In Leland, the Cheese Shop has amazing deli sandwiches, and obviously cheese. Located in Fishtown right on Lake Michigan. Not exactly Zingerman's but quite good.

Baked Alaska! Certainly not Barwis approved. But the Cuervo Silver Margaritas are definitely fun approved.

Chop House is far and away the best steakhouse I have ever ate at, of the chain variety.
If you ever find yourself in Las Vegas and at TI, I recommend the Steak House there. Decently priced and I had a fantastic Fillet.
I am from Grand Rapids and I would recommend anything that is part of the Gilmore Collection but specifically Rose's in EGR. Great food, great beers, an awesome location on Reeds Lake and again, very reasonably priced. Also fwiw, I like the GR Chop House much more than Judsons.
Spending a little more in GR I would recommend San Chez and Bar Divaini.
Good ole' favorite is the Beltline Bar a little south of town. Amazing Mexican food!

Most hated athlete EVER is David Boston....which in turn makes my favorite Wolverine, Marcus Ray.

One of my life long goals is to somehow give Carlos Quentin (Chicago White Sox) AIDS. If anyone can help out with this quest, your diligence will be rewarded!
Other honorable mention hates besides anyone from OSU...

I hear Scott Driesbach has another year of eligibility. I think he is the favorite to start...

Great topic howeva....I would rather listen to "pants on the ground" for the 15th time today.

I was the other guy with Terp haha! I was super drunk and the details are very fuzzy for me for the same reasons. Glad to see a fellow mgoblogger out and about tho. I seem to recall you saying something about how Kirk Ferentz is the worst coach in the B10? And me arguing with you about that for a while.
Anyway...I live with Terp and he is a really good friend of mine. Thanks a bunch for the support of his show! He tries his best but Sean's raging case of the Spartyroids likes to shine through a little bit on the show.

I don't want to get into a schematics argument about who's recruiting violations are bad or worse. Lets talk about how Lance Kiffin's wife will be the new coach of the song girls! HEEEEEEY! If the moon was made out of barbecue spare ribs, would you eat it? I know I would!

Realistically...it would be really nice to "replace" grimes and murphy with Jibreel Black and Rashad Knight. Hopefully the snake oil is in abundance in the last 3 weeks of recruiting!

TCU Cheerleaders have what I like to call "talent."
|4 years 29 weeks ago||I only glanced at this whole||
I only glanced at this whole thread and I do apologize if this topic has been posted already, but have any of you guys seen the uniforms and helmets being worn by TCU?!? Holy God they look like absolute dog shit. The "smoke" look on the pants just looks like a travesty waiting to happen and the entire ensemble together just makes me think of the All American Football league or whatever the heck league it is that has 4 teams in it. These uniforms are just straight up terrible. I thought this was college football and not the arena league.
Sorry for my rant. I really just can't stand incessant uniform changes and alterations that seem to be the current trend. What the hell was wrong with black?

A DRob Coach? I can only assume you mean the quarterbacks coach. Yes he already exists. His name is Rod Smith.
|4 years 29 weeks ago||This is such a ridiculous||
This is such a ridiculous topic. Devin Gardner hasn't even practiced one time with the team and people already want to decide what his future for the year is. Hell, the kid hasn't even officially signed a letter of intent! While it seems pretty obvious that Tate is the "leader in the clubhouse" to be next year's starter, the position is still widely up for grabs. I just want the best player to win the job and quite frankly I don't care who it is. I hope the best for all of them. Put a little trust in the Rich's ability to coach and build a program.

Red Shirted because of Major Applewhite. Thats right. Good call! Or maybe it was Chris Simms...I can't rememeber
|4 years 30 weeks ago||I want one of our three qb's||
I want one of our three qb's next year to just become a qb ninja and slay souls of other big ten teams.
But in reality I just want to see progression. A red shirt for Devin would be nice, but as talked about numerous times on this site before...we really don't know what he will do when he gets here. If he compares directly to Vince Young, it would be impossible to keep him off the field.
Hurray for QB Depth!

This makes my heart hurt. Curtis was not only a great player, but a great person, and MY TIGER!!!
This is what you get when you have contracts like Maggs, Bondo, D-Train and Robertson and btw...have a salary budget unlike the yankees.

