The issue is that the college

The issue is that the college football videogame market is not large enough to support two titles. There won't be enough people flocking to 2K to justify the cost unless they make an absolutely mindblowing game (unlikely) or they can conjure up new customers somehow. Don't get too excited.

It's the same issue that NCAA Basketball games had and why 2k dropped out of those as well.

How is this flamebait??

How is this flamebait??

My favorite part of this is

My favorite part of this is that the resistors think they can change things by complaining about it on the internet. I'm sorry, but I fully support Brandon and he's completely right. People are still gonna pack Michigan Stadium no matter what. The sooner you guys understand this. If we don't adapt we will die. It's that simple.

So anyone who paid 80 bucks

So anyone who paid 80 bucks to watch the EMU game should be able to tell the AD what to do?

No, it is. We as fans tend to

No, it is. We as fans tend to think we are a lot more important than we actually are. College athletics is for the athletes.

HAH?!

HAH?!

I'm not saying don't have an

I'm not saying don't have an opinion. But the amount of uproar surrounding this situation is unneccessary.

Nope! So I don't see the big

Nope! So I don't see the big deal here.

It's not DB's job to do what

It's not DB's job to do what you all think is best. It's to do what he thinks is best for Michigan Athletics. No one here has enough information to understand his decision making process, so it is completely pointless that all of our fans are whining about this.

The road games they go to are

The road games they go to are within reasonable traveling distance. This is a road game (whether you like it or not) not a bowl game and it's REALLY far away. Why aren't people mad that we aren't sending them to Nebraska this year, or Iowa last year, or any of the countless road games that aren't within busing distance?

It costs twice as much to

It costs twice as much to send the band than the football team. I think the football team might be a little more important. Does the band really bring 400-500k worth of value to the game? I don't think so. The AD is already (presumably) sending the band to ND, OSU, B1G Championship game (if we play to our full potential), and a bowl. Asking them to send the band to more games is kinda absurd. I'll probably get attacked for this. How dare I have a different opinion.

If you want Michigan

If you want Michigan Basketball to be a top 10 program, you should get used to players leaving early. That's how it works.

I think Coach B has got

I think Coach B has got everything under control...don't worry. You don't hear fans of power programs asking these kinds of questions. Attrition happens at a high rate at the top. Michigan fans just aren't used to it yet.

Blake Griffin and Jared

Blake Griffin and Jared Sullinger's games are not at all similar. I'm not sure what you are watching.

oops double post. fail on me.

oops double post. fail on me.

I think this topic is the

I think this topic is the most reasonable discussion of the NBA that I've ever seen on this board. Bravo.

Edit: I'm not being sarcastic.

That is a ridiculous double

That is a ridiculous double standard and that's all I'm going to say.

Let me guess: you were

Let me guess: you were disgusted by the Cincy-Xavier brawl, but you LOVE hockey fights

You obviously don't watch any

You obviously don't watch any NBA basketball, or are too stupid to realize what's happening when you are watching NBA basketball.

For some reason, whenever NBA

For some reason, whenever NBA is discussed here, people need to trash it. Probably because they are either 1) racist 2) insecure hockey fans 3) white 4) over 40 5) a combination of those

In the real world nobody

In the real world nobody outside of the midwest cares about hockey

I'm not gonna lie, I found it

I'm not gonna lie, I found it way more entertaining than any halftime show this year...but I really can't stand how quiet the band plays.

2.5 before 4 now. The 2.5

2.5 before 4 now. The 2.5 because I wasn't really sure what we were gonna be like as a team, and I assumed OSU would be at least a little bit better than they turned out to be.

RGIII is my Heisman right

RGIII is my Heisman right now, but I think someone that deserves a lot more consideration is Montee Ball. He has 30 total touchdowns and almost 1500 yards rushing...c'mon man.

I'm in that class and it has nothing to do with the Athletic Dept. Just a project. Dont look into it.

"Based on the responses here,

"Based on the responses here, I'd say the NBA may be the least popular league around. " In Michigan? Yes. Around the rest of the US? No.

I'm glad I'm not the only one

I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees the nonsense going on in this thread

Here's the thing that most

Here's the thing that most people on this board don't understand: Outside of some Midwestern states and Massachusetts, people don't really care about hockey so it's still not going to get a lot of coverage on ESPN. Most NBA fans don't like hockey so why would they suddenly start watching more hockey? If anything college basketball will see a boost. NOT the NHL.

