Yes.  If you say otherwise,…

Yes.  If you say otherwise, then you are oblivious to the last Big 10 team to win the championship. I'm ok with that being erased.

I'd personally rather a Big…

I'd personally rather a Big Ten team (with exceptions that are not currently possible) win than any other team.  It's been far too long.

Looks like I first joined in 2009.  The reason I landed on this blog way back then escapes my memory but I'd wager that I was looking to argue with people about whether or not RR could succeed at Michigan.

His sister went to U of M.  We had the same Econ 101 class.  I wasn't too fond of her brother at the time due to the 1993 NCAA Championship result.

Anyway... F Cancer.

Except switching 1 and 2,…

Except switching 1 and 2, that is how I'd rank the top 8 going into this next weekend.

What will be interesting is if there is some chaos this weekend and the committee has to decide between a 1 loss OSU or 1 loss conference champions.

Almost bought some beer from Rhinegeist Brewery for tailgating tomorrow.  Grabbed some from Old Nation instead.

I second this.  I don't…

I second this.  I don't consider the SEC to be a greener pasture.  The ACC feels like a better fit and that conference would be foolish not to take this chance to extend an offer.  Michigan immediately adds substantial credibility, both academically and athletically, to the conference.  The TV revenue the conference could now demand would add stability by satisfying the unsettled schools (Miami, FSU, Clemson).  Perhaps they even gain enough leverage to tell ND to either go all in or gtfo.

And what are you the epitome…

And what are you the epitome of?

Lurking a rival team's message boards, getting butt hurt because fans of that team are perhaps a little biased towards that team, and then announcing to that message board that you just had to respond.  I'm sure that your circles are proud of the man that you are.

This situating is similar to…

This situation is similar to "Deflategate."  No amount of logical discussion is going to change the mind of people who want to think that cheating was involved to gain a competitive advantage.

The only thing Michigan can do is continue to win after the alleged cheating, similar to what New England did in 2015.

Maybe I'm in the minority,…

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I think wearing a Michigan jersey to Ohio Stadium when Michigan isn't playing there is tacky.

Or... pay attention…

Or... pay attention... perhaps he wasn't able to attend a particular year for a reason that is none of your business.

For me... I have had tickets for nearly 30 years. I go to most games but I have cut back considerably over the past few years. My kids are teenagers and have been pretty heavily involved in fall sports.  As much as I love Michigan football Saturdays, there are several factors that trump the need to be at every game, every year.

Seriously, did this post really trigger you that much or are you just always an asshole?

My best advice at that level…

My best advice at that level.  Don't pigeon hole the kids in set positions based on their current abilities.  Make your best scorers play defense and let your defenders play up occasionally.  Don't make one kid play goalie the entire season.  The parents might not like it but it will serve those kids better in the long run.

For practice, find drills that the kids think are fun but actually teach skills.  One game that comes to mind is you put all the kids in a defined area. They each have a ball. The goal is to try to kick the other balls out of the area but also protect your own ball at the same time. Last kid with a ball in the area wins. I'm sure searching "fun youth soccer drills will give you lots of ideas."

And do a parents vs kids scrimmage at the end of the season.

I was for a good portion of the first semester.  Tore knee cartilage.  Lucky to have the best orthopedic surgeons in the state just across the street from the dorm.  Unfortunately, I'm at a point where I'll need surgery again soon.

I was a freshman in 92-93.  I remember watching the ND game in the TV lounge on our floor (Markley 5th Van Tyne).  If I recall that INT correctly, it was in the middle of the field and right to the ND defender's chest.  Easy pick.  (Edit: Confirmed by Dennis).

There are several key Michigan sports moments that I can remember fairly vividly, particularly where I was at that time.  Unfortunately, it seems that most of those memories tend to be of the groin-pain variety.

Fair enough.... but if we are going to have standards closer to those of Stanford than Kentucky, we can't get frustrated when we aren't competing for NCs.

