I watched the game. Shane needed help to stand, from his lineman. He was staggering as a UFC fighter does after getting his head pounded into the mat for three rounds. I don't think an MRI is necessary.
|1 year 51 weeks ago||I am angry as hell at the officials!||
I'm a Buckeye fan but I never like to see players get injured, for ANY team. I felt really bad for Shane and if I was his dad, I'd be making a lot of noise to the B1G and NCAA. The offficials completely shit the bed on that one.
Bradley Roby was ejected from a game last year for a similar hit(actually, I don't think Roby's hit on the receiver was that bad. He got more of the receiver's shoulder than helmet). If Shane didn't have a concussion, I would be absolutely shocked. That hit was vicious, malicious, and the Minnesota player should have been ejected. How more obvious can it be? A decapitation?

True dat. 2014 is going to be a rebuilding(or reloading) year for the Buckeyes. Even if xBrax stays, I think there are going to be a lot growing pains. The OSU defense should be better, but that ain't sayin' much. Many on 11W argued that next year was suppose to be "the year" for the Buckeyes. I didn't see it then, and I don't see it now. We better do it now. El Guapo(Hyde) and Kenny G, as well as all but one of the O-line are going to be damn tough to replace. I wouldn't be surpised if OSU drops at least two or three next year.
As far as The Game goes: I must have dropped the F-bomb 100X. I think my neighbor's must have thought I was abusing my dog or ex-wife. UM played a damn good game, and it was a classic. I remember OSU dropping games like these back in the 1990s. It sucks.
I said to some of my Michigan fan co-workers on Monday: if UM had played like that all year, they would only have one loss. Unreal. Consistancy seems to be the biggest problem for yous guys. And execution. ;)
|2 years 42 weeks ago||No.||
Not this week, brah. This is serious.
|2 years 42 weeks ago||I've heard that argument before tybert||
and while it is true that OSU doesn't have an in state rival, the State of Ohio supplies the B1G and MAC with most of it's football players. Everybody is on an equal footing in the B1G, IMHO. Brady has had success with recruiting. Much better than RichRod. He has to be able to coach them up, though.
I am a 11W regular, and I have to tell you, the _ichigan hate is real. But I also will tell you that many Ohio State fans, while they loathe anything to do with _ichigan, also would like to see the team improve. They argue that its not a rivalry when one team dominates, like _ichigan did in the 1990s(ugh!). Just thought I would pass that along.
ESPN Gameday is down in Alabama Saturday morning. Punks. It's prolly too cold for Chris, Lee, Kirk and Desond.
|2 years 42 weeks ago||Maybe you guys||
have just gotten soft? Players,coaches and fans. Why would you be OK with mediocrity? I think what bothers most of you Michigan fans, I could be wrong, is that after Tatgate most people expected OSU to be down for at least a decade, maybe even a generation. We were down one year.
Coaching matters. Good coaches make a difference. Although I think Brady has more class than RichRod, I also think he has too many barbeques.
|2 years 43 weeks ago||It's funny you should mention that, AA lover,||
because Ohio State did this once early in the pre-conference schedule, I assume to get in game practice at it, against either FAMU or Buffalo. They did convert. I wouldn't be surprised to see him do it again.
|2 years 44 weeks ago||Menu items instead of player names...||
Hoke approves of this message. He's thinkin' Arby's.
|2 years 45 weeks ago||Man. I wish that||
it was only a dream, nappa. To me, the 1990s were a nightmare. Although I have since forgiven J. Cooper. I think the man is a good dude. Although unfortunately, that is not what you want in a coach. You want a bad-ass mother f#^*er. Like Saban or Urban Meyer. Or Pete Carroll. Or....Les Miles? Scratch that. Nice guys finish last, most times it seems.
|2 years 45 weeks ago||In the past, I would have agreed with you, but||
one day on my way home from work, I decided to grab one of those $8 "ready to eat" deep dish pepperoni pizzas from Little Caesar's, just for shitz and giggles. I have to tell you, I thought it was pretty damn good for 8 dolla.
|2 years 45 weeks ago||"Washes over me like a bad fart"?||
As opposed to being washed over like a "good fart?"
|2 years 45 weeks ago||OSU did lose players||
All of the Tatgate players left early for the NFL but one. And we lost Kyle Kalis to you know who.
|2 years 45 weeks ago||I hate to add insult to injury, but...||
Michigan was fortunate to beat Akron and UConn, also. I think Hoke is a much classier dude than RichRod ever was, but I haven't heard Hoke sing Josh Groban. Yet.
|4 years 35 weeks ago||Urban||
Would just like to add how it is going to get more interesting than it has been for a long time with this OSU/UM battle. A strong OSU/UM makes the whole conference better, IMHO.
|4 years 35 weeks ago||Hiring Meyer was a no||
Hiring Meyer was a no brainer. After having screwed up the handling of Tatgate, Gene Smith and especially Gee have been praised by some for hiring Meyer. Go figure.
