I don't think "wow just wow" or "incredible" or "paranoid" is justified here, guys. There is reality, and then there is how that is presented, and people are fighting over both halves of that all the time. For the word concussion to make the final thing is an achievement given the events preceding this statement. Because that is *all* that matters in the PR/reality war. That single word.
Is that a cover up? No. It's there, that word. That is going to be a shitstorm tomorrow. I only have small windows into these things. I do think that this was a battle that the right people won and the wrong people dressed up.
Maybe I just have a dimmer opinion of Brandon PR than the majority?

They wouldn't say "lie." They would say something like "perspective." This is the kind of statement that every word is combed over, every word is fought over. There were immense fights over various words. The right ones got in and were surrounded by attempted mitigation.

I can't say much without burning a source but I do want to say that the informational parts of this were known to me this morning. There is a reason this took so long, and the medical staff should be commended.

bronx: I greatly appreciate all the stuff you've done for us but you are so far off on this. It doesn't matter if Shane was concussed
1) he'd taken a brutal helmet to helmet hit that drew a flag
2) he showed obvious concussions symptoms
3) he was allowed to stay in the game for a play and then re-enter
4) there was no rigorous testing done on the sideline
That is unbelievable failure and then to release a statement that lies about what happened and doesn't even mention a head injury is the last straw. This is utterly unacceptable.
|3 days 12 hours ago||Nearly passing out on the||
Nearly passing out on the field is a symtpom, and if Paul Schmidt if cleared Morris some 90 seconds after that happened he is not qualified to have his job. You cannot clear a guy who took that hit and reacted that way that quickly. To do so is pure negligence.
This has nothing to do with wanting Hoke fired. Hoke's already fired. Every neutral commentator thinks Michigan's handling of Morris was reprehensible, from the ESPN announcers to Dan Dierdorf to every major journalist covering college fotball. You. Are. Wrong.

A foot injury is not the same as a head injury. Stop drawing an equivalence.
|3 days 23 hours ago||The point is that they did||
The point is that they did not conduct a fucking exam after his "momentary blackout." It is not speculation. We saw a QB take a headshot and then lose control of his body momentarily. That is a fact, and if Michigan is too fucking stupid to take him off the field everyone should be fired.

It's not something I track. I assume a WR is going to try to get his hands on anything around him, so that's not a play that's out of the ordinary.

|2 weeks 6 days ago||The scale there is different||
The scale there is different since I only give 2 points for the whole line on a protection, three if they pick up a blitz or the protection is for a really long time. On run plays I'm generally trying to make a 3 or 4 yard run add up to 0, a 5 or 6 yard run +1, and so forth and so on; I deviate from that based on luck or good play from an opponent that I don't expect, etc., but in general if there's a TFL and one guy made it a TFL he is going to get a big negative, because I want that overall play score to make sense. This can cause some issues with consistency but I prefer it since it keeps me in a reasonable range. (It breaks down on long plays; if I wanted to be truly representative a 50 yard pass would featuer some huge minuses, but that seems way distorting.)
On the Mags protection minuses I'm not sure what one of them was but the one before the Gardner TO I only made a -1 because he stayed connected and pushed his man past the QB. Generally it's a -1 for something that hampers a play and -2 for blowing one up; often two guys will split a -2 if they miss a stunt or a blitz pickup.
