| 3 weeks 2 days ago | I was always a huge Beilein |
I was always a huge Beilein defender (both here on the board and amongst my friend group), but he's been far better than I thought possible. I figured we'd get to Sweet 16s occasionally and that when that happens you always have a shot at the Final Four, but this recruiting is making returning to elite status not only possible, but probable. The 2014 class will be criticial for maintaing momentum, but really how can anyone doubt Beilein at this point. |
| 3 weeks 6 days ago | Congrats to him and very well |
Congrats to him and very well deserved. This Braves team is gonna obliterate our franchise record for Ks and the MLB record might not be out of reach. If there's a team I'd pick to lose to, it'd be the Tigers (well except for the obnoxious comments I have to deal with from friends). Looking forward to taking in my 2nd Braves game tomorrow (first was during the Final Four). |
| 5 weeks 2 days ago | It's always rather |
It's always rather interesting to watch the dichotomy of fanbases waiting for draft decisions. On one hand you have people saying that he should come back because he's not good enough to go to the NBA/NFL, but on the other hand they recognize that he's good enough to help their team which is why they really want him to stay. I'm honetly not sure if Hardaway is good enough to stick in the NBA because I think he does a few things at a "good" level (get to the basket, shoot, defend), but not one thing at an elite level (for Burke I think that'd be quickness, GRIII finishing at the rim, McGary motor). That being said it's probably in his best interest to declare this year because of the aforementioned stigmas attached to 4-year guys. If he does, I'll be appreciatve of all he did for the team (the 2011 20 pt second half against MSU, NBA fire jam perforamce against OSU this year, etc.) and be rooting for him to do awesome at the next level.

| 5 weeks 2 days ago | Yeah actually you have the |
Yeah actually you have the years mixed up. You're thinking of Stu and Zack's Jr yr with D-Mo. Their Sr. year we, you know, won the Big Ten title for the first time in a long, long time. |
| 7 weeks 2 hours ago | Yeah Walker's last game |
Yeah Walker's last game against Syracuse was actually a 33 pt 12 reb 6 stl 5 ast(4 TO) perormance so Triche should probably fact check before making statements like that. It seems players do take after their coach since Boeheim kinda seems like a douche and these statements seem kinda douchey. |
| 7 weeks 2 days ago | You know those things aren't |
You know those things aren't mutually exclusive right? I dare say if Devin did win the Heisman, there is an extremely high probability that we are Big Ten Champs also. |
| 7 weeks 4 days ago | I sank to my knees and |
I sank to my knees and started giggling in disbelief (but in a manly way of course) after the shot. After we won, I was lucky enough to be home alone so I just started sprinting through yelling and acting a fool. This is in contrast to UTL where I literally had to grab a pillow and put it over my mouth because my family was sleeping. |

Yes. By a significant margin. Exactly how big a gulf it is depends how we perform in Atlanta. |
| 7 weeks 5 days ago | I for one am very excited |
I for one am very excited about my Braves. It'll be tough to replace Chipper and the most complete team in baseball probably (the Nationals) plays in our division, but it's tough not to get pumped about the potential of the Uptons x 2 in combination with Heyward, Simmons, Freeman, etc. Not to mention seeing Tehran in the big leagues after dominating Spring Training. We'll probably set a new NL record for SO, but we'll hit a ton of bombs as well. As for my 2nd favorite team, the Tigers should really have no problem running away with the Central, but it's a treat to watch talent like Verlander, Cabrera, and Fielder play every day. Not too long ago, this team was absolutely terrible and the great fans of Detroit deserve an awesome team like this. Also completely unrelated, but screw the Phillies. Hope you enjoy the best 3rd place finish money can buy. |

| 8 weeks 3 days ago | Please don't compare the two |
Please don't compare the two groups. COY chose not to be a student group because they didn't want to deal with the oversight from the University that comes with that. I was hanging out with the people with the Maize Rage twitter password when I saw this and the immediate reaction was "getting into a fight with the largest Michigan sports blog is really stupd." I guarantee that if the equivalent happened to basketball, the current leadership of the Maize Rage would have handled it differently. |
| 9 weeks 2 days ago | Hey you know what? We were |
Hey you know what? We were darn lucky to have both of those fine men at the University and it's completely unnecessary to tear one down to prop the other up. Oh and the guy with 8 out of the top 10 total offensive performances in school histories is not "fading" any time soon. |

