Agree, way too many empty seats in the lower bowl. Even for big games like Maryland. I'd like to see the lower bowl packed. If you can't come to the game find someone who can.
I have had season tickets in both the lower bowl and upper bowl but have not had season tickets in years, but when I do try to find single game lower bowl seats they are hard to find on something like stub hub - yet the lower bowl continues to be 1/4 to 1/3 empty.
I too am a minor donor but I think it you can't be bothered to make sure your seats are used them you should get crappier seats the follwoing year.

Mine was only a few years old when I bought it, but was getting rusty quick. Not sure how many survived even though they were a high volume car. Not especially powerful with the 4cyl VW engine but the best handling car I have driven because of the mid engine. They had a 916 with the same body but a Porsche engine that must have been really fun.
I wish I had had enough money at the time for a 911 but I had been working construction for years and had saved up $2500 by the end of freshman year and a 911 even used in the 70's was well beyond that. $2500 got me the 914, but even them I had to pour more money into it to keep it on the road.

For fun to drive and good gas mileage - I'd pick a Mini Cooper S, again. Relatively cheap as well and it hauls ass and handle well. My Dad went to High School at old Ann Arbor High (the Frieze building, now North Quad), U of M and had a small business near campus so he would hit up Drake's and Thano's among other campus hot spots.

The cool thing about the truck is that iw would occasionally blow perfect smoke rings at idle.

Stories like that are cool, especially when you learn something new and get it fixed. I have a much simpler example. Coming back from nothern Michigan we stoped for lunch in Saginaw and my Dad locked the car keys in the trunk but the doors are open. It is a Sunday so we would have been hosed waiting for a locksmith.
The power to the trunk swich is off but I notice the glovebox has a light that works without the keys in the ignition. We were able to jump power from the glovebox light to the trunk switch and get the keys out. I think I may have burned out a fuse but otherwise was able to get us on our way. Felt a bit Macgyverish with that one.

Eastern has historically not had much campus sprit and is often a communter campus (unlike Central or Western for example). At one point in the 80"s they were decent and drew decent crowds. But at one point in their history they had lost 27 straight.
I grew up in Ann Arbor and did not know anyone who had attended an Eastern football game.
But I was mighty excited about the prospects of the WFL Detroit Wheels who played in Rynearson Stadium and had a number of Michigan players. I would have gone to their games if they had not folded so quickly. Their coach Dan Boisture was Eastern's old football coach.
Who were the Detroit Wheels? - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_Wheels
They were trying to create local interest by signing ex-Michigan players. Mike Taylor played linebacker for Michigan was on the team with a couple of others.

Not a fan. I have been a member and contacted them for what I thought would they would have - and valuable to me - information on how to improve the chances of acceptance into Michigan. My employer provides a college coaching service but I found the Alumi Association and the local chapters provide no guidance at all. For those of you who have children who would like to attend Michigan, expect zero helpful information, guidance, or suggestions from the Alumni Association and local chapters. I understand that they have no say in admissions decisions, but a college coaching service for Alumni would be extremely valuable especially with the difficulty in gaining admission since the common app was implemented..

My stepmom has my dad's tickets since my dad died 15 years or so ago. There are the seats I sat in as a kid and heard my parents talk about seing Roger Staubach play Michigan in the Big House so I think they got them in the early 60's. Not sure if she is interested in transferring but the cost would be:
$600 per seat transfer fee
$400 more per seat PSD per year than what I pay now
Just not sure the $2k in year 1 and $800 more per year is worth it. Great seats at about the 45 at about row 50 but I am closing in on retirement and am not sure I want to take on that load. I'm not sure my son would be able to afford them for several years.
I'm thinking of just keeping my Section 42 and forgoing Section 1. I guess I am just a cheap Fat Bastard.

We're kicking BYU's ass but I could not kick the feeling of unease. I'm so shell shocked by the last few years I keep expecting a complete collapse. I don't even want to talk about how well we are doing during the game because I am afraid of a jinx.
I've been going to games since I was a kid in 1969 and I hope we are back to where you can feel hopeful before every game instead of concerned. A Harbaugh coached team just feels so competent, something I have not felt in a long time.
You might not think competent is high praise but after watching a ton of football I think it is apt and high praise.

Anything that is creative and not the same old schlock would be great. MM Band stuff #1 and new/creative piped in stuff a distant second. I'd be up for even old stuff if it was fresh.

I'd prefer the band mostly but otherwise newer or different stuff. How can we be the Leaders when we play the same old music as everyone else? I don't know shit about Hip Hop but would be up for some.

Would be nice to have something besides 7 nations army, and I do not need the scoreboard to tell me when to make noise. Don't mind some piped in music but when the 80 year old lady in front of me is dancing to AC/DC's You Shook Me All Night Long, especially "she was a sex machnine.." it turns my stomach a bit.
I'd like to see creative music choices by Michigan heritage artists - Bob Seger, Eminem, Uncle Kracker, Motown artists, etc, and use the band and historical band music as much as possible.

Agreed. The key term here is history. We do make progress. The difference is we have the right to bitch, vote and try to make changes. I'm sure most of the people in China want safe jobs and clean air and water but they have a limted voice.
The US is far from perfect on all counts, but our system does allow input and change. Enen if it occurs slower than we may like.

"PEPCON had only $1 million in stated liability insurance but costs paid by its insurer ultimately significantly exceeded this amount. A courtroom battle involving dozens of insurance companies and over 50 law firms resulted in a $71 million 1992 settlement with contributions from multiple parties including AMPAC/PEPCON and Southwest Gas Corporation that was divided among insurance companies on subrogation claims as well as the victims and their families."
Tell me millions or billions will be set aside for the families of the victims in China?
|26 weeks 2 days ago||Here is the difference||
Here is the difference. A US company and their insurance company would pay millions or billions in damages. Tell me that will happen in China. It will not bring the dead back but at least serves as an additional deterrence to stuff like this happening. China is a dangerous place to work or breath for that matter because no one has any rights.

Allowed my son to play in High School. But due to a dickhead JV coach who thought he was Vince Lombardi he quit after two years. He played 4 years of HS Basketball. I was not that worried about football as life is one big accident waiting to happen. I would have worried had he gone farther than High School.
His biggest head injury was incurred on a slip and slide.
I also believe Jarts can cause head injuries.
I was more worried about car crashes

|28 weeks 4 days ago||Fast and slow||
Fast - 1974 Firebird Formula with a 400 CI V8. But the smog controls tended to make it balky when cold.
Fast - 1972 Olds Toronado. Another 400 CI V8 had it 100 mph+ on old 27 between Higgins and Houghton Lake.
Faster top end - 1985 Audi GT - 120 mph on 696 late at night with no one on the road. Pulled over by police and given a sobiiety test. I had not been drinking just driving fast.
Fun but not that fast - 1976 Lotus Eclat, 1955 Ford Thunderbird and 1972 Porsche 914
Slow - 1970's MGB. It was new but slow as hell
Slower - Ford 9N Tractor, 40's or 50's I think
As you can tell by the years I am old and married and my go fast days are over!

Indoor arena in St. Louis from 1929 to 1999. Saw the 1978 NCAA men's basketball Final Four and the place was a hole. Not sure how it even got the games. Combined with the crappy fans from Arkansas, ND, Kentucky and Duke. Duke was pre Coach K so they were less obnoxious than the other fans.
If I never hear "Sooie go hogs!" again I'll be a happy man. Never heard as much swearing in an event as from the ND fans.
