Fwiw, I was so pissed about the outcome yesterday that it took me until now to bring up anything regarding The Game.
I've gotten a lot better. Hell, I couldn't talk about Michigan football for two weeks after the Rose Bowl in 2004.
I'm just kind of surprised that Michigan took a step back vs OSU when they returned much of the team from last season. I don't want to think that Brady Hoke had the team more prepared for OSU than Harbaugh, but one might be inclined to think that's the case given the outcome of the game.
Ants Marching - Dave Matthews Band
I love the 60's - 70's era of music. I can't believe I hadn't heard of Dave Matthews Band until recently! Here I was listening to the Stones, The Beatles, CCR, Hendrix, etc all this time. I duno how I didn't hear about them until now.
Anyway, Ants Marching is definitely my favorite track from that era. There's no band out there like Dave Matthews Band, and I wish their sound was captured in modern music. I know most will like the rugged sound of 60's rock, but I think Dave's Ants Marching captures the era as a whole in just one song. It was a time of love and partying. It was a time of sharing and togetherness. Wish I would've been alive during the 60's.
Glad to see that DMB is still doing concerts. Still going strong like the Rolling Stones!

Imagine if Michigan had a great passing QB throughout his years playing there. He was a great WR. He wouldn't be forgotten if he was 6'3.
I honestly do not know of a more underrated player than him. He was tough as hell, confident, a great blocker, and you could always count on him. I knew he was gonna be good when he slipped a tackle around the 10 yard line and scored a TD when RR was here. I think it was his first TD at Michigan.

my father passed away recently. One of the personal items he left me was a gold chain with a rope bezel and a pendant inside. He wore it for decades.
He had the chain stored away because the gold had somewhat deteriorated over time causing it to break in a couple spots. The chain design is such that it's not really something you can fix without damaging the appearance. That, and I don't want to wear it and risk losing something that's so special to me.
I decided that I'd go ahead and buy new versions of the exact design of each piece and wear it, and store what he gave me.
I've been an Ohio resident for most of my life. The football tradition in this state is no joke. I don't think anywhere else is close. Football is inside us from a young age. I played the best HS football in the state, against the best competition. I think people here are a different breed than most places from fans, to the athletes, to the general mindset of its people. Growing up in that environment has an effect on you. There's a certain pride.
I think you saw similar characteristics of Ohio bred football people in Charles Woodson. You saw it in Bo Schembechler. You saw it in Jim Harbaugh. The list goes on. Those guys just had this looseness and a confidence that set them apart. I didn't see a weak arrogance in those guys like I have in others. It's as if all these greats were saved from the dark side by going to Michigan, and had they ended up in the Columbus death star, Michigan wouldn't be what they are today. Their contributions coupled with all that Michigan was and had to offer allowed for some magical things to happen.
I fundamentally believe that Michigan molds better young men than Ohio ever has. So, as we go forth, I am looking forward to the continued tradition of great young Ohio prospects see the light, and commiting to Michigan.
Michigan should beat Michigan State and not brag about it, that would be the nail in Dantonio's coffin. He's not worth any attention from Michigan. He can sit up in his room all day obsessing over UofM, while Michigan is focused on winning every game.
Conway was arguably my favorite recruit last year. I think could make a significant difference in the 2012 season and help ease the transition from the outside WR's Hemingway/Stonum to the next group.
Remember, this year Michigan loses Odoms, Hemingway, and Stonum. We're left with Roy Roundtree....and.....Roy Roundtree. Michigan has solid depth at slot but Denard could undoubtedly use another difference maker WR with the departure of those three.
I'm aware of the fact that he didn't get into UM and is attending school elsewhere. I'm just not sure where, and if he is still planning on coming to UM.