Welp any sympathy I previously had for A&M having to deal with Texas has evaporated. |
| 11 weeks 2 days ago | Or we're the 4 seed and PSU |
Or we're the 4 seed and PSU beat Wisky on a buzzer beater half court 4 pt play that caused Bo Ryan's head to explode (a man can dream can't he?) |

Every once in a while there's a post that proves that we need to be able to upvote past 5. Bravo. |
| 11 weeks 2 days ago | I can't generate any hatred |
I can't generate any hatred towards Penn State for that game. We had a lead and pissed it away, but they won the game fair and square (officiating was just typical away B1G officiating). Wisconsin on the other hand? They can go screw themselves. |
| 11 weeks 4 days ago | Or maybe he doesn't suffer |
Or maybe he doesn't suffer fools. If you don't understand the importance of beating State in basketball, then either you're literally a 3 year old or you're a fool. |

isn't there already a Walking Dead thread right below this one? |
| 12 weeks 3 days ago | That wasn't an iffy no call. |
That wasn't an iffy no call. It was JUSTICE for not calling that same thing in the NFC championship game. /still bitter Falcons fan. |
| 12 weeks 4 days ago | While I think it's kind of a |
While I think it's kind of a dick move to put it how you put it (immediately after a front page post criticizing a specific poster), I do get your point. I think the lack of content has a lot to do with how boring and stable the teams are respectfully. As huge as a Big Ten Title race is, it's not nearly as nerve racking and content producing as a bubble team (and I am 100% ok with that). Similarly we spent the offseason of 2009 debating whether to keep RR and the 2010/2011 olfseasons on how/if we could use Denard effectively. There's not the same divisive topics available this offseason. We pretty much all agree Mattison is awesome and how good we think Devin will be is a matter of degree (I think he'll be honorable mention all-Big Ten, but to each his own). |

I'm sorry I had to downvote this, because I will always downvote that statement. It's nothing personal. |
| 12 weeks 5 days ago | So do the lights in Crisler |
So do the lights in Crisler go out when Horford goes in or is it some sort of weird time shift? |
| 12 weeks 5 days ago | So all Beilein teams have |
So all Beilein teams have gotten worse as the season goes along? You mean like the 2010/11 squad that started 1-6 and went on a 8-3 tear (with the death to backboards game being one of the only losses) to finish the regular season and gave Duke all they could handle? Or is it the 2011/12 squad that won 6 out of the last 7 in order to clinch the program's first Big Ten title since 1986? We probably won't win the regular season title, but to say a one seed is a pipe dream and that the team isn't that good shows a fundamental lack of understanding about basketball. |
| 13 weeks 4 days ago | Stauskas and GRIII have been |
Stauskas and GRIII have been poor in away games not games "away from Crisler". In the preseason NIT tourney (the closest approximation I think of a first weekend of the NCAAs), both played fairly well as I recall. |
| 13 weeks 4 days ago | Number 22 is interesting |
Number 22 is interesting there as I've seen several times over the past couple seasons where refs HAVE counted the basket after we took a charge and then gave us possesion. Did they just screw up there or am I misremembering? |
| 13 weeks 5 days ago | Ok list me your top ten teams |
Ok list me your top ten teams above Michigan. Seriously saying "they're not top 10" isn't just an abstract statement, it means you think there are 10 teams in the country with better resumes/talent levels than Michigan. Despite the recent dip (after a brutal stretch I might add), I don't think there are right now. |
| 14 weeks 2 days ago | So are you saying Beilein |
So are you saying Beilein should be fired? I don't get the point of this ramble. And you're clearly living in a delusional world where Beilein walked into this amazing job that had all of these built in advantages over every other Big Ten school and has underacheived relative to that. The team is 21-4. It's a top 15 squad. They've been ranked in the top 25 for like a bazillion straight weeks (approximately). By all accounts of where Michigan basketball ought to be, it's meeting those metrics. Again I'm starting to lean towards my moron assessment from my first comment. |
| 14 weeks 2 days ago | Wow. I don't even know where |
Wow. I don't even know where to begin on addressing these. JB is going to make his 4th NCAA appearance in 6 years as Michigan coach. Michigan hadn't gone for a decade prior. He won a Big Ten Title. Let me say that one more time he WON A BIG TEN TITLE. Something that hadn't been done since 1986, something the Fab Five didnt even accomplish. If you're saying that improvements can be made, then you're absolutely right. If you're trying to say we need to go in a different direction than Beilein, then I'm sorry to be harsh, but you're being a moron. |