I hardly ever comment on Brian's post because what am I going to say? Wow...I agree with you. Like always. But this one seems relevant.
I have been writing my Advanced composition final, a research paper about a playoff and found out I was allowed to cite MGoBlog. I found Brian's playoff idea from 2006 and used it for my paper. While being distracted I checked up on mgoblog like usual throughout the day and found this post. Crazy how things work out I guess.
|4 years 33 weeks ago||I really hope that doesn't||
I really hope that doesn't happen. I like to think that if coaches offer a scholarship to a player that they truthfully want that kid to play for their school. Idealistic I know...
|4 years 33 weeks ago||One of my favorite Wolverines||
One of my favorite Wolverines of all time, Mike Hart, was a camp offer...just sayin.
I have absolutely nothing to back this up, but for some reason, I have really high hopes for Carvin Johnson. Obviously I haven't done any form of concrete observation like the coaches have, I just really like the info I have read about the kid. Dude can play and lets face it, he is gonna get his chance at Safety.
|4 years 33 weeks ago||Oh, also, camp offers are imo||
Oh, also, camp offers are imo the best offers. Coaches get to watch kids perform in person and see exactly what they are like and how they will fit in their specific program. By far the most trustworthy type of offer.
|4 years 33 weeks ago||It honestly is a combination||
It honestly is a combination of position of need, offer lists, and star ranking. I too am on the band wagon of thinking scout, rivals and espn don't really know what the heck they are talking about, but truth be told, I would rather have tons of 5 stars every year than tons of 3 stars. USC has made a living off of that type of recruiting and I think they are doing well for themselves.
Every recruiting situation is different, but for us, getting players into the system as quickly as possible and at positions of need, will probably yield the quickest sign of effective recruiting.
Just because we don't have as highly rated class as years past, I am not going to start saying star ratings are useless or even not a good judge of talent. The proof is in the pudding, all the recruits Rich gets are all high school studs...we just have to do a better job at coaching than everyone else. That's how programs like 90's Nebraska could constantly put out top 5 teams with 3 star talent. 5 star recruits don't necessarily run the show, but they sure (usually) make it easier.
|4 years 35 weeks ago||You have to love all the||
You have to love all the competition that will be had in the secondary. I am just very leery about competition at linebacker. HOPEFULLY Sam Webb's gut feeling is right and Josh Furman goes blue, but losing stevie is going to hurt a lot and it has been made painfully obvious this year and last that Obi and Jonas just hate being in position. Hopefully JB Fitzgerald and maybe a freshie can push these older guys to play their best.
|4 years 35 weeks ago||Maybe an after thought will||
Maybe an after thought will all the hopeful recruits coming in, but what about moving Terrance Robinson to DB? Really fast kid who can't catch the ball? Maybe Rich puts him in a position where he doesn't have to worry about catching it.

I have just been to Max and Erma's like 3 times and this couple is always there. I have gone with my friends aunt and uncle because they are older.
Honestly, I have a bottle of wine I got from Napa Valley that is right at about the perfect time to open it up. That would be ideal, but it will be in GR. 2002 Cabernet from a little winery called Milat.
|4 years 36 weeks ago||Wild Turkey. I met an older||
I met an older couple at Max and Erma's after a game once who drink Turkey on the rocks. Me and a friend made small talk with them and found out they have come to every game for the last 60+ years. They live in Ohio. That dude bagged one hell of a girl. She goes to every M home game with him and afterwards they go drink Gobble Gobble (Wild Turkey.)
I told them this year if we beat OSU I will drink gobble gobble with them at Max and Erma's.
After that I will most likely switch to Guiness like usual.

This is easy. Of course. Unless she hinders you from being obsessed with Michigan Football in any way. I have dated a few girls who didn't understand my obsession, but they totally didn't care that I was obsessed.
Never dated one who shares my same obsession...I envy those who have that deeply.

I couldn't care any less about what Stewart Mandel has to say about Rich Rod in a 30 second response to an emailer. I am sure he has done loads of research to back his statement up.

This kid is nothing like Graves or Jones of last year. They committed early to Michigan without even seeing AA. Big Tex is actually coming here and has seemed high on us ever since he got his offer.
