It's level headed reason…

It's level headed reason-talkers like this who can help the otherwise hopeless masses at eleven warriors (RCMB is not salvageable) get past the pointless sign stealing topic, but will they listen?  Doubtful.

What are the wings' chances…

What are the wings' chances in seven games against the Rangers, any optimism there?

But on the bright side,…

But on the bright side, buckeye fans are so stone-headed that Brindley having a good career may actually make them unhappy.

Uh, Pedro has no father in…

Uh, Pedro has no father in the "who's your daddy" game.

Ohio States QB's all look…

Ohio States QB's all look awful.  Sure it's just spring, but you don't see anyone firing a ball in anywhere.  Howard didn't play much, but that appears to still be where all of their eggs reside.

And on defense, it's hard to tell given Ohio State's offense, but it looks like it's built to stop a passing game.  Lots of interceptions and not so much of stuffing the run game.  I assume they will easily make the playoffs so this doesn't matter much, but I think my fear level has ratcheted down one spot after their two hand touch  spring game.

Great achievement getting to…

Great achievement getting to this point in this particular season.

That was somehow reminiscent of losing a game to the '94 Penguins.

2013 was a legit chance to…

2013 was a legit chance to win it all, but aside from that I don't think the big ten team in the finals has really deserved a win.  They just happened to accidentally make the finals.  I guess you could say Purdue was fully justified as a top two team this year, but they could not play with UConn.

Sooooooooo, UConn to the Big Ten?

The NFL's 12 team playoff…

The NFL's 12 team playoff arrangement was perfect based on the length of it's regular season, and they made a mistake changing from that.  The old MLB playoff system, pre-wildcard was good too, since it refelcted the extremely long and statistically meaningful regular season results.  MLB wildcards are stupid, since we have 162 games of data already.

But NHL hockey looks at the errors of other leagues' playoff structure and says, hold my Canadian lager.  The NHL has an extremely long and very informative regular season, and then invites more than half the league to the playoffs anyway.  The ice hockey champion is crowned in freaking June.  The NHL would be more sensible if it were just a series of tournaments instead of having a regular season.  If you're going to devalue the 80+ regular season games to almost nothing , then just skip to the playoff format right away.  And for crying out loud, hockey, finish your season when it's still cold at least in Canada!

No, I don't think that.  If…

No, I don't think that.  If JJ had returned, this would be a legit top 4 preseason team again even with the pile of draftable guys leaving.  What Harbaugh did was build a powerhouse of football excellence.  He just left before we could see the long term recurrence, you can blame him for that.  But we still have the best defense in the big ten and possibly the country even though several defenders from last year left for the draft.  And no matter what they did, they were not going to have another JJ lying around.

All Harbaugh did was leave, he made no other discernably bad choices since 2021.  Michigan's AD and administration as a whole need to open up the NIL floodgates to convert recruiting success.

A total eclipse is a must do…

A total eclipse is a must do at least once in your life.  Try to watch it in a dry region, because there you can actually feel the temperature drop while the sun is getting covered up, and long before totality.

And seeing the actual total eclipse is more or less unexplainable.  In a way it can be terrifying, like looking directly into the eye of the devil.  In another way, its serene and you are surrounded by a 360 degree sunset.

Just do it, words don't do this particular experience justice.

Drevno probably needed…

Drevno probably needed Harbaugh more than the other way around.

I thought the Baltimore…

I thought the Baltimore football story was the Colts packing up into trucks and moving from Baltimore to Indiamapolis in the middle of the night.  Don't recall that type of hijinks with the browns move to Baltimore.

Lincoln Riley's tenure as a…

Lincoln Riley's tenure as a top two Big Ten coach is going to last right up until we play them, at the longest.

And I get that putting a list together is as difficult as it is pointless, but putting Sherrone behind the guy at MSU just seems dumb.  Michigan is all but certain to beat them and have a better record in 2024, so their stated logic on sherrone will be erased wrt MSU almost immediately.

I particularly appreciate the confetti screen, and I hope you guys pull a reasonable profit from this.

MSU fans can look forward to…

MSU fans can look forward to those moments somewhere down the road when Michigan slips up or makes the wrong hire and they get another moment in the light.  But not this day.

Sparty caught so many breaks…

Sparty caught so many breaks, and we still sent them down in flames.  Glorious.

Go Blue.  Fuck You State.  Frozen Four

Steve Fisher with those rosy…

Steve Fisher with those rosy cheeks has to be on the likable list.  I think Lute Olson was pretty likable.  Jerry Tarkanian.  John Chaney.  John Thompson.

Did Rick Adelman ever coach in college?  If so, him too.

I don't have this type of…

I don't have this type of skill, but I hope there is someone out there who creates a combo email/ phone/ text/ Twitter/ alert bot that spams every mention of sign stealing in every possible sport to Tony Petitti, for the rest of his entire life.

This type of thing is so…

This type of thing is so easy to fake, I don't know why anyone would pay for it.

Outside of employing the…

Outside of employing the Rick Pitino hookers and blow approach to recruiting, this is as good and promising a hire as we could make.  Look at how Michigan has succeeded and has failed since Fisher left.  There is pretty strong evidence that the program functions best with this type of person as the head coach.  It's impossible for anyone to predict, and it will take 3-4 years to really know, but doubting a guy who built a program from scratch that reached and stayed at a very solid peak is a reach.

Penn State, Oregon, and…

Penn State, Oregon, and Texas.  Why bother playing those games?  Just pay the teams and do an untelevised scrimmage so we don't have to watch these soulless bloodbaths.

This sounds like they are…

This sounds like they are trying to solve very specific problems and they have not thought of all the stupidity that this will result in outside of those specific solutions.

