I think staying would enable him to improve his stock.  Work more on his handle, be the primary scorer next year, get stronger.  I think he gets better and has better stats if he stays.  I don't see how his stock goes down if he stays next year but could see it going up.

I have not see enough our of GRIII to think he will be a great NBA player, too many holes in his game right now.  McGary is the most NBA ready from an athletic standpoint but I think he really needs at least another year to work on skills.

I worked in Southfield for years and Shields was more convienent than the Buddy's in Farmington Hills.  I like Cottage Inn but Shields is better.  I've never tried Jets as their crappy commercials made me think they sucked.

I disagree, both Canhan and Martin were self made entrepreneurial millionaires.  Brandon has risen up the corporate ranks and has done extremely well.  I'll take a successful entrepreneur over a corporate manager many times

I think he has done a decent job.  I don't mind the money grab, but sometimes he seems like a sanctimonious prick.  He makes lots of decisions with little input from the football stakeholders (from my perspective).  Crappy scheduling, move of the home game to Dallas, odd uniforms, screaming promotional efforts are on the downside.  Reworking facilites, hires have been good.

I would give him B so far.

2010 - My son was deferred => then waitlisted => then rejected.  He transferred into Michigan LS&A after 1 year at another school.  He was a 3.6 and 31 ACT.

2012 - My daughter was just deferred with 3.75 and 29 ACT and had applied to COE.  She is not happy either

My wife and I are Alumni as was my father.  As noted above her brother is a current student.  I got a note from the Ross bschool asking for money today, not good timing.

Michigan was very good and got dominated by Oklahoma.  There were 2-3 Selmon brothers on Oklahoma's D that went on to play in the NFL.  The score did not indicate how a very good Michigan team was manhandled Oklahoma's D.

I leave near there but have not been on the Huron river.  It's the same river that run through A2.  If you do anything afterwards check out Milford and it has some good restaurants and bars.  Wixom not so much.  River is very slow moving and has some good wildlife.

Ok, who is going to break out the Jo-el Thompson stories?  I remeber him playing pinbal in the Union.  If he was playing ther was no room to play the machine behind him because he needed all the space for his arms and legs.  As I remeber he work a big elbow pad when playing.

They don't seem to generate that much traffic around the Detroit burbs and the one in Commerce has a nearby roundabout that works well.  You might also get a place with cheap gas along your commute and your fellow employees will love the jumbo muffins (or slice of pizza).  Cheap lunch may be had at Costco if you don't care about your surroundings.

Baseball is much different, you don't really have to pay attention and getting up to walk around is part of the culture.  

Started bringing my son to M football games at around 8 and that was a good age for him.  I actually want to watch the game so I waited until he coul make it through at least halftime.  Went to basketball games earlier (less investment and missing a chunk of the game was less of an issue).

Used punch cards for a Cobol program in a bschool Computer class.  It was extremely frustrating.  Had professor Severance.  He was a great lecturer but much of what he tested was worthless facts and figures.  "How much information is stored on one inch of 3250 tape?"  The exact opposite of CK Prahalad who taught you all about how to approach a problem and not the answer.

The first Cobol program we had to write was on punch cards and we them moved to a terminal.  Pre PC days by a couple of years.  After 30 years in the high tech industry I can confidently say nothing I learned in my bschool computer class was ever applied in the real world.

Three missed field against OSU in the last minutes of the 1973 and 1974 were the worst.

I was at the Iowa, Syracuse, Oregon, the horror and many others but these two were the worst.

Do you see more demand?  I see many many empty seats at games.  No problem with supply and demand but I don't see the demand, yet.

My Dad had 4 near center court tickets about row 8 or 10 (the last row of the temporary seats) since Crisler opened in 1969.  Several years ago they reconfigured seats to bring students to the sidelines and he lost those seats because he did not pay the required fee.  They did allow him to keep 2 seats nearby without a fee as I remember and got 2 got moved into the upper bowl about 1/2 way up on the sidelines.

They have touble selling tickets to many of the games today so hopefully Brandon will tread lightly.  I do see guys like Al Glick (the guy who donated for the football practice facility) on the sidelines that will pay whatever is needed but don't think there are a ton of wealthy die hard M BB fans.  The diehard BB fans I see are old and remember the glory years of the 70's and 80's so I'm not sure how this will play out.

I don't have season tickets because the driver from suburbia is a pain in the add during the week in the Winter so I just buy on the secondary market for peanuts for the cheap games.  They have to market the hell out of the games to even sell them out, not sure how successful PSD's will be.

I thought there were a few calls that were ballsy and unconventional.  The one where Denard threw an interception near Gallon on the sideline.  The conservative play would have been to push for field goal position as they were only down 3 at the time.  As you mentioned earlier the defense was balls to the wall on many ocassions.

Desmond Morgan tipped his blitz every time and ND changed the call to run in the middle that was vacated.  I don't know crap about football and that was obvious.  I could see it occuring once or twice but it happened several times.  I think Brian has good insight and I guess we will see how much better we get at running this defense.  I do prefer it to the old Michigan bend but don't break defensive philosophy.  But then again I prefer the spread.

Another option with less traffic would be Pontiac trail to Milford Rd or Kensington Rd to I96.  It would take you a bit out of the way and is not a highway but traffic out of town on Pontiac trail is light.

Ufer was unique and an extreme homer.  I like listening to his highlights but was not a huge fan of his broadcasts.  Did you used to listen to his broadcasts live?  Great Michigan proponent but not for everyone.  I prefer Beckman.

It's all about winning.  If this situation has taught you anything all the people in Cbus care about is winning.  If he is available and give them the best chance to win then he will play.  Remember in Cbus winning is the only thing that matters.  No one cares about rules, integrity, or the team.  With an interim coach he will do anything to win all of the games to try to get the permanent job.

