|2 days 8 hours ago||Yeah this will not end well||
just like Brady Hoke's tenure at Michigan...
|2 days 11 hours ago||Hey there. My hotdog vendor happens to be a very reliable source||
thank you very much. FWIW he said Peppers is transferring to MSU and Hoke and Brandon just got 15-year extensions.
|2 days 15 hours ago||Wut||
Like just wut
|2 days 16 hours ago||Oh c'mon, they won the Rose Bowl||
Oh c'mon, they won the Rose Bowl and beat Urban Meyer in the BTCG. Their success goes beyond Michigan's decline at this point.

But is his wife house shopping in Ann Arbor? That's the real giveaway.
|2 days 16 hours ago||The fact that Dantonio made that joke about the stake||
The fact that Dantonio made that joke about the stake without even cracking a smile is about as Dantonio as it gets.
|2 days 16 hours ago||The fact that it is still pissing them off||
The fact that it is still pissing them off seven years down the road continues to amaze me. They won the Rose Bowl and yet they are still fixated on this just as much as when it started. Stabbing a stake in the ground "is a product of their program"? No, no it's not. It's 20 year olds being silly. Was MSU planting their flag at ND back in 2004 or whatever a product of their program?
Everyone associated with the organization at the time the phrase was first uttered is gone. Dantonio is the guy who refuses to speak to his family for 40 years over something no one else even remembers.
|2 days 18 hours ago||I nearly spit out my drink||
When I read that comment... Hoke has Meyer's number about as much as Carr had Tressels number, which is to say, not at all.
|4 days 11 hours ago||It really amazes me how we treat these booth people like gods||
They sit up there completely invisible and make decisions in utmost secrecy (we don't even have any idea WHO actually is making these decisions) and we peons just accept it. No explanations necessary. I mean how about some freaking accountability? These guys are fools and completely incompetent. It's not brain surgery - how do you mess up an obvious call like this (or the Rutgers one) unless you're just completely incapable of being a replay official?
|4 days 11 hours ago||Yes what a special moment for Devin||
getting steamrolled by his in-state rival.That's exactly what I was thinking too. (Not that I blame Devin entirely, he was awful but the whole football organization is just incompetent and terrible)

So what would we expect

|1 week 2 days ago||Still, it's hard to say we didn't have it coming...||
I mean, it's not as if we had been utterly dominant over that 6-win streak. Michigan could have pretty easily been 2-4 instead.
Under the same reasoning, it seems the data we have now indicates at least another 5/6 for Sparty :( except instead of nailbiters, most of them will just be pummelings. Alright time for me to stop wallowing... Maybe we'll at least reverse the downward trend in points this year?
|1 week 2 days ago||I never said it surprised me||
and the players themselves will always talk smack. But as fans we skating on thin ice - on the heels of quite a streak of luck that for some reason we thought was utter domination. Only two wins in our stretch of 6 straight could even remotely be called convincing - 2002 and 2006. The 2003 game took a heroic effort from Perry, 2004 was the Braylonfest OT miracle, 2005 was another OT nailbiter, and 2007 required a 10 point comeback in the final 10 minutes.
|1 week 2 days ago||Carr was a very good coach...||
but Tressel ultimately did him in. At the end of the day though, I'd say his biggest flaw was failing to set up a suitable replacement ahead of time, and not embracing the role of "caretaker of the football program" like Bo did. When Michigan needed a strong leader more than ever Carr was nowhere to be seen.
Also if there is any truth at all to the rumor that he vetoed Les Miles that's just infuriating.

|1 week 3 days ago||I don't understand why people don't get this...||
Before the CFP people were saying "Trust us, it'll never get past 4 teams, 4 is really just the perfect number." Well, we haven't even been one year in the new system and there are already people howling that 8 is the perfect number. It'll change, but then everyone will be saying why not 12 teams like the NFL?
|1 week 3 days ago||Any chance of 3 SEC teams in the CFP?||
Would probably have to entail a 2 loss team getting in which seems unlikely... but the SEC love is about as high as it can possibly get this season
|1 week 4 days ago||What are you talking about?||
Don't you know it's an immutable law of college football that young offensive lines are doomed to be terrible? Apparently you haven't heard SpaceCoyote explain how even if you've got two NFL tackles, as long as your guards are anything below RS Sr. then you cannot possibly have a decent offensive line.
|1 week 4 days ago||You haven't forgotten about our beatdown, have you?||
That one wasn't so much fun to watch... Wasn't much better than the ND NCG showing. 31-0 and I think Brian was close to cracking...
|1 week 5 days ago||As far as I'm concered||
the banner change is what doomed us. Brian should have never changed it from "Hoke springs eternal" as it was in 2011.
Change the banner and watch us have a miralce turnaround!
|1 week 6 days ago||Let me work through your reasoning here...||
Last year Hoke/Borges sometimes ran a "spread" and sometimes ran "manball". They sucked at manball but got lucky ~25% of the time with the spread (e.g. ND, OSU). This year Hoke/Nuss are sticking with manball and the offense has been atrocious 100% of the time discounting cupcakes and Rutgers (where we lit it up with 158 total rushing yards and 4.5 ypc). You cite ND and Utah as examples of where they outgained their opponent in a loss - this year's version of manball provided a whopping 100 yards/2.9 ypc and 118 yards/3.3 ypc in those games, respectively.This qualifies as a significant improvement in your mind.
|2 weeks 6 hours ago||You're joking, right?||
I guess if you're using the Notre Dame game as your starting point then anything is improvement. But Michigan is currently 67 in offensive FEI, and last year they finished 42... How exactly are they getting better? In yards per play they've jumped from 73 to... 71. So I guess there's that.
Even defense has dropped from 37 to 50 after returning virtually everyone - remember, this was the year almost everyone was saying they would make the jump to become an "elite" unit.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||The talk about factions was and is utter nonsense||
Different people sometimes have different opinions. Go figure!
The "lack of support from the Michigan family" was always nonsense and didn't affect the play on the field. Lloyd telling his players he would sign any transfer papers wasn't abnormal - it's pretty standard procedure, considering Lloyd was essentially breaking his word from when he recruited them.
Still should have given RR one more year.
|3 weeks 13 hours ago||I mean I'd prefer substantiated hope||
instead of random guesses from U-M homers, but I guess at this point I'll take what I can get :/
|3 weeks 18 hours ago||on defense yes we believed it||
On offense we were scratching our heads a good deal of the time, and serious doubts were arising as early as UTL1.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||pretty ironic||
Considering this was supposed to be the marquee game of the year. But I guess that's what happens when the team is out of the B1G title hunt in week 3.

|3 weeks 1 day ago||We're just splitting hairs at this point||
Whether the fans show up and are electric is mostly irrelevant in this context. The players will perform according to how they were prepared by the coaches. They don't "need" the fans to succeed - Utah and Minnesota didn't "need" their fans to come smash our faces in the past two games, and Penn State won't need their fans to come in and run roughshod over us this Saturday.
I mean sure, for bigtime games and bigtime teams, maybe the home crowd can provide a boost, but let's not pretend that applies here. It's the first week of October and Michigan's season is effectively over. The fans are mad and want to make a statement, and there's no reason they shouldn't.
I hate to see the players suffer for it as much as anyone but honestly, I feel far, far sorrier for the fact that they have to play under our clownshow coaching staff than for the possibility that the student section might be a little emptier than usual before the game on Saturday...