I think Warde did a great…

I think Warde did a great job in landing May.  He deserved his criticism before that, but this looks like a great move in itself.

Harbaugh would answer real…

Harbaugh would answer real.questions, and he would toy with reporters who brought BS questions that most coaches have canned answers for.  I miss him already.

Injuries did play a big role…

Injuries did play a big role in the awfulness of 2007.  Yes, chalk up a loss to Oregon, but App St, Wisconsin, and Ohio State are probably all wins with a healthy Hart, Henne and Long.  Particularly Ohio State with Boeckman (I don't remember how to spell it) at QB.  They were doomed in that game if Henne was somewhere near his normal self.  Alas.

Nice work, Warde.  This is a…

Nice work, Warde.  This is a good pickup and a good restart for the origram.l

I would guess Sharpsburg, Maryland would be worth a stop, where the battle of Antietam took place.

If you make it to Chattanooga, TN, there is civil war memorabilia everywhere, hotels feel haunted with it.

Good offense beats good defense... unless it's 2023 Michigan

Paradoxically, if he were only hanging out the passenger side of his best friend’s ride, we would still want that Scruggs

What happens if you type in "45-23"?

The comedy of Ryan Day…

The comedy of Ryan Day trying to become a baby Harbaughin his own way, considering the life and career trajectory of Ryan Day before he got ground up by real Harbaugh teams, is seemingly limitless.

You keep saying it Ryan!  You got this!

I attended in the late 90's,…

I attended in the late 90's, and thus I believe everything from that era was perfect.  The band was set up across the field from the student section, like Section 42-ish.  With the band over there, they blast directly toward the student section, so you could see and hear them clearly.  They were also out of the way physically, so the band did not impede the general crush down to the lower seats.  I consider all of that better than when the band is inside the student section.  The student section was also more of its own entity, which was fun in the Superfan era.

I attended the Nebraska game in 2022, the Blake Corum goes for eight yards every single carry game that was as cold as the devil's asshole.  We sat right down near the front and to the right of the student section/band.  We couldn't really hear or experience the band.

So chalk me up as preferring the 90's era setup.

I'm not arguing against or…

I'm not arguing against or for this, but you have to at least mention Bob Stitt and Matt Campbell if you're going to start this thread.

Coach serchin anit easy.

Justin Fields has had enough…

Justin Fields has had enough good fortune just handed to him that I believe he will be able to bear the weight of being drafted super, super high by the wrong NFL team and then underperforming.

I'll always love Juwan, and I hope we can find a really good college coach

I think Warde has already…

I take it all back.  Hopefully we find a great ne coach and rise again.

Ever since 1994, if I hear…

Ever since 1994, if I hear the phrase "pretty please with sugar on top" I silently or audibly finish it with "clean the fucking car". I am unable to unjoin the two phrases now.

Ohio State already has…

Ohio State already has Michigan's playbook, and all of our signs.

Yeah, I would just hate to…

Yeah, I would just hate to have a nearly uninterrupted string of Zeke, Weber, Dobbins, Henderson.  What magic was Ohio State using to make their offense work with such slim pickings?

You're right, but listen to…

You're right, but listen to Klatts in-game coverage of the 2016 & 2017 Ohio State games, and you may start to agree with mgro.  He was calling ref shenanigans in a way that, say, Musberger never ever would have.

This is only slightly…

This is only slightly intriguing.  Wake me up when this fricken laser beam can be mounted to a shark, so I can use it to terrorize my randomly captured foes.

I finally read Moby Dick…

I finally read Moby Dick over the past month or so.  What an amazing piece of work that book is, I can see why its considered a classic.  This will not hit everyone necessarily, but the depth and quality of written work in the 19th century is almost unbelievable considering what gets published, yelled on TV and screamed out by social media today.  The clarity of thought and explanation of the human as a combination of animal and high intellect in the same being seems to have peaked in the mid- to late-1800’s. I would suggest anyone read the classics from that time period (Crime and Punishment, Moby Dick, Thus Spake Zarathustra, War and Peace, Brothers Karamozov, etc, etc).

I would take beilein back in a heartbeat.  Not happening but very welcome in my book

I share this sentiment.  We…

I share this sentiment.  We may not get another Beilein, but we have to take some kind of action and attempt to improve from this mess.  Love Juwan forever regardless, it's just not working, he's not a college coach.

14 is about the stupidest…

14 is about the stupidest number of teams to put into a playoff.  8, 12, 16 all have better logic, and 12 & 16 have about the same dollar value.  College football history has very clearly proven that the difference between the 4th and 5th team is far less relevant than the difference between the 2nd and 3rd team, so giving only two byes is also going to be arbitrary and unjust.

It's like they are actively trying to do the dumbest things, and then the people in charge of this will throw their hands up and claim CFB fans can never be satisfied when their stupidity is exposed.

Impossible.  Harrison is the…

Impossible.  Harrison is the best wide receiver to grace a college field in the last 20+ years according to all who are paid to speak about it on TV.  None are better , including the handful of generational talents that preceded him at Ohio State and the other handful on their roster or coming in now.

Ohio State is the king of…

Ohio State is the king of self-reporting small violations.  It's so obviously strategic that you wonder why the people whose only job is rooting out things like this still accept and just move on after 15 years.

Speaking of which, I'm…

Speaking of which, I'm guessing Blake is in the process of dumping a lot of that bulk that he put on in 22 and 23.  His 40 time and M resume are going to be more important for him than weight lifting stats at the combine.  If he combines his actual history with a 2021 era Blake Corum 40 time, he may go in the 2nd round.
