the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

| 24 weeks 1 day ago | I was surprised by the post, |
I was surprised by the post, too, thinking of that many "FR"s attached to the linemen, as you say. I don't think RS Fr as "depth." When we get to 2014 and 2015 and we have 18 OL and half of them are upper classmen, THEN we can start talking about not having to worry about depth. |
| 24 weeks 1 day ago | Gardner is good on his feet, |
Gardner is good on his feet, but look at the number of sacks in the three games leading up to OSU against rather mediocre teams... Now take away a lot of experience and we're looking at a difficult year for Gardner and RBs next year. |
| 28 weeks 6 days ago | I cannot believe all this |
I cannot believe all this gloom and doom. Does anyone remember Denard's first outings as a replacement thrust into big games? Remember when he came in for Forcier in the Iowa game? Remember the (does this sounds familiar) interceptions and horribly missing receivers? Remember everyone saying we were doomed with Forcier, that Denard would never be a quarterback, and that he should switch to wide receiver? Granted Bellomy is not going to be the athlete or explosive runner Denard is, but give him a chance...

| 37 weeks 16 hours ago | Except the Alabama back ups |
Except the Alabama back ups played a huge number of minutes because the defense limited their opponents and the offense put them ahead by such wide margins early. They are VERY deep at almost every position, in experience as well as players. Just because the kids this year weren't starters doesn't mean they aren't experienced. |
| 39 weeks 18 hours ago | Classy PSU Kids and Great Crowd |
That year I had "roving" season tickets, with tickets to all the games except Minnesota for Homecoming but always in different seats. We had four kids from PSU sitting right in front of my son and me and they were really good sports. Not sure if my recollection is completely correct, but I thought when PSU went ahead on their TD at the end of the game they had been trailing most, if not all, of the game to that point. Even though they had sat there the entire game and listened to us cheering, they didn't go overboard in celebrating or trash talk anyone. Then, when UM won, they shook a lot of hands and congratulated a lot of UM fans on a great win as they tried to make their way out. Good kids. It was also the first time I went to a game and the stadium stayed full for so long after the game was over. I think the next time I experienced something like that was the ND game under the lights last year. That was a terrific game - would love to see it on BTN again. |

I'd think it would be above allowed practice time and have to be deducted double from future practice time. That seems to be the standard based on all the NCAA malarkey. |

| 2 years 24 weeks ago | If the team is 9-3 next year, |
If the team is 9-3 next year, that means a minimum 5-3 record in the Big Ten. That would mean another win over ND, and a win over at least one of MSU, Iowa, Nebraska, or OSU. Personally, after the way the defense played today and how the offense was almost there against a Top 5 in the nation defense, I'm thinking 10-2 next year, beating 2 of those 4 teams. 2011 - Junior (Denard + Offense) + sophomore Defense = Contend for Big Ten, maybe BCS 2012 - Senior (Denard + Offense) + junior Defense = BCS, maybe MNC game |

| 2 years 26 weeks ago | Lewan is going to be SOOO |
Lewan is going to be SOOO good the next three years, as demonstrated by his performances far beyond his years against both Kerrigan and Clayborn. They both got their shots, but Lewan had his moments with each of them. Lewan is that guy you hate on other teams and love on your own. Gotta get a 77 jersey. |

| 2 years 26 weeks ago | I am hoping the Big Ten |
I am hoping the Big Ten does not get the second BCS bid. It seems every time that has happened in the past the Big Ten does not do as well - everyone moves up one bowl to tougher overall competition. I'd rather see the league do well nationally. |
| 2 years 27 weeks ago | I beg to differ - it |
I beg to differ - it ABSOLUTELY is by design. How many times has RR said he wants to be able to win with all the QBs (down to Gardner)? And how many times has he said they want competition at every position? RR wants 2 deep at every position because any player out there can get hurt at any time. The program will not be where RR wants it to be until the point in time when a player goes down to an injury and it never has to be asked, "Now what do we do?" One of many reasons why RR is an excellent coach. |
| 2 years 27 weeks ago | Can I get an Amen!?!?!? I |
Can I get an Amen!?!?!? I have been yelling at the TV that we need 4 linemen since the ND game. Even though it was brutal at times, there was a lot to enjoy in this game. When this D grows up, we are going to have us some FUN Saturdays. |
| 2 years 27 weeks ago | Makes you wonder where we |
Makes you wonder where we would be if Vinopal & Demens had been in some earlier games. Giving the coaches the benefit fo the doubt, they probably needed the time until now to get to where they needed to be. That, or RR is starting to get more involved on defense. Based on him hollering at Greg Robinson a few weeks ago when he pulled Demens for Ezeh, last week when he got into the defensive huddle, and the recent shuffling of players from O to D, I'm leaning toward the theory RR is getting involved with the D. He was a linebacker in college, right? |

| 2 years 28 weeks ago | The funny thing is, if RR was |
The funny thing is, if RR was dropped now and another spread offense coach came in, along with a new DC, I'm guessing they would have very much the same results - a .500-esque 2011 and 9 wins in 2012. With RR's recruits and team. |
| 2 years 28 weeks ago | We don't need a program |
We don't need a program overhaul - we need a defense overhaul. |
| 2 years 28 weeks ago | a boss only starts to mingle |
I thought the shot during the game of RR getting into the defensive huddle like Greg Robinson was not even there is very telling. So is the fact that after the Iowa game, RR said he was going to get involved with the D more, and all of a sudden there are a bunch of changes are made. There also were a LOT of freshmen playing - I saw a glimpse of Christian, Jibreel Black looked GOOD on the end, Vinopal, Carvin Johnson, etc. The only criticism I have of RR is maybe too much trust in Greg Robinson. I believe RR's expectation was that the defense could be managed by someone with the experience he hired. I have a hard time faulting Greg Robinson for the play of the freshmen, but they just have not seemed to improve. Unfortunately for Robinson, assuming he is gone this year, someone else is going to come in with a LOT more experience. Still, it'd be nice to see someone that could coach that experience up to at least an average defense. I was hoping for that from Greg Robinson, but he just isn't showing it. |
