Chuck, you sound like you're…

Chuck, you sound like you're suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.

Precisely why I occasionally…

Precisely why I occasionally visit.

Exactly. Don't ever watch a…

Exactly. Don't ever watch a UFC fight, for sure. I saw Redskin’s quarterback Joe Theismann get his right tibia and fibula broken live on MNF in 1985. It looked like a toothpick snapped. They played it over and over and over. But I survived.

I’m still struggling with…

I’m still struggling with who/whom.

And WWII.

And WWII.

I don’t speak for OSU, but I…

I don’t speak for OSU, but I have to believe that the AD and coaches wanted to nip this COVID thing in the bud and cancel the Illinois game rather than risk The Greatest Rivalry in all of sports. Larry Johnson was set to be interim HC for the Illinois game when Day tested positive, before they decided to cancel. I’m still hoping The Game will be played.

Also, I’m praying/hoping all the Michigan players and coaches get or remain well from this horrid disease.

”If you choose not to decide…

”If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.”

I vaguely remember Bo’s…

I vaguely remember Bo’s recruiting classes back in the 1970s, and if my memory serves me, I remember he would draw players out of California, Texas and Florida, pretty regularly. I always wondered why the hell we couldn’t do that?

What “restraints” would you…

What “restraints” would you suggest? Ankle bracelets?

C’mon man, lighten up. I…

C’mon man, lighten up. I thought it was pretty funny myself.

No family members are…

No family members are allowed at the game this Saturday in Columbus. Not even cut-outs are allowed for this one.

If UM doesn’t go after Luke,…

If UM doesn’t go after Luke, some other blue blood school will. He’s not staying at UC. Best not to wait on this one for long.

Joe Brady didn't "invent"…

Joe Brady didn't "invent" Joe Burrow, just FYI. Burrow broke OHSAA records in high school and credits Corey Dennis and Mike Yurcich for much of his development.

If I were the UM AD, and I'm not, I would go after Fickell first, then Matt Campbell. I almost forgot about him. You want a guy that's going to be around a while. The young pups are hungry and would jump at the opportunity.

I could be wrong, but I don't see lateral moves(I know I'm going to take heat for that) like PJ or Fitzgerald as a possibility. Interesting list, though.

Is that your theory, or do…

Is that your theory, or do you have facts to back it up, like Urban’s medical records?

It matters not. You completely missed my whole point. Good luck, anyway.

Urban isn’t coaching again,…

Urban isn’t coaching again, IMHO. I’d bet my infinitesimal monthly salary on it. So forget that one. Why should he? He’s a successful restaurant owner(even though this is not a good time to be one.), has real, serious health issues and he’s making $ on Fox Sports and the B1G Network. That’s much less stress than HC. And the Meyer’s don’t want to move again, from what I understand. They’ve been all over the country.

My advice is to go hard after Luke Fickell. He’d coach UM for the right price and he scares the hell out of me as a Buckeye fan. He has Cincinnati ranked #8, I think? Schembechler wasn’t a “Michigan Man” initially either. And if UM could lure him away from the Bearcats, he’d be around for a long time. He’s relatively young and he’s not Gary Moeller.

Just my 2 cents and hoping for the “good ‘ol days” when the #1 rivalry in all of sports was a thing.

You stop acting high and…

You stop acting high and mighty and put cash in a bag like everyone else who brings in top recruiting classes year after year.

Surely(not Shirley) you're being facetious.  If you have proof to back up your claims, I'll listen.

Coaching matters. Recruiting matters. Training matters. OSU has the best strength and conditioning coach in the country, by far(Mickey Marotti).  If Urban would come out of retirement(again) to coach UM, I have no doubt he would turn the program around in two, three years max. The talent level is not that far off, IMO.

Thank you, B-Nut-GoBlue. I…

Thank you, B-Nut-GoBlue. I think civility on both sides and in society in general is horrible.

I understand your…

I understand your frustration, Western_. I lived through the 1990s and it sucked, bad. I just wish we could be more civil on both sides. Dobbins isn't the only non-Ohioan on the roster, for the record.

Tyson got his ass beat by a…

Tyson got his ass beat by a man from Columbus, ironically, named Buster Douglas, in Tokyo, Japan, February 11, 1990. But you knew that.

Anyway, I'm hoping you all had a great Thanksgiving and black Friday. I'm also hoping for a not-sloppy, rain-soaked game(the great equalizer, see OSU vs. PSU) filled with turnovers.

And may truly the best team win. Peace.

"I can make fun of my family…

"I can make fun of my family but you can't"

My ex-wife ripped on her parents for years, especially her abusive father. Then one day I got drunk and ripped on them myself for the first time(seriously)and she asked me for a divorce. I shit you not.