Really?  The article came across my social media feed.   Before that, I didn't even know the kid was in high school.  The extent of my "stalking" was verifying what year he was.

Not all legacys want to follow in their fathers footsteps.  CJ Carr is a prime example.  Tom Brady is currently our most well known Alum.  When his 15 year old says he wants to go to Michigan, that's interesting news for several reasons, including the thought of Tom being around the program more in the near future.

The intelligence level of this board has deteriorated greatly over the past decade.  People are too quick to jump to the first feather-brained conclusion that pops into their head without thinking it through.  I realize that this response will be viewed as a "melt down" by the zombie hoard.  Neg away.

Jason Hanson was taken as the last pick in the second round by the Lions.  He played his entire 21-season career there and is fourth in NFL history for points scored (granted, all kickers at the top until you get to Jerry Rice at #42).   Dude was money until the end.  If there were to be a Lions' Mount Rushmore, there is a good argument that he should be on it.

Point is... he was worth being a top 10 pick.   No kicker will ever be taken that high but what a luxury to not have to worry about position of significant importance for that long of time.

I was kind of hoping that he would fall just shy last night and instead do it early in tomorrow's game. I would have liked to have seen the milestone bucket live, but I just don't care enough to want to stay up past midnight.  If he didn't to it last night, I would have watched tomorrow.  Ah well.

Great accomplishment.  Likely won't be broken in my life time.

No, but Steph did get pissed that Poole took a 3 (and missed) instead of passing to him with a little over a minute left in the game.   Steph then proceeded to throw his mouth guard and got ejected so it is very satisfying that Poole hit the game winner.

Not surprised.  Where did you see/hear that it was officially denied?  I searched everywhere and the only thing I saw was a statement from the NFLPA that it wasn't discussed.

I guarantee you that 10 seconds before Hayes swung, he wasn't thinking "I'm going to hit this guy in the back of the head."  He was pissed (deservedly so) and he threw a punch.  Happens all the time in sports after dirty plays such as Mo's.  In this case, Mo happened to be turned around.

Hayes will likely get a suspension as he should, but Mo's punishment shouldn't be any lighter.

Crazed?  Perhaps, but wwyd?

Crazed?  Perhaps, but wwyd?

  1. Your adrenaline is on full blast.
  2. Someone just intentionally ran you into the sideline where a potentionally devastating injury could have occurred.

I love MO, but that was uncalled for and was the catalyst of any subsequent reaction.  Don't let your Michigan homerism blind you to that.

Edit:  Just saw that I said pretty much the same thing as Darker Blue.   Also, Hayes' retaliation was dangerous and will have necessary consequences, but it was a reaction to Mo's ridiculous instigation.  I swear... some of you with current or former Michigan athletes are like parents defending their children.

2022 TCU is #32.

Heisman runner-up Max Duggan and the Horned Frogs haven't been the most dominant team in the world, but they nearly made it through a deep Big 12 unscathed, losing only in overtime to a top-10 Kansas State team. They are mostly weakness-free, but their main strength is one that could come in handy from an underdog perspective: They can make big plays at any time, from anywhere, on any down and distance.

Edit:  Also relevant, 2022 OSU is #23.

No team stands to potentially gain more from a CFP bid than Ryan Day's fourth Buckeyes team, which rolled through most of the regular season with little resistance -- 11 wins, all by double digits and seven by at least 29 points -- before face-planting against Michigan for the second straight year. While that threw the Buckeyes into a bit of an existential crisis, a win over Georgia in Atlanta would certainly flip their perceptions around quite a bit. (And a blowout loss would very much do the opposite.)

For the record.  I neg people. Primary reasons are for the topic being:

  1. Obvious trolling.
  2. Confrontational.
  3. Controversial.
  4. Nonsensical.

I do not neg someone just for sharing news or an opinion that makes me sad or apprehensive.
