Defense wins NC.

We lose…

Defense wins NC.

We lose all DCs.

New DC comes in, says "What a nice defense you had, but I'm going to change all to my system".

7-14 pt swing in points allowed per game = we lose to TX, OSU and Oregon miss first playoffs.

I was about to type my own…

I was about to type my own reply, but yours summed it up.

Championships are very hard to come by, and I think the player / coach turnover is going to make it hard for us even to make the playoffs next year.

The whole Harbaugh thing and how it was handled by the NCAA, Big Ten and Michigan really soured me.

Ugg don't care. Don't like…

Ugg don't care. Don't like either teams cities, colors, players.

If ravens and/or lions were in would watch.

Don't like the Jay Z produced half times. Hasn't been a good halftime in 12 years. Usher is not entertaining and he's smug. The 2000-2009 shows were great.

The commercials are boring now too since everyone went politically correct. Nothing funny or edgy. There will be a zillion State Farm and big pharma stuff.

Soon, if we are going to be…

Soon, if we are going to be competitive, then the players combined salaries will be greater than the coach. Like NBA. So a millionaire managing other multi-millionaires. So to win, you need a NC or Duke system when you pay $$$ for some of the top 50 recruits and get a guy to "manage" them for the 1-2 years they are here.

We need a DC to carry on…

We need a DC to carry on with what we have. Pay Minter.

Our D won these games. We've always been able to score 30+ but prior to the last two years our losses were from giving up even more points.

Sorry, Michigan isn't going…

Sorry, Michigan isn't going to do anything for Harbaugh.

People in charge don't like him which is why he is gone.

NO and NO.

I think JH will…

NO and NO.

I think JH will last about 4 years at Chargers. About average for his coaching career.

He rubs people the wrong way in upper management.

Like Beilein he's gonna regret this.

I still have that issue!

I still have that issue!

Howard will have some hard…

Howard will have some hard discussions with AD and next season will be his last.

He hasn't shown anything to develop or recruit talent.

Activate boa constrictor…

Activate boa constrictor offense, chew up 75% of each quarters clock, keep Penix off the field.

I'd be willing to take some…

I'd be willing to take some of the cheerleaders on my team.

I don't know that losing a…

I don't know that losing a few guys that don't fit - or want to be starters but there is no room - is the same as OSU losing the entire starting offense. Don't think we ever seen that in college football to date.

Yeah on paper (or SP+) we…

Yeah on paper (or SP+) we should win it all.

But there is always exceptions to the rule.

Injuries, big field-flipping plays and gaffes with override SP+.

If we play smart, no turnovers, no special team gaffes we should win.

1997 Michigan beats all…

1997 Michigan beats all those teams.

I would like to see fancy…

I would like to see fancy stats vs actual bowl and playoff results from previous years. Last year I bet we had stat advantage over TCU. Unfortunately, Michigan's history is to play like crap in bowl games. I hope Harbaugh is will keep the team focused this year.

Toughest teams I wouldn't…

Toughest teams I wouldn't want to play:

Mich, Tex, Bama, Georgia, Ohio St, Wash, Ore, PSU, Missouri, FSU

Last two year this was the…

Last two year this was the same scoop story.

That OSU was tooled to compete for NC in domed stadiums with little concern for smash mouth between the tackles run defense or a run offense.

As such the same formula applies - wear them down with run game, keep Harrison tightly covered.

I agree. The chemistry was…

I agree. The chemistry was bad. A ball hog. Really glad he is gone and we have a team now.

You all are dreaming.

If #6…

You all are dreaming.

If #6 Oregon beats #5 Wash they switch places.

#1 OSU losing to #3 Michigan also swaps so PAC12 not going to CFP.

There is no way they drop OSU out of top 4 if Washington, Tex, Oregon are all 1 loss.

If and only if Bama beat GA then it's Bama, GA, Mich, FSU.

Unless the bottom 2 of #3 Michigan or #4 Florida State lose, PAC12 not getting in.

Yeah no, #6 Oregon beating …

Yeah no, #6 Oregon beating #5 Wash moves them up one.

#1 OSU losing to #3 Michigan also swaps so Oregon is not going to CFP.

Unless the bottom 2 of #3 Michigan or #4 Florida State lose, Pac 10 not getting in.

The rest of the big ten…

The rest of the big ten hates Michigan for be successful again and torching all of their teams. They will be saying that Michigan has had an unfair advantage. That we cannot possibly change our signals and why should we. That since Michigan knows our signals it puts our student athletes in danger from quarterback sacks. Therefore, to be safe and preserve integrity of game Michigan should be banned from playing the rest of the season, all Harbaugh wins vacated forever, Harbaugh suspended for a lengthy period. Let's do this now and sort the actual details of what happened later. Meaning a virtual arrest and jailing of Harbaugh without bail until a trail can be held.

I usually don't start…

I usually don't start drinking until after work around 6

Yeah written by someone that…

Yeah written by someone that's never been a coach. So teams name plays in code like "orange 32" or "aces wide". I assume the ball boy somehow already knows the opponent play list?