As a product of A2 schools I would not send my kids there.  A2 is a great for singles, couples, retirees but is expensive and highly regulated town.  Trying to do business in A2 is very difficult.  Dexter and Chelsea are much better and you are close to what A2 offers.  

I'd consider Brighton, Ypsi not so much.

I grew up in Ann Arbor went to school there and have two siblings there but would not recommend it unless you are left leaning.  If you are a conservative or even in the middle some of the policies in the school district will make you crazy.  Very cool place before kids and after kids but I would not want my kids to put up with the stuff I had to in the 1960's and 1970's.

I live in Milford (which is a cool little town) and commuted to Southfield.  The Huron Valley Schools are pretty good (not Birmingham or Bloomfield good) and housing is very affordable.  You are away from the malls but not far from Novi if you need to go there.  Downtown Milford is small but cool. I like South Lyon as well.

I've lived in Farmington Hills, worked in Southfield, Troy, Novi, Livonia, Ann Arbor, Oak Park and I like the less suburban areas like Milford and South Lyon.  I'm not too far from Ann Arbor and you can avoid highways by taking Pontiac Trail which is a nice drive to A2

Offense was horrible, defense seemd to blitz on every play.  Like an earlier prediction offense will be worse and defense will be better, I'm guessing 6-6.  Not sure why we had to completely break the offense.  Oh and by the way, it was boring as hell as well.

Unavoidable, I was born and raised in Ann Arbor.  Dad went to M the in the 1940's, he was a boy scout usher in the 1930's and had season tickets for years.  Mom was from Cleveland (went to Baldwin Wallace) and hated OSU and ND.  She was a more vocal fan than my Dad.  Also had 4 season tickets to BB.

I was able to get into games as a kid on a student tickiet for like $5 for games that were not sold out.  Lived on the same street as Canham and a couple of blocks from Ufer and about a mile from Schembechler (went to school with one of his step sons who was my age).  Graduated from Michigan and have been brainwashing my own kids....

My son is a senior as well.  He is still waiting to hear from Michigan and Case Western.  But is in at Univ of Ill.  Since he does not know what he wants to do and will enter in LS&A someplace.  I'm not opting for the $50k a year out of state school.  He will have a couple of private school options at about the same price as Michigan is instate.  Michigan for him is choice 1, 2 and 3 with everything else 4.  Unless your son is dying to be a Wolverine, or Michigan offers something he can't get at is other choices I'd save the money or let him pay the difference.

My dad paid for my college with this caveat "you are going to an instate public university unless they don't offer something you want to study".  I ended up at Michigan in Bschool which turned out great.

If we were out of state I'd be probably paying for Michigan because that is the only school he wants to attend.  Be careful how much brainwashing you do to your kids or you will end up like me.

A long time ago I was applying to instate public Universities.  My acceptance to MSU said "You are a Spartan!"  That simple statement made me drop them from further consideration.  Just did not seem like a statement to get excited about.   Kind of like "You have foot fungus!"

I usually don't bitch because bad refs go both ways.  But I thought with the style of defense Duke played they had an officiating advantage.  The hands checks and arm bars were never called.  I wish they has called a closer game and I think we got more than our fair share of ticky tack fouls.

Loved the effort just would have liked to see a more evenly officiated game.  I was not impressed by anything Duke did, but they do have some great athletes and a really deep team.

When I got out of college the company I worked for paid a car allowance but it had to be a 4 door American car.  There were not many decent choices.  I got the black one with blacked out chrome like the one pictured in the foreground.  Cool 4 wheel drive car that was unreliable and under powered.  Beat the hell out of the crappy GM front wheel drive x cars of the day

We used to have alternatives like Stoney and Wojo or Dennis Fithian (or Karsh before him) on WTKA.  I will not listen to Valenti at all and will avoid that channel at all cost when he is on.  

The problem is you have Jeff Defran on WTKA who while more of a Michigan supporter is considerably dumber than Valenti and I can't listen to him.

Your running backs must be a threat for play action to work.  We have yet to demonstrate a great running game without Denard as the featured back.  Glad to see your optimism.

Yes and Borges has years of experience doing so?  The are several specific examples where he has used a mobile QB, not!  You are assuming he has some capability he has never demonstrated, knowing how to use a mobile quarterback.  But lets not let facts get in the way of a cool glass of coolaid....

I actually really enjoyed our offense last year and it's entertainment value outweighed some of the crappy defense.  I'd rather see a 65-63 overtime win than a 10-7 win and I've seen both.  I'm not really looking forward to a more traditional offense but am looking forward to some semblance of a defense.

I see Borges running what he knows, he has never demonstrated the use of a running quarterback in any previous jobs.  He does not know how to use someone like Denard (or at least has never demonstrated it).  Good, bad or indifferent Denard will have limited use as a runner and anything beyond that is wishful thinking.  He will be a runner like Steve Young was, an occasional scramble and one or two designed run plays like a draw.

I would have liked to have seen more of a transition but there is no evidence that Borges or anyone on his staff has that experience.  So we get to see Denard 2.0 in a different offense and we will see how well he adapts.  The problem I see is that the new offense mitigates Denards advantages (running ability) and puts more emphasis on his weaknesses (throwing accuracy).

I hope Borges can adapt but I simply see no evidence, yet.  Not a bad thing for Denard if he aspires to play quarterback in the NFL, but no more multiple 10 yard rushing days.

Thankfully we are also blowing up the whole defense!

In the long run it will be fine but I think we are screwed with this guy in the short term.  Sound familiar?