I assume you don't watch a

I assume you don't watch a lot of NBA because your opinion on how the league plays is flat out incorrect.

YES. Honestly, if you're

YES. Honestly, if you're Rashard Lewis, are you gonna turn down a max contract because you aren't worth it? Fuck no, you're gonna take it. The owners put themselves in this situation and they are trying to blame the players. It's nonsense.

At this point, the NHL is a

At this point, the NHL is a niche sport. Not enough people like it to justify more coverage on the major media networks. No NBA isn't going to change this because people that like pro basketball are typically not hockey fans.

I agree with you completely.

I agree with you completely. I'm not sure where some hockey fans get the idea that the NHL will suddenly become more popular. Pro Basketball fans and NHL fans are two very different types of people. The people that want to watch the NBA aren't going to turn to hockey.

Wow I seriously hope that was

Wow I seriously hope that was sarcasm

I agree. It's nonsense and it

I agree. It's nonsense and it needs to die.

This is typical Francesa.

This is typical Francesa. He's completely full of himself and thinks he knows everything and doesn't need to do any research. I grew up in CT and my dad listened to WFAN all the time in the car so I've heard plenty of crap from this guy. You would think that since he covers/talks about the Yankees every day, he would do his due diligence on their playoff opponent so he could pass what he learned on to his listeners. Instead you get "well I've never even seen the kid pitch."

I think it's possible he

I think it's possible he could stick around there if he plays well enough. Fisher is 37 and Steve Blake is over 30 and not any good anyways. At this point his ceiling is certainly higher than either of those two guys. And even if they get a big time PG, he can still hang around as a backup. Just because they might bring in a big name doesn't mean they are just gonna give him away.

He hasn't signed a contract

He hasn't signed a contract yet and won't be able to until the lockout is over (which better be soon, because I <3 me some NBA). I do know that the Lakers let him drive a car that looks like a bat mobile. That's all I know. I'm not joking.

Please god let this happen

Please god let this happen

This isn't as bad as "We are

This isn't as bad as "We are ND," but it's still mad lame. Or maybe I only think this because that is not at all my kind of music.

More detailed PS3 rosters are

More detailed PS3 rosters are in the works. They are expected to be finished tomorrow night. Here's the info on those: http://www.operationsports.com/forums/ncaa-football-rosters/485105-buckeye02-gatorbaits-ncaaf-12-rosters-ps3.html

That dog is brilliant.

That dog is brilliant.

Who cares

NHL players are just lazy, uneducated, thugs who only care about making money. They don't try and it's obvious. I don't need to actually watch the sport to have this opinion. Why do you think they only play in short spurts? Obviously because they don't wanna put forth effort for longer periods of time...DUH. You know, I used to be a big fan of hockey until the lazy toothless white guys started taking the spotlight from the hardworking, gritty, smart black players I watched when I was a kid.

/Think this sounds ridiculously stupid? I agree. It's like some the MGoCommunity's opinions on the NBA, Hockey-fied!

You, my friend, are right on

You, my friend, are right on the money in my opinion.

Those are all fair points.

Those are all fair points. This criticism of the league is much more warranted than the "DERP NOT INTELLIGENT DERP NOT TRYING DERP" arguments we've seen throughout this thread"

And that's the thing, they DO

And that's the thing, they DO play both ends of the floor. Yes, there are teams/players that are better defensively than others, but just because a team/player is struggling defensively doesn't mean that because they aren't giving effort. It's not that simple.

I guess what I just don't

I guess what I just don't understand is why people think that NBA players don't try. Yes, they do make what they do look really easy, but that doesn't mean they aren't trying.

As ihartbraylon said "subtle

As ihartbraylon said "subtle racism"

I watch a lot of regular

I watch a lot of regular season basketball and you are just flat out wrong.

I'm not trying to say the NBA

I'm not trying to say the NBA is loved by everyone. I don't have a problem with anyone disliking a sport. But when people feel the need to constantly bash it for nonsensical reasons when other people are trying to have an adult conversation it is really annoying and unecessary. And I'll ask a similar question to you, Why is it so difficult for the NHL fans on the board to accept that most of the nation likes the NBA a lot more than the NHL?

This would be less

This would be less irritating if the criticism of the league were a little more novel or creative