Last game I thought it was…

Last game I thought it was fine and commented that I am glad the sound is not blaring like it used to be.

Disagree.

OSU thumps PSU,…

Disagree.

OSU thumps PSU, they leap over Michigan and Georgia if Georgia has a tight game and since we haven't played anybody yet according to the press...

Well to be frank, most of…

Well to be frank, most of the SEC have played rough schedules the last few decades.

Like GA in 2021: #3 Clemson, #8 Ark, #18 Auburn, #11 Kentucky, #3 Alabama, #2 Michigan

I hope we play like last…

I hope we play like last year and pull away from teams in the 3rd quarter.

Otherwise, we are overdue for DERP plays and bad weather games.

If we have a significant lead the old weird DERP plays against the likes of MSU and Indiana won't matter.

You are projecting past…

You are projecting past financial arrangements into the future. Who knows what revenue sharing they are discussing? Are Oregon USC Washington really going to be OK seeing Michigan once every 4 years? Home ticket sales may be a small part of the equation in the future. I don't think they care that the local business loses a home game or two.

From what I understand,…

From what I understand, these are some of the discussions (maybe not next year).

Also one less regular season game to allow for playoffs.

With 2 protected rivals, and 11 regular season games, that's 9 other teams a season, so you would play 1/2 the conference every year roughly. That way everyone gets to play each other more often.

They may/may not allow for one non-conference.

Except if they go to all Big…

Except if they go to all Big Ten type schedule and have no out of conference opponents (cup cakes) then some of the top teams may have already played and beaten each other, dropping them in the polls.

PSU and ND are is ranked top…

PSU and ND are is ranked top ten every year early just because fan base. Always end up with 3 losses. This was the case with Michigan a few years ago.

The thing that skews OSU's ranking is Harrison Jr. If you don't have a couple of top notch (1st rounders) corners and safetys then it's just chuck it in his general direction for easy 28 points a game. When he hits Michigan and Georgia he's locked down.

I would recommend that they…

I would recommend that they go to an arbitrator (usually a few thousand each to pay for one) hash it all out and take what you get.

If you get lawyers involved at all both parties savings will be gone and they will both be broke.

As far as the home - usually you get 1/2 the equity. The person that keeps the house has to give that equity to the other. If neither wishes to assume the mortgage then it's sold and proceeds split.

Participation, attendance…

Participation, attendance and viewership of just about everything is going down because demographics of aging societies and skyrocketing costs vs stale incomes. If younger generations are smaller and have less relative income than before then there will be less consumption of nearly everything.

Hi it was 75 and sunny in North Carolina. 80 tomorrow.

(duck and cover)

I don't know why the Big Ten…

I don't know why the Big Ten (that has it's own network) just doesn't charge $20 per pay per view on demand game. Then run the game with no commercials. Then also offer a $5 option with commercials. The game would not be paused at the stadium, commercials are added after.

This is what other streamers do. I would pay $20 a game for no commercials and on-demand.

Didn't get grill started on time? Avoid media and start the noon game at 1pm. No commercials, done watching in 2 hours.

Agree. If it was Saturday at 3:30 I'd probably watch.

At 8pm on a Monday it won't end until after midnight. I have work. Stupid day and time.

Young man,

This is simply…

Young man,

This is simply Michigan football returning to form.

Big 2 - little 8.

Little brother.

Beat OSU 50% of the time and win the conference.

Get whipped in a bowl game 3 out 4 times.

Welcome to the 70s, 80s, 90s.

Michigan Basketball is awful…

Michigan Basketball is awful this year. Good thing we are back to being a football school.

These are essentially the…

These are essentially the same squads as last year.

Result should be the same barring injures and turnovers.

Unfortunately for MSU trends…

Unfortunately for MSU trends always regress back to the mean.

Dantonio was the highest win % coach for MSU for 5 or more seasons going back to 1915. Even better than Saban.

Dantonio also lined up across from RR and Hoke for a total of 6 wins out of 7 games in that period.

Sorry Sparty, it’s back to a historical 35% win percentage against Michigan from now on – like the level of Iowa, Illinois, Minn and Wisc.

Only PSU, Neb have close to a 45% and OSU is nearly 50-50.

I'm not sure why people are…

I'm not sure why people are worried about the OSU game.

We dominated last year.

Both squads are essentially the same teams, with a few graduates that seem to be replaced with nearly identical new players.

OSU's run defense <<< our defense and Corum >= Haskin.

Giving +7 to OSU for a home game, we still win.

Only exception I see is if one or more key players are out for the game due to injuries.

Well, many of the top teams…

Well, many of the top teams this week struggled to put away weak teams. Clemson, Michigan, Georgia.

I'd say it's a lot of kids dialing it in, reading too much of their own press. A coaching moment.

Statistically, if you assume…

Statistically, if you assume the #1 always makes it, then the remaining, just randomly, would have a 33% of making it.

In your sample, 1/7 times 3rd place made it, so 14%.

14% and 33% are really not that far off. If 3rd place made it this year that goes up to 25%. Next two years up to 33%.
