after they interview her upon her return. Apparently her absence has been what's keeping this thing from reaching a conclusion.

Do you really think someone

Do you really think someone should be kicked off of a team and lose their scholarship for being named a person of interest? I wouldn't want our coaches handling it differently. Suspend them from team activities until the facts are worked out.

I really hope half the people

I really hope half the people in these threads are Ohio/MSU trolls trying to make Michgian fans look like half-wit butt hurt morons.

I can tell how many people

I can tell how many people here have never worked with youths from the communities that college football recruits often come from.

Carlos Hyde is the best

Carlos Hyde is the best player on Ohio's offense. Great size and speed and he hits the hole like a dump truck. He'd be a monster in a pro-style offense.

Ohio produces well over twice

Ohio produces well over twice as many D1 recruits as Michigan year in year out, and the state is recruited heavily by all the national players. The 2/3 star players that Cincinnatti can pull in aren't guys who wind up at Ohio State. We always have been and always will be the biggest threat to pluck top Ohio recruits.

Interesting stuff in there.

Interesting stuff in there. I'm sure everyone will feign outrage, but Gee didn't say anything that every sports writer and commentator has acknowledged as truth. The B1G isn't going to take schools of low academic standards, Maryland and Rutgers was a TV money grab, Ohio can't lock down Cinncinnatti, etc.

The only controversy is that everyone in the NCAA lives a lie that somehow college athletics are an amateur sport.

Gordon Gee for Governor of

Gordon Gee for Governor of Ohio.

Everybody kills people,

Everybody kills people, everybody steals, everybody has 22 drinks. You, me, everybody.

And as others have mentioned,

And as others have mentioned, LinkedIn has been the only social media platform I can say successfully helped my career. Facebook and Twitter are just too unprofessional by nature.

I'm an engineer and this

I'm an engineer and this question made me feel really old.

BACK IN MY DAY (10 years ago) college sponsored career fairs are where I had the best luck picking up internships and making connections with potential employers. I work in the engineering department of a very large utility company now, and can say that 95% of the interns we hire are interviewed at college career fairs, and most of them are offered full time positions once they graduate. So really use to the full extent possible the resources at school. You're paying them, after all, for it.

TIL that some people still

TIL that some people still think that modern university presidents are anything other than glorified sales people and fund raisers. Wealthy donors love sports as much as the rest of us.

I blame Al Borges. Should

I blame Al Borges. Should have ran it in.

He's wearing a single ply

He's wearing a single ply bench press shirt. I'm no gear expert but it looks like a Katana. Depending on how much you train in the gear, you can probably get 150-250 pounds out of one, especially if you are able to touch the bar below your sternum as he did.

It's impressive; no doubt, but the open age single ply bench press record for his weight class is north of 800. Only two people have ever bench pressed 700 pounds without a shirt in competition, Big James Henderson and Scot Mendelson. And Scot has done north of 1000 pounds with a shirt on.

Yes, all gay people are child

Yes, all gay people are child molesters.

The ABC story was horribly

The ABC story was horribly written (which I assume is why they redacted it), but let's get this straight: Of the three people involved, the one who is accused of committing sexual assault is no longer on their team, one is currently on the team but appears to only be listed on the warrant to have his cell phone confiscated for evidence at this time, and the third was a recruit who did not commit to Ohio.

There were a lot of rumors on

There were a lot of rumors on Ohio boards that Pittman was leaving due to some off the field troubles that hadn't fully surfaced yet. It's pretty easy to connect the dots back to him. Hopefully this isn't true.

I would not be surprised to

I would not be surprised to see them start shedding running backs. Hyde, Rod Smith, Brionte Dunn, Warren Ball, and Ezekiel Elliot are all 4/5 star guys now in a offense where the RB is splitting his carries with the QB and the hybrid "Percy Harvin" position. B1G rules probably mean we are unlikely candidates, though. Unless one of them has a family who can pay their way.

The player's unions are the

The player's unions are the real driving force behind limiting the scope and methods of testing.

The USADA has no oversight of

The USADA has no oversight of the NBA, NFL, MLB, or NHL. Those sports manage their drug policies and testing internally and can do as they please. They only monitor Olympic sports and international sports that contract with them for WADA approved testing (like cycling). .

After how much PED's have

After how much PED's have been in the news the past several years, it's still insane to me how little people understand about them. Lance Armstrong weighed 155 pounds and won 7 Tour De France's, so do you think he was clean or wasn't using them well? The effects of steroids are not limited to muscle hypertrophy. Things like insulin, GH, and hCG are not even steroids. 15 minutes on Wikipedia, people.

I imagine it was mostly them

I imagine it was mostly them talking about who loves Tressell more.

Jim Bollman was the most

Jim Bollman was the most wildly incompetent OC in the B1G. They suceeded because they recruited great athletes and Tressel called the plays. Bollman called their plays in 2011 and I can only hope the lulz extend to East Lansing.

Student athletes are

Student athletes are representing the university, given tens of thousands of dollars worth of  tuition, and exclusive use of millions of dollars worth of university facilities. Not to mention how much money is paid to all of the staff that is there merely to coach those student athletes. A $400 Ipad with clear educational use isn't where any reasonable person starts questioning the value and expense of student athletics. Shit, I had $400 books for engineering classes.

Michigan and Ohio State do

Michigan and Ohio State do the same. We went through this last year.

The only thing that fell off

The only thing that fell off was a latop from Cam Newton's window. Florida finished with the #2 ranked class the year he resigned and was never lower than #10 throughout his tenure.

Yes! Woe to the university

Yes! Woe to the university that had to suffer a 7-6 season after winning two national titles, a Heisman, and pulling away the heir apparent to the biggest brand in college football to be their next head coach who has them respositioned for a title run with a 11-2 record and is pulling down top recruiting classes. Urban is a shithead, but Florida fans are insufferable.

I believe he will finish out

I believe he will finish out his 7 year contract, but isn't a lifer. Even though the Midwest has less talent, Ohio State and Michigan are the only game in town for the forseeable future and he will always be able to pull the players he needs to run his offense.