Would have liked to see Toledo product Chris Wormley go to OSU, who was being recruited hard by OSU. But Wormley grew up liking the UM helmets, so what you going to do? But I think OSU did get some decent DEs to fill Wormley's spot in Noah Spence(5*) and Adolphus W

Do you honestly think the NCAA is worried about the media hysteria? Actually, I think the NCAA might actually feel sorry for Ohio State and the unfair maligning it has received in the media. How much have we heard about Georgia Tech's violations? How about Auburn's? And a middle man is threatening to bust wide open the money to Cecil Newton scandal. That would mean vacating the NC and surrendering Cam's Heisman. LSU just got nailed for recruiting violations. And yet, nary a freakin' word in the media about those schools. In Buckeye Nation, we're going to be celebrating tonight with http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1475/13096Buckeye Beer! Cheers!
|5 years 9 weeks ago||I tried to warn yous guys, but you wouldn't listen.||
The punishment must fit the crime, NOT the innuendo and rumors and lies.
|5 years 11 weeks ago||Just thought you guys would like to peruse this article...||
It might shed some light.
|5 years 11 weeks ago||What are yous guys going to do if...||
the NCAA comes back and says, "you know what? We think you guys(Ohio State) are being to hard on yourselves, and we're going to demand that you REDUCE your self imposed penalties!"
What are you going to do then, huh? Huh?!
|5 years 11 weeks ago||You have no idea of the facts of the case||
You're just all emotional, Gary. The NCAA is going to give their penalties based on facts, not emotion. You will be disappointed.
|5 years 11 weeks ago||Uh, yes.||
That is all.
|5 years 11 weeks ago||Don't worry my blueblueblue friend...||
Ohio State is going to continue to give yous guys all you can handle. Sweatervest or no sweatervest. I would not assume that "the tide has turned" just yet, if I were a Wolverine fan.
|5 years 11 weeks ago||Explain why, neoavatara.||
"OSU should have at least suggested a few schollies lost."
Why, neoavatara? OSU committed no recruiting violations. A coach lied, nobody died. Vacate wins because of ineligible players: I'm OK with that. But I would be very, very surprised if OSU gets any schollie reductions.
|5 years 11 weeks ago||USC should sue? LOL. R U serious?||
Why IPFW? USC paid players and family members, tens of thousands of $, and did not cooperate with NCAA investigators.
At OSU, the coach(now gone) lied about a few players selling their own personal property for tattoos. One of the players involved is also now gone(a player that Rich Rod would have got on his knees and begged to go to UM, if it would have helped. Maybe he did?), and the others involved have been suspended.
They have nothing, NOTHING on the cars crap, and nothing on the "free round of golf" crap. And the player in question in that issue is gone also.
There WILL be weeping and gnashing of the teeth when the NCAA gives their final ruling, but I'm willing to bet it ain't going to be coming from Ohio State.
|5 years 11 weeks ago||Heeeeeeeey!!!!!!!!||
|5 years 11 weeks ago||Toledo Rockets over Michelin||
My son was given a free ticket to go to the Rockets/Wolverines game in A^2. He is a lifelong OSU and Rockets fan, and was making quite a bit of noise for the Rockets. I'm surprised he didn't get the shat kicked out of him, honestly.
And for the record, Toledo has a winning record vs. the Big Ten. With wins over PSU, UM, Purdon't, and IU, Minnehaha.
|5 years 11 weeks ago||Get used to it, EJG||
The "tats": the players involved have already been punished for receiving tattoos. One of them is gone.
The cars: there is nothing there. It has been investigated, and dismissed. But, there will be closer monitoring of player's cars. But, as the university said, "we are not going to hire a P.I. to follow them everywhere they go."
The cash: The cash? WTF are you talking about? The only cash involved is around a thousand $ or two that they received from selling there jewelry.
This is nowhere on the level of USC. I believe you Michigan fans are going to be more disappointed with the NCAA ruling than OSU fans.
Desperation. That is what I see and hear on Mgoblog.
I'm done trolling now. Just wanted to get a little chuckle out of yous guys.
|5 years 11 weeks ago||Never thought of that, wile_e8! You're a genius! Shear genius!||
How long did it take you to think that up, Mr. Smarty Pants Coyote?
|5 years 11 weeks ago||You're funny HALE NO||
Priceless. Absolutely priceless.
|5 years 11 weeks ago||OMG. Desperation is so unattractive||
You guys are so desperate(I get it. 10 years of frustration will do that to a person. I remember the 90s, believe me). If this is an indication of the whining that is going to take place north of the border, after the sanctions are announced, I have a feeling this is going to be a boon for all of the psychiatrists in Michigan.