Women.

Didn't Juwan just land a 5*…

Didn't Juwan just land a 5* recruit from North Carolina, I thought I heard? That's pretty amazing, if true.

I'm a Buckeye, obviously,…

I'm a Buckeye, obviously, but I find yours to be an incredibly defeatist attitude, JFW. It happened with us too. We had a good coach(Earl Bruce) that had a winning record(5-4) against his rival, but his nickname became "'ol 9 and 3."

So they fired him and we got Cooper. You know the rest of that story. But it eventually worked out for us. And I agree with others in here that say "for the amount of $ Harbaugh gets paid, we should see better results." You should. I think people that make the argument that "UM can easily afford Harbaugh's salary," is irrelevant.

Coaching matters. Look at PJ at Minnesota, as an example. Sometimes it's just a matter of luck and timing. Also, some coaches just have that "it" factor that makes kids want to play for them and give their heart for them. Urban Meyer was one such guy. As was Bo and Woody. I don't know who your AD is now, but with the next hire he had better get it right.

For what it's worth, I…

For what it's worth, I thought that was a very entertaining game to watch.  I give a lot of credit to the Wolverines for not quitting and fighting back in the second half. I'm not sure who said, "there are no moral victories," but PSU is probably the toughest place in the country to play, IMHO. Too many dropped passes, though. I seem to remember Peoples-Jones dropping at least one critical pass, among others. I thought a couple calls were missed by the refs as well.

Maybe that's the problem?…

Maybe that's the problem? Harbaugh is recruiting "Jimmy's and Joe's," and Urban Meyer is recruiting "Demonte's, Braxton's, Hakeem's and Dwayne's."

I hate to add insult to injury, but feel compelled to add: OSU was also playing without possibly the #1 NFL draft pick, Nick Bosa.

That's funny, I don't care…

Double post. damnit.

That's funny, I don't care…

That's funny, I don't care who(m) you are.

An employer needs a reason…

An employer needs a reason to fire an employee.  They can't go off half-cocked, firing every employee that's in a dysfunctional marriage.

I understand why you would…

I understand why you would feel that way.

1990s

This kid wasn't alive in 2000. He knows nothing of the 1990s. Still no excuse to make such an ignorant comment.

SMH @ Jeremy Ruckert

Buckeye fan here.

This was a stupid fooking comment by a 17 year old kid that didn't live through the 1990s. I'm quite certain he's going to get a stern talking to(at minimum) as soon as he arrives on campus, if not sooner. This is almost as bad as the Cardale Jones comment, "We ain't come to play skoo!", IMHO.

Peace.

Why did you guys get rid of Shane Morris? Wasn't he a 5* recruit? From what I've heard, he's doing pretty well at Central. Sorry for the double post.

Ummm...

Signing day isn't until February. But I get your point.

OK

That's what she said....

I think it's interesting

that you left out Braxton Miller.

As a Buckeye fan

I would LOVE an eight team playoff. Then a team like undefeated Western(where my nephew just graduated from) could get a shot.

Results?

Frankly, I think Zone 6 has sucked baboon booty this year. And that's all on Zach Smith.  He's a better Tweeter than a WR coach.

Interesting

Now you're sounding like a Sparty fan.

Why do we come here?

We come here to enjoy the awesome posts like the one you just delivered.

Welp

"B"urrow.

tips for everyone

Should I tip the official from Michigan that slapped Mike Webber's buttocks before the game, as well?

Lesson

I think the lesson here is if you're going to lose, lose early, not late in the season.

Welp

Are you quoting Jack Byrnes from the movie "Meet the Fockers?"

That's funny!

you might be right, Spider. I think even the one referee from Michigan was digging the vibe in Ohio Stadium.

Kewl dude

Logged in just to say I dig your screen name. LOL.

Curtis Grant

His name was Curtis Grant. And you're right. He did turn out to be very average, given all the hype coming in.

Recruiting is more of a gamble than a science. Look how many of these kids have "commitment ceremonies," and then a few months later have another televised "decommitment ceremony."

I quit following recruiting. I have enough stress at work.

scandal

Wrong season, Unfiltered. Those are our summertime phenomenons. ;)

oxymoron

In ColelsCorky's defense, he didn't end with an exclamation mark.

a bust

I do agree that the QB postion is of critical importance, I just don't agree that OSU would have been a "bust" without JT Barrett.

Saban @ OSU

Just so you know: Saban is 65 years old. Urban Meyer is 52. It is therefore highly unlikely Saban would come to OSU after UFM retires. We wouldn't want him anyway.
