I think Smith is going to be one of the kids that I'm going to follow through out his career. Whether he's a Wolverine or not. These are some of the near misses like Sammy Watkins or Joshua Garnett. Or the guys I grew to admire like DJ Foster. I like how Smith has handled this and not rushed through this process. In the end, I hope the kid goes Blue like everyone else, but I'll follow his college career.

Is the number of prediction threads we have per week predictive of how good our season is going to go?
|3 weeks 11 hours ago||What can I say Iowa? Jim||
What can I say Iowa? Jim Harbaugh plays his piccolo and the recruits come in droves. Harbaugh can use its powers on recruits, but he can't control the collateral damage. Enjoy your four offensive linemen cuz that's exactly the position I'd imagine Iowa's top four recruits would be playing.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||This.||
USC has struggled (though not this recruiting class) due to the Bush scholarship reductions and general turnover with the coaching change. It looks like USC may start to get back on its feet and that will relegate UCLA back to second tier status. UCLA is basically MSU with better academics in comparison to USC.

Alright, I better get to work before 8 am, I guess.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Wheatley?||
I wonder how much of that movement is coming from Wheatley, Harbaugh, and company. They've obviously made some strong connections already, especially at Cass Tech, that are going to pay off with future classes.

Stopped by trillium earlier. Had a melcher and an elevated ipa from La Cumbre. Feeling pretty fine.

If you haven't watched the Harbaugh QB Clinic video, watch it. You'll get a great understanding of him as a coach and what he expects and what he looks for in a QB. It's close to 90 minutes long but you can watch bits of it at a time. I'd recommend it to any Michigan fan or fan that wants to learn the game more. Google or YouTube it. It'll come up immediately.
|7 weeks 1 day ago||Wheatley would be a big hire||
Yes, you can talk about how he played at Michigan and in the pros. Was great at M and solid in the pros, but I think the fact that he's from Detroit is a big deal.
|7 weeks 2 days ago||Third Biggest||
I think Gerrard has the least to offer of the three at the time of his transfer. His ability to move was a big part of his game and he doesn't have the legs anymore.

The pizza and chips sound like an impermissible benefit. The NCAA would be all over us for that if we got him. No thanks.

I've heard similar things about Roman (my co-worker is a Niners fan). I will reserve judgment on Drev as an OC but it seems like he's a hell of a OL coach. We need one of those. Happy to have him.
|8 weeks 2 days ago||I'll predict the Patriots||
I'll predict the Patriots winning the Super Bowl like a brash Boston fan, but there are some serious road blocks:
Denver - I don't think Denver is that much of a threat. I'm not sure Peyton Manning can keep up with Brady this time. However, the Broncos are too talented a team to count off.
Pittsburgh - This is the scariest team in the AFC for me. They're playing well. They're a physical team and while the Patriots are not a soft team, Pittsburgh is one of the toughest teams to play. This is an opponent that the Patriots could struggle with. I hate the Steelers.
Green Bay - Aaron Rodgers is basically the perfect quarterback in this day and age. Sorry, Lions fans. I said it. His accuracy was lethal in the first game and the game plan to target the non-Revis/Browner DB was genius. It would be interesting to see how Belichick makes changes to prevent this from being a problem in a potential rematch. Rodgers ability to get out of the pocket and avoid pressure was also a problem that was less talked about. Furthermore, I thought Josh McDaniels had a horrible game (sidenote: his awful playcalling is why I won't miss him if he gets a head coaching job). Green Bay doesn't have a good run defense and the Patriots went away from it way too fast. I think that hurt the defense too because all of the three and outs kept Belichick from making adjustments. Oh, and no home cooking this time. The officiating, especially early on, was pretty freaking terrible at Lambeau.
Seattle - Seattle poses the most match up problems. Quarterback that is mobile, power running game, awesome defense. This is a game where a guy like Tim Wright would have to have a huge impact. I personally think Seattle will be the toughest out in the playoffs. They're just playing some crazy good ball right now.
I'd love for a Dallas-New England Super Bowl, just to see everyone unhappy though. Full disclosure, I like this Dallas team. They're likable beyond their terrible owner. I'm not even joking.
|8 weeks 3 days ago||Dude...||
Luck was a four star out of high school too. Luck was also the best pro-style college quarterback since Peyton Manning. Those guys only come around every 15 years or so. I guess what I'm saying is that they are super rare and that Luck was developed and not a can't miss prospect.
I'll take an Andrew Luck though...
|8 weeks 4 days ago||Considering we have Green,||
Considering we have Green, Smith, and Isaac, I would concur. It's nice to have and something you always want because they're great athletes (see: Peppers, Woodson, etc), but there are plenty of positions I'd like to see them address, namely at WR (Cole will be a player) and DE. We need some playmakers.
