“He was on the other side of the court, screaming: ‘Good shot, Kev!’” Durant said, shaking his head in delight. “I’m thinking, this guy’s an All-American type of teammate right there.”

This is wayyyyy more damning than anything else Brandon has ever done. Brandon gets paid the big bucks to make the big decisions correctly. He failed miserably and it has set Michigan football back another decade (if not more), otherwise we'd already be back to the top.
|3 days 17 hours ago||How is your bad scenario any different||
Than your "worst case" scenario?? Other than that they don't make a bowl game?
|1 week 13 hours ago||This is why conference championship games are silly||
and should be done away with... having certain teams play more games than others in any sort of postseason system (including the current one!) is fraught with problems. There are those who will say you shouldn't reward a team for palying fewer games, but on the other hand, why would you reward a conference champion for playing a lousy "best of the worst" from the other division? It's not really fair either way...

In one sitting
|1 week 1 day ago||Definitely real||
Go to either UGo's on campus and you'll see. Maybe tomorrow they'll be giving them out with a bag of Combos?
|1 week 1 day ago||Maybe they're trying to be discrete?||
Definitely not a prank though. I just checked the Pierpont UGo's intending to get some but they had given them all away
|1 week 1 day ago||If it makes you feel better||
I checked the Pierpont UGo's a little while ago and they had given them all away already. I can confirm it is real though.
|1 week 1 day ago||To the AD, that's a sunk cost fallacy||
at this point, what does it matter to them if the season ticket holders paid literally 50x more for their tickets? This is just the law of supply and demand at work.
|1 week 1 day ago||That 4th year was the year of the miraculous turnaround||
where the team went on fire in the Big Ten season, finished tied for 3rd (?) I believe, and swept MSU (including the Zack Novak aneurism of leadership game). Funny thing is, as absurd as it sounds in retrospect, Beilein was on the hotseat at the time. Who knows what might have happened had they lost to MSU that year? We'll never know for sure, but the fact is that Beilein somehow found a way to rally the team that year and finish the season blazing hot. And of course made the tourney. Soo yeah, if anything similar in were to happen in football this year, Hoke would remove himself from the hotseat. Only time will tell...
|1 week 3 days ago||Ironically all those teams are decent now||
but they were all pretty pathetic in '07. That was Harbaugh's first year at Stanford in which they had like 4 wins, and Duke went 1-11 that year... also UCLA was 6-7
|1 week 5 days ago||This can only happen b/c we don't pay the football players||
If anyone is wondering where the money the AD is raking in is actually going, this is the answer.

|3 weeks 2 days ago||This is great, and totally deserves it's own thread||
Unfortunately, everyone is acting like a bunch of masochists today. Not that I'm surprised by it, but y'all need to lighten up!
Thank you Dear Leader, for holding up your end of the bargain and satisfying the demands of the People!
|3 weeks 3 days ago||But when you're down 31 with 2 minutes to play...||
What's the difference between a FG and a TD in terms of "playing to win"? I mean, you could always kick the FG and then do an onside kick to show that you're not giving up, right?
|3 weeks 3 days ago||I think his point was that Bo was a great football coach.||
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like Hoke is on that level, but time will tell. Bo bounced back from the '84 season (in which U-M suffered its last shutout before this one, a 26-0 loss to Iowa) with arguably his best season ever in '85. Hoke may not have an entire year to work with though. If he loses to MSU, PSU, and OSU I think it's very unlikely he will survive the season, but it's still just a guessing game and there's really no telling what Brandon is thinking right now.
|22 weeks 5 days ago||Obviously Dr. Evil == App. State||
It's time to strike back, baby
|22 weeks 6 days ago||I think the point here...||
is that our wins against OSU and MSU came when those teams were in obvious down years, and even then we barely squeaked by in those games despite being the favorite by a wide margin.
|23 weeks 4 days ago||"Opting out" has an effect on pricing||
You don't think that if no one buys tickets they won't lower prices, or at least not raise them at outrageous rates?
|23 weeks 4 days ago||What's your point?||
I'm well aware of that. That's the way it was then. This is the way it is now. It might change soon. It might not. My point is that I don't expect the team to be any better than it is.
|23 weeks 4 days ago||The students were criticized for buying tickets and not going||
The argument being that they were preventing non-students from being able to go to the games. So now the students are not buying tickets anymore and they're still being criticized. If what you really wanted was for all the students to exhibit unbrindled devotion towards the football team, even in the face of high prices and a crap product, your expectations were unrealistic. This is just a fact of life.
EDIT: reveal yourself, random downvoter
|23 weeks 4 days ago||Entitled?||
Honestly, I don't "expect" any better than what we've gotten, unlike many of the other posters here who are still convinced that this is just a temporary down period. Personally, I am quite used to Michigan football being crap. My sports conciousness dates back to the 2001 season. U-M has gone 2-11 in The Game since then. In the five years I've been a student here I've watched Sparty win the Big Ten twice and even win the Rose Bowl. Like MGrowOld, nothing would make me happier than to see U-M go undefeated. Even on the miniscually small chance that did happen though, the legendary games wouldn't be the ones being played at Michigan Stadium. The home slate is crap. The point is, I'm not willing to shell out $300 to watch a likely bad U-M team play a bunch of other bad teams.
|23 weeks 4 days ago||So glad you posted this||
I got this email earlier and find it quite amusing that the AD thinks they can still entice me to buy tickets at this point. I first got here in '09 and am now a grad student, and all of the factors everyone is mentioning went into my decision to not buy season tickets. In '09 a student season ticket was $200. That's a 50% increase in half a decade. Ridiculous. The general admission thing was a complete fiasco and I simply don't trust the AD after all these spontaneous rule changes. And quite frankly the team has been awful the past two years. To think, I consider myself extremely lucky to have seen ONE win over OSU and ONE win over MSU in the time i've been here. The biggest factor though is probably the schedule. The marquee game is PSU? How thrilling. I do love going to the games though, so I would still have gotten tickets if it weren't for the fact that I know I'll be able to pick up a ticket for each game from another student for practically nothing at all.
|24 weeks 1 day ago||Ann Arbor is a college town, Austin is a city||
just saying, it's very hard to compare the two. A lot of times people think of Austin as a college town, but its population is literally over 7x the size of Ann Arbor's.

I couldn't care less what he does in the NFL. Would much rather see him go 2-2 against us... sigh...

Though in the book it's a hairnet and not a necklace.
|24 weeks 2 days ago||Tywin was absolutely not involved||
He definitely thought Joffrey was an idiot but it's insinuated that Tywin would never have gone so far as to commit kinslaying. I haven't watched the episode yet and don't want to give anything away, but there's a pretty good consensus on all the ASOIAF forums as to who was responsible. There are two people in particular for whom the evidence is almost irrefutable. Tywin, Sansa, and Tyrion are not considered major suspects.
|25 weeks 3 days ago||anyone want to explain again||
how that's such a low percentage shot
|26 weeks 2 days ago||what was with that last 30 seconds||
I will still never understand why you wouldn't foul them there on that last possession and make their 50% free throw shooters make a 1-and-1... even if they do make it, you're down 2 with 20 seconds left and have a chance to win the game on a three
|26 weeks 2 days ago||this game is a fucking self-fulfilling prophecy though||
If you let Randle do w/e the fuck he wants inside and call Morgan for ticky tack bullshit, this is what's going to happen
