It was always gonna be a noon game. We were supposed to be in Austin but since Texas wanted to leave for the SEC in 2024, Fox didn’t want to lose such marquee game to espn. So they made it work by playing In Ann Arbor this year so Fox can keep it and play in Austin for the return game later so ESPN can still have a game. Fox always had this game which meant it was slated for big noon the second that deal was made for Texas to be able to leave early for the SEC.
I wish the numbers (along with names on the back) stayed silver on the home uniform but with the new font. Could’ve done without the “DETROIT” on the away whites. Like San Diego Mick said above, I hope they don’t wear black often; it gives too many mid aughts Lions vibes. I also liked the silver on the face mask. Overall it went better than most uniform redesigns usually go so I’ll just get used to it.
Northwestern sent an email to season ticket holders that said “we will likely host all non-conference games plus at least one conference game at the temporary facility.” Think the thought is playing these games early while the weather is nice and then using other Chicagoland venues when the weather would have quite an impact on a field right next to the lake. Plus they'd want to cash in on the number of tix they could sell when Michigan, OSU, Wisconsin, PSU, etc comes into town. Michigan will very likely not play at this temporary facility.
Our 1-6 record in national title games is so frustrating as you win just 2 of those and the programs stature is so different. Should’ve won in 2013: the block was clean but keeping Burke on the bench for the entirety of the last 12 minutes of the 1st half due to Beilein’s autobench after 2 fouls was a mistake as once Albrecht’s hot hand cooled (9 of his 17 points came while Burke was still on the floor) we let a 12 point lead dwindle to 1 point. Should’ve brought Burke back in the final few minutes of the half and trust your best player (who hardly fouled) to play without fouling. 1993 being the other one we should’ve won. 2018 and 1992 we just lost to the better team. 1965 & 1976 I have no context on.

Projecting any other player as an early or mid 1st rounder isn’t taking the maize & blue glasses off. They’ll need incredible seasons this year to make their way in.
Uhh yes, he’d be an upgrade from Mike Hart in that regard who for as good as he was coaching on field, Jordan Marshall was the only national blue chip recruitment that he won. Alford was at the helm while OSU brought in Mike Weber, JK Dobbins, Trevyon Henderson, and most recently James Peoples in this last cycle. Also found under scouted gems like Master Teague & Miyan Williams.

Biercamp has some excellent pulled pork & brisket sandwiches, brats, smoked sausage, along with my favorite thing on the menu: the “backwoods tots” which are tater tots topped with the aforementioned pork or brisket as well as onion, sweet jalapeño mustard, pickles, and coleslaw. They’ve got some of their own beers on tap which are solid.
A player who isn’t getting drafted after 4 or 5 seasons likely won’t be getting drafted after returning for a 5th or 6th year either. Some guys just want to start the next stage of their lives and get their non football careers started.
I think there’s some maize and blue blinders on. He definitely struggled to read zone defenses during his time here and Kurt in this video even finds man defenses against which JJ doesn’t read fast enough or hesitates with the ball or has issues with technique (I think because we won the natty and went undefeated we forget about some of his throws he airmailed or threw behind receivers during the dogfight stretches of the OSU, Bama, and Washington games to wide open receivers that you just can’t miss in the NFL). He would be best served by sitting for at least a year or two behind a veteran QB
As much as I love JJ, this would be a fireable offense for Brad Holmes. They’ve got a window right now and so many needs on defense that they have to go CB or DL in the 1st round over a developmental QB.

Only about 3.5-4k of each incoming freshman class are from the state of MI (I’ve got a lot of thoughts on the declining % of in state students when schools of similar stature in similar sized states like UVA & UNC show it’s possible to have 66% & 80% of their undergrad in state without any tangible effect on their prestige and leads to a much more diverse student body than U-M). That means of the remaining 90k graduating high school seniors each year, 9k of them attend MSU. It’s very important to the future of the state that MSU is run well and continues to grow in academic stature (it’s come a LONG way from how it was viewed nationally from the 60s-90s whether U-M fans want to admit it or not),

Cade was still a better QB for the 2021 team. Took what the defense gave him, got us into the right play pre snap, and barely took sacks or turn the ball over which meant we were always on schedule and hardly behind the sticks. I wouldn’t have trusted Shea to do the same.
I’m not sure how I feel exactly about Bellamy as a WR coach, both as a recruiter and on field coach. Say what you want about Gattis as a OC or play caller, but he really knew how to recruit WRs and coach them. All of the WRs that were big parts of our run the last 3 years were recruited by Gattis and now we’ve got a pretty unproven & inexperienced WR room (even Tyler Morris was recruited by Gattis). There were times the last two seasons where our WRs struggled to get separation against non marquee opponents (since we save our big RPS plays for the 3-4 big games each season and just run vanilla stuff against everyone else). This recruiting cycle will be enormous for Bellamy at the WR spot and we’ll see how the WR room progresses on the field.
I think he just was broken from the two seasons at Ole Miss where he was running for his life behind an atrocious OL. If his 1st read wasn’t open as he hit his back foot in his dropback, he’d immediately bail from a clean pocket, sometimes running himself into pressure or sacks. He was incapable of trusting his OL in order to step up and climb the pocket.
Except it’s not a fixed number in perpetuity in the UCL. It changes based on the relative strength of each league based on the prior 5 seasons of performance. This proposal for a guaranteed 4 teams for the B1G & SEC each season for perpetuity regardless of performance is insanity.
Taco shouldn’t have been taken in the first round. Cowboys fans were rightfully pissed about the reach. I wonder if he could’ve had a decent career if he was taken in later rounds so he didn’t have the weight and expectations that come with being a first rounder for the Cowboys.

Usually it’s two on defense and two on offense. And generally seniors. I’d go Moore + Paige and then Edwards + either Mullings or a senior OL.
